The PlayStation 5 Slim is the smart choice for a top-tier gaming experience without excessive cost. I just have to say that yes, it is understood that the console is considered better (I don't believe it) because it is something that doesn't offer anything different; they just put out games that are supposedly new while in reality, based on graphics, they are exactly the same as the PS4 with supposedly small differences. Surely it is a very good console. Strong performance, very fast and with very good resolution.
As a top machine.. the lever broke my left analog stick, it only went to the left on its own... everything else is great.
As I replaced a ps3, I will make a "comparison". Of course, I will not talk about performance, etc., but about some things that can be compared.
- A jewel from our living room left and was replaced by a bulky console that is both flat and takes up the entire shelf.
- I can't find the applications that the 3 had, and it doesn't help you easily search for things like the internet browser, etc. They don't exist, and you have to do small hacks to use it and not in full screen.
- I couldn't play video files from USB, something that may be possible like with the browser, but it is not an immediately available function.
- It didn't have that wow factor of the new console, but what impressed me are the controllers, which are fantastic. I also got a charging dock, and everything is organized and readily available.
- The storage space, which seems to be over 600 gigs, can easily fill up as games take up a lot of space, and the solution it offers is to store them on a USB stick and copy them when you want to play.
- I would appreciate it if it played titles from the 3, etc., as there are games like Buzz, etc., where graphics come second, but okay, it's not made for antiquarians.

The PS5 Digital was recently purchased (I am the owner of the entire PS1/2/3/4 Pro series in the past) and for the past 2 years, I have had the Xbox Series X and the reason for choosing it then was that it is the only console that you could mod and load Retroarch to play Retro Games (MAME/Amiga/Nintendo/Spectrum, etc.), which now you would need a Microsoft development account that costs just 10 euros. Anyway, in terms of construction quality, the PS5's plastics are inferior (I also changed the faceplate to black) compared to the high-quality Xbox Series X. PS4 games have exactly the same graphics when played on the PS5 (I have tested 30 games), the only difference being the stable 60 FPS that no longer drop, for example, Shadow of the Tomb Raider/God of War, etc., and especially in several games (not all, for example, Red Redemption/Crash Bandicoot Trilogy, Tom Clancy Wildlands, Darksiders 3, etc., are still and will forever remain at 30 FPS, the same games have not been upgraded on the Xbox S/X, with the only exception being Division 1, which plays at 60 FPS only on Xbox) they have boosted several games to 60 FPS (Assassin's Creed series, etc.) and a few to 120 FPS (Doom Eternal, COD MWII, etc.). It should be noted that the Xbox Series X runs triple the number of games at 120 FPS.
The problem is that all the old expensive controllers cannot play PS5 games (for example, Razer Raiju Ultimate/Tournament/Astro C40 TR, etc.), but only PS4 games. The PS5 DualShock is of good quality (but no comparison to serious controllers on the market like Elite 2/Razer Raiju Wolverine), but it is only for the basics and it also has haptic feedback, which personally I downloaded 40 games from the store and it is only activated in 3-4 PS5 games, in the rest, especially in PS4, it simply doesn't exist.
Buying digital games from the PS Store is ridiculous in terms of prices, for example, Call of Duty Black Ops 3 is currently priced at 69 euros (a game that was first released on PS3 and is the same), whereas all the new PS5 titles, for example, Returnal, are priced at 79 euros (only if you find it on sale during the year for 49 euros), generally, PS Plus Extra is the only way to go, it is worth it only with an annual subscription (from 6/9/2023 it will increase to 125 euros per year), which is the cost of buying 2 games, where you have access to many PS4/PS5 games and you start with a serious library. The PS4 Plus Premium is not worth it because it simply adds PS3 games that you can only play in streaming format (because the PS5 does not offer backwards compatibility) and it only gives you a few hours of trial in some exclusive titles that are not included in any subscription package (for example, God of War Ragnarok, Last of Us 1, etc.).
The internal disk it has is laughable in terms of capacity (leaving only 650GB free) and you will have to spend another 130 euros for a serious 2TB NVME PCI 4 (be careful, PCI 3 does not work on the PS5), which must necessarily have a cooler. The best choice is the Corsair MP600 (which includes a cooler).
Sony currently wants to get rid of all the PS5 Disk Versions, which is why it is offering a 75 euro discount on the consoles because before the end of the year, it will launch the PS5 Slim on the market with the extra option of an external disc player.
Finally, if someone wants to buy the PS5, it is only for 4-5 exclusive games that are not available on PC (e.g. God of War Ragnarok, Horizon Zero Forbidden West, Last of Us 2, etc.). Otherwise, there is no reason for anyone to invest in the PS5, and the PC or Xbox Series X will be the only way to go (it will dominate for several years, even if it is not first in sales)
The Playstation 5 Digital is fantastic, especially for Fall Guys, Spiderman Miles Morales, or FIFA 23. The controller provides a perfect experience. Personally, I prefer to spend an extra 150 euros rather than getting an Xbox
In terms of appearance and practicality, it's not the best, it's quite bulky.
2. In terms of important features, compared to the PS4 Pro, it has better graphics, doesn't lag, and has a nice interface and functions.
3. The haptics of the controller have a little issue, they don't easily pick up movements.
This specific console can definitely be considered next gen due to its 3D audio, dualsense controller, fast loading times, and incredible graphics quality... although I believe it should be sold at its official price (€400 for the digital edition and €500 for the disk edition)
Unfortunately, it is not what we call NEXT GEN. It barely reaches 60 fps in 4K and in the majority of cases, it is not true 4K but rather with Dynamic/Upscaled resolution. Also, since I have the Series X and S after the gamepass phase that offers day one releases, it is difficult for me to play PS again. Okay, I'm waiting for GOD OF WAR, but everything else is now on PC and multiplatform. As for the Psplus premium, it's simply 80% indie games and only 5 titles are worth it, but now everyone has them (Spiderman, Ff7, etc.). Wait for it to drop to $400 because it's not worth its money and even the PS4 will have all the 2023 releases.
The PS5 is a next-generation console, recently acquired.
Firstly, it is not a computer (I see comparisons in the comments).

