If there were a 20/5, I would give it. The speaker, for its size, is amazing and truly worth every euro. I mainly use it outdoors, and I have to say that for such a small size, the bass is heard after 40Hz and sounds crystal clear and loud. The only downside might be its battery, which lasts but not as long at maximum volume, but if you know how to put in extra batteries, it really is the best you can get for 178 euros. Something like Xtreme or Charge can't compare to it in everything except the battery. Don't go for Xtreme or Charge; as long as this price is so low, you will regret it!! For the beach, it is top in its category.
3-1-25: I went and got a second one because the speaker is simply amazing, especially in stereo mode!

  • Truly for its price and size the least I can say is wonderful. Compared to the Go 3, yes it has various improvements in sound quality and construction. Now even the GO series are included in the JBL app with equalizer, battery level, and can be connected to other GO speakers and all speakers with auracast. There is also a new feature in the JBL app that reduces the bass and increases the volume while maintaining battery life. The sound it produces is extremely clear without a tweeter, only with 1 woofer and works wonders. Having other JBL speakers without tweeters, the sound cannot be compared to that of the GO 4. Also, the claim that other frequencies are muffled by the bass is not true.

  • Guys, I don't know what you're saying about the battery, but as an owner of the JBL Charge 5, it has a better battery than the Charge 5. Their sound between the Essential 2 and the Charge 5 is the same because they have the same setup (woofer, tweeter). Its disadvantages are that it doesn't connect to the app, it doesn't have partyboost, and it has the old design of the Charge 4, but that's not a big deal. If the other person doesn't care about connecting it to other JBL speakers, then they can go for this one, but if they want to pair it with other JBL speakers, they should go for a Charge 5 or Flip 6! The sound is crystal clear and the bass is very good for its size!

I have had them for 3 years, very good headphones with powerful sound and bass and clear. After 3 years, the battery has worn out a bit and lasts for 3-5 hours at maximum volume.

  • I got it in April 2020 for €110 and it has turned out to be the best speaker for this size for outdoor squares and walks, it's just right, not too heavy or big, the volume and bass it produces for a mono speaker is the best you can find, battery lasts over 6 hours at high volume. Mine has been through sea, dirt, and has not been damaged at all, it claims to be waterproof and it means it. I have compared it with Xtreme 2 and it produced the same volume, prefer the Charge 4, 5 over any Xtreme speaker.
The best thing I have ever bought!!

    20-6-2023 It stopped working.

26/8/22: Guys, I bought 3 Samsung batteries with 2500mAh each, and they are not fake. All of them received the correct 2500mAh and work perfectly!

30/8/22 update: I bought another 3 of the same batteries, and they were authentic again. They received the correct 2500mAh on the liitoKala charger.

19/11/22 update: I have put 3 in my JBL Charge 3 portable speaker, and instead of 6000mAh, I put in 7500mAh batteries. They need to play for 7+ hours at maximum volume to run out, no issues.