Negatives: Overpriced and lack of stock.
Quite large if space is a significant limitation.
Factory inadequate storage space of only 686GB and something.
You need a small fortune to expand storage as SSDs are expensive.
First-generation DualSense controllers have problems, something Sony did not mention. Prefer second-generation DualSense controllers (why, Sony?).
The remote control (if you get it) is beautiful but needs improvement in button layout.
Support for 3D Dolby only with Sony headphones.
Result: It does what it promises and does it very well. It is worth buying (once the price drops to normal levels) and provides many hours of gaming pleasure.
The PS5 is very good in combination with the Series X and an OLED TV, it's the paradise of every hardcore gamer :)

The console is amazing with many features and the controller. I have no issues except for the well-known price that exceeds excessively due to the lack of product availability.
Overall, this purchase is worth it!
4 stars because: Sony seems to have a strange approach. Dolby Atmos is only enabled for UHD Blu-ray movies. It has been disabled for Plex, Netflix, and games. Battlefront Star Wars and Battlefield have Atmos sound, but we can't hear it. Otherwise, you can add an m2 disk with 4T for 700 euros...ridiculous. Of course, the console has improved, but it's not worth spending a fortune on a disk if you can't even hear Atmos.

I have had an Xbox for years and spent so much money on it, but my controller broke, so 4 stars. However, they said games like Fortnite would have 120 fps, so 3 stars... But it's good if you want to play FIFA with your friends at night or any other game, but for PvP games like Fortnite, it's not the best.
It's a console that if you want a variety of games + controllers to play with friends, you'll give a thousand bucks to spend your time. Otherwise, it's very high quality.
The console is amazing and worth its price. It's better to spend 400 to 500 euros and get a simple computer with 500 than to spend 1500 to 2000 to reach the performance of the PS5.
2. The DualSense is amazing and has left me speechless with its performance.
3. The only negative for me is that I got the digital edition because I found it with the pulse 3D headphones and another DualSense for 550, while the regular PS5 was at 630 with a game and controller. My budget was only up to 550, so I got the PS5 digital just for the headphones.
4. I wanted to get the regular one because I have 26 PS4 discs and I would take 6 of them. Also, with the digital, I can't play them, and the other reason I wanted the regular one was because the games I wanted to buy for the PS5 would be more affordable, while now I have to pay the initial price of the games on the PSN store. That's why I would recommend getting the regular version of the PS5 unless you want to play games like Fortnite, Call of Duty, and other similar games. However, if you have PS4 games on discs, I would recommend getting the regular PS5.
Excellent console. Incredibly fast loading times, graphics, colors, and cooling system (literally blows cold air and freezes your hand). Also, it doesn't sound like an airplane. Finally, in my opinion, if you don't have money for a gaming PC, here's your solution (if you can find one).
Perhaps the best console that Sony has ever made so far! Tremendous variety of games, quiet machine, beautiful console with the controller that I'm amazed by, it's from another planet and where I used to say the best was the Xbox, now I can't stop using this one! It's incredibly worth it!
I have tried all the consoles and it is by far the best one that has been released to date, the graphics are completely realistic especially in the PS5 games, with the new SSD hard drive everything loads incredibly fast, the new controller is also very nice and ergonomic, it is worth the money and more, to build a computer with such performance you need to spend at least €1500. I would buy it again and again with my eyes closed.
Guys, I will give a detailed evaluation of the console, referring to its positives and negatives.
Positives:
1) The controller is the best peripheral I have ever held in my hands in my life. Its weight, vibration, and quality construction make it simply unbeatable. I have heard some comments that its battery drains quickly, and it is partly true compared to the PS4, but its functions with adaptive triggers and unique vibrations logically consume its battery.
2) The built-in SSD makes it incredibly fast. I have always been annoyed by the wait for a game, a scene, or an area to load. The PS5 has permanently solved this problem with its lightning-fast loading speeds. The applications and interface run smoothly without any delays or freezes.
3) Its design and size make it beautiful, and its ports are sufficient and conveniently located to be placed on any surface.
4) Its resolution is 4K, and with a television that supports HDMI 2.1, it delivers incredible picture quality, especially in terms of FPS.
5) It has good temperature control with a cooling system that keeps its plastics in normal condition. It does get quite warm at the cooling outlet where all the HDMI, ETHERNET, and USB ports are located. I recommend using the default cables that have thermal and magnetic shielding. However, I do not consider this a negative feature because the next step would be liquid cooling, which I find excessive for a PlayStation. Perhaps Sony will surprise us in the future with something like that.
Negatives:
1) The Digital edition console should not exist in my opinion. It does not differ in size from the standard edition, only in functionality. I have always remembered that if I wanted to buy a cheap game, I would wait for its price to drop on Skroutz or buy it used. This way, I usually bought most games at a very good price, which is impossible with the PSN store, which limits you to digital purchases at their maximum prices. You cannot transfer your physical PS4 games. For me, this is a significant reason to sell the console and get the Standard edition.
2) Its media capabilities are limited. You cannot view photos from a USB pleasantly as they cannot be zoomed in. The supported video files are mp3 and mp4, which means you cannot watch any movie with subtitles that you have downloaded to an external storage. While it has the ability to play everything in tremendous resolutions, it is limited to force you to use constantly advertised applications like Netflix. In other words, if you do not pay a subscription to a partnered streaming app, you cannot replace your trusty computer, laptop, etc.
I could analyze more details, but I do not aim for a review, only to share my experience as a gamer and as someone who expected certain things from a computing device that costs 399 euros (based on the official SONY suggested price). I found the PS5 at exactly this price by constantly refreshing pages of major retailers. In conclusion, I would say that it is not a next-gen console. The technologies and designs of it (judging as an engineer and designer of smart building circuits, etc.) have been real for many years now. It could have been a pro version of the PS4, therefore, and its similarities to the PS4 Pro. This does not mean that it is not worth its money for its capabilities. I can't wait for new games to come out that will showcase them to the fullest, and I'm not just referring to games whose sequels we are waiting for, but also to new ideas that will surprise us again and again. This makes the console special... its innovation and the company's love to create and tell new stories.

The machine as a "metal" is exceptional. It is very quiet, has much better responses than the PS4 Pro in menu/game switches, and of course, has exceptional loading times. It does not have a wide range of games yet, as is always the case with new generations. I will differentiate the review for PS4 owners and "fresh" ones.
For those who have a PS4/PS4 Pro:
It depends on your preferences and financial ability. If you are tight and have a PS4 Pro, then it may not be worth chasing yet. If you are more comfortable, then you will enjoy several differences in performance (loading times and response mainly) and of course, you will do what you like. I have not seen significant differences in PS4 games, but it does not have the frame drops of the PS4 Pro.
For those who do not have a console or PS4/PS4 Pro:
There is no dilemma between PS4/PS5, even if you will have difficulty finding it due to the chip situation. If you are considering between Xbox and PS5, then you should now look at titles that interest you. As a Sony fanboy, I will not elaborate further. ;)
Overall, the console seems to be well-built and has many areas for improvement. If you want it as a gimmick, then go for it. If you already have a PS4, think twice.

I will not compare (owner of both) the Xbox Series X because I consider both consoles to be very good, each for its own reasons.
The console, combined with a 4K TV, has incredible graphics even though there aren't many next-gen games yet.
It could have slightly better and higher quality plastics, and I hope the controller doesn't present me with the known problems and noise due to the different types of fans that Sony uses, as well as coil whine.

Guys, let's say something as those of us who have the console, it's amazing but at the moment it's not worth it at all. I had pre-ordered it and if you're going to spend €700 to go buy a PC, I have a PC but lately I only play with the console, it's amazing.
Firstly, I must say that 4k is significantly better than 1080p. However, the cost of games is particularly high. If you are a casual gamer and want to save some money, go for the Xbox series S and get game pass (put in as many negative comments as you want, we all know I'm telling the truth). Now, if your wallet can handle it, go for the PS5, which of course has the best exclusives and, in my opinion, the best controller. Here is a detailed description:
