For some reason, the files started deleting on their own. I didn't notice it and lost a lot.
While initially it seemed to work perfectly for its price, after only 4500 hours of operation, it started to lag significantly. Many programs produce errors and it "cuts off" files. Pure disappointment.
Thoribodes like most hard drives and I can't talk about how it will withstand for 24 days that I have it, it is fast and stable!
WARNING about placement!!! Fortunately, I read the comments here and found my salvation!
So, even though I have a decent mid-tower PC case (Sharkoon S25), initially I made the same "careless" placement that I always did. That is, I simply placed the hard drive inside an empty 5.25" tray, connected it, and put it in front ("well, as if I'm shaking the tower, what does it matter? It doesn't have anywhere to go inside anyway"). The first time it didn't make much noise, so I started copying files and everything was fine. The next morning, when I put it in front, it sounded like a blender in a café!
The solution? I searched to find where I put the "unused" accessories of the tower that I never used, and I found a PROPER chassis for 3.5" drives. I placed it in the designated spot in the tower, put the Toshiba drive in it, and connected it properly. Boot, and... silence!
Guys, I have two 3.5" Western Digital Red drives in a NAS and one WD Purple drive in a recorder. The Toshiba drive does NOT make more noise. It has a slight hum when it starts up, which you can only hear if it's completely silent (and the GPU isn't running). It's the same noise that all 3.5" HDDs make. It's not an SSD with no moving parts, it will make an imperceptible noise. Just be careful with the placement. It seems that this particular drive easily resonates when it's loose, metal against metal in the case.
I took him for a specific use, cloning in an old medical machine with Windows 7 that had the exact same disk and happened to crash indeed the old one (7 years of use), and successfully replaced it with the spare (I had the data elsewhere). He does his job perfectly fine, so I took him again (the same one for the second time).
I have had this specific hard drive (Toshiba P300 HDWD110UZSVA) for a little over a month now. Obviously, it is too early to form any accurate opinion about its stability and reliability. On the day I received it, I properly installed it in the case (an old budget Cougar from 2015), disconnected the SSD, and immediately installed Windows 10 to see how it performs as the main drive and to run some tests simultaneously, mainly to check if it is defective and to get a first impression of its reliability.
One of these tests was CrystalDiskMark 8, where the speeds were more than satisfactory for an HDD. Specifically, it managed to reach up to 200MB/s Read and 195MB/s Write (SEQ1MQ8T1) in the first benchmark I ran, while using only 4% of its capacity.
Here I should mention and clarify that it is perfectly reasonable for an HDD to have noticeably slower boot times compared to almost any SSD (the Samsung 870 EVO I have had for a year initially powered on in 20-23" with fast startup disabled, now it takes around 30", and the Toshiba took about 40" to reach the desktop, also with fast startup disabled, but you have to wait a few seconds for it to stabilize). Overall, the system was quite responsive and applications opened relatively quickly for this type of drive. I was not disappointed with its performance as the main drive, although a SATA SSD, let alone an NVMe, is clearly more suitable, no doubt about it.
The next day, after leaving the Toshiba running continuously for over 15 hours during which I ran several benchmarks, I booted from the Samsung and wiped the Toshiba using the "clean all" command in diskpart (which essentially destroys the disk's files by writing 0s and 1s to each sector of the disk and takes quite some time). It started the process with Write speeds of 190-200MB/s, and just before it finished, the speed had dropped to 110MB/s. In other words, it wrote continuously at a speed of 110+MB/s for about two hours, and its temperature did not exceed 36°C! That is truly impressive for a mechanical drive.
After going through all of that without any issues, it is obviously not DOA and gave me the impression that it has the potential to prove reliable over time, which is why I trusted it with my files.
Since then, I have been using it as a secondary storage drive, mainly for storing files such as photos and videos, and I have run dozens of benchmarks and tests in general.
The speeds have now decreased significantly (120-130MB/s Read & Write) because I am using almost half of the capacity (43%). Completely normal.
It is slightly noisy, but I discovered this when I turned on the PC with the Toshiba disconnected and recorded the case's sound both with and without the drive in operation to confirm it. Even in the recording, the difference is negligible. Even under load, it does not make more or less noise compared to idle, unless you literally put your ear on the drive, then you can hear a faint hum. Additionally, the motor makes a minimal noise during startup and a noticeable click when it "parks" during shutdown, but nothing worrisome.
Regarding temperature, at room temperature, without cooling, it has never exceeded 36°C (as mentioned before, it stayed at that temperature for at least 2 hours continuously when I reset it, and since then it hasn't gotten any hotter).
So far, I am completely satisfied in every aspect. Fast, almost silent, low temperatures, and reliable for now.

CPU: Intel Pentium G4400
GPU: Intel HD Graphics 510
RAM: 12GB [8GB Corsair DDR4 3000Mhz + 4GB DDR4 2400Mhz (the processor supports up to 2133Mhz)]
Main Disk (SSD): Samsung 870 EVO 500GB

P.S. The Toshiba P300 HDWD110UZSVA is CMR technology and has a similar, if not the same, architecture as Hitachi, so there is a high chance it will withstand the test of time.
It's fine, I have them as a backup and it doesn't distort 4K videos.
10/2023 I remove one star because it started freezing
I had been a little afraid of the negative reviews, but there were also several positive ones. I have had the disk for over a year, which is not a long time for a mechanical disk, but it doesn't make any noise or increase temperatures, as I read, and it is also very fast for a mechanical one.
Personally, I am satisfied with any mechanical disk that reaches over 100mb/sec. This specific one reaches 190mb/sec in my system, so I am very satisfied. I am going to buy a second one since I filled up this one.
In my tower, I have decade-old hard drives (Samsung & WD Black) to see if they will last as long!
Give 20 euros more and get a 1TB SSD and get rid of HDDs. It's not the worst in the market but it's not WD either
I used it in a recorder, it lasted for 3.5 years (purchased on 5/24/2019), yesterday it died after consecutive power outages. The head is dead.
I will return on 4/7/2023. In the end, I made a mistake, it was the power supply of the recorder that was at fault, and it has been working perfectly until today.
I have two identical ones. They are reliable and their speed is as expected. In the case of the second one I received, it was DOA. Of course, DOA can happen with all brands, especially in the post-coronavirus era.
I bought it 2 times..and both times it didn't arrive..terrible noise (possibly indicating that it is defective)..the first one didn't even work for the software..the second one started freezing after a few days..
As soon as I connected it and tried to restore from backup, it showed 1400 bad sectors. It was destroyed in less than 3 hours of operation. (7% health).

First of all, before buying a hard drive, check if it is SMR or CMR, google to see the differences. Unfortunately, most new ones are SMR and although they have a larger cache, they are actually much slower than a CMR with a 64 MB cache !!!! This one here is a CMR that makes it reliable for good speeds and ideal for a hard drive that you use on a daily basis with many recordings. I still have one with 1 terabyte with very good temperatures & steady write speeds at 180-190 Mb. For hard drives, the speeds are excellent. It was mainly purchased for backup but also for some games. I have come to love Toshiba drives, I consider them more reliable than Western Digital drives of the same category, of course, and a class above the unreliable Seagate drives. Buy it with your eyes closed.
The disk is excellent with plenty of space. I have had it for a year and a half and it hasn't had any problems. It can fit many files/games inside, for example, I have around 15 games inside and still have 400gb free! For its price, it might be the best.
I have had it for about a year and I work on it every day, it never shuts down. From the beginning, it was noisy and its performance has started to decline over time. But for its price, it is good
I have been using it on my media server for a month now. The server stays open 24 hours a day for several days. Everything is fine, no problems so far.
I have him for almost 8 years. He hasn't had any issues, even though I write and delete a lot of files. When I got him, he had software on him, but now that SSDs are in fashion, I use him just for movies, series, and anything I want to throw away or keep inside the PC. Overall, he's a dog with the typical speeds and noise for these specific disks, without anything excessive in any area.
I bought two and both lasted for 40 seconds (the connection time with the PC). Both are damaged due to a hardware failure. I'm waiting for the third one and hoping it works. Of course, I have 19 years of experience in computers, so it's not a connection error or anything else. These things happen in mass production (CHINA)

I bought 3 and for a year now the health of the discs is at 99% through a monitoring program. Very good and quiet.
Up until now, the HDD has been very reliable, quite fast despite working only with WD Black for 15 years. Their low temperatures are also impressive. I have bought around 6 pieces, 1TB, 2TB, 2TB.
For me, Toshiba is the top hard disk manufacturing company. I chose this specific disk because of its price. I read several reviews about the noise it makes, but I believe the noise is within normal limits for a mechanical disk. As for the speed, it is slightly faster than the Seagate ones I have. As for the reliability of this specific disk, we will see, as I have only been using it for a few days. As for the reliability of your company, I can mention that I have a Toshiba as a second backup disk on my computer, which operates flawlessly for 6-8 hours daily since 2015!
Before I bought it, I had read the reviews, I was wondering about the noise, how much noise could a disk make? You see, I had a PC with a 50mb 3600 RPM disk from the old school...
I plugged it into a Cooler Master COSMOS C700M case, I press the power button, everything is ok - No noise, I had read so many things, I say the watermelon is bad, it must be an imitation from ..., I check if the disk was recognized, I start transferring videos to the Toshiba (the reason I bought it) - No noise, I unplug the disk, I take it to my son who wanted my movie collection, I plug it into his case and it sounds like a tractor, I took it and we went shopping, he chose a good case that I agreed with and we did the necessary work, we plug in the disk again - No noise, guys, I really appreciate Toshiba, I create my PCs from scratch, it's my job and I don't play with them, I have burned many disks until I ended up with two brands, Toshiba & Hitachi = Japan, the only thing I always check is the "made in" and the reason they started manufacturing them in Turkey, I got fooled once, besides the fact that instead of Toshiba it shows Vestel in the system, it didn't last even 8 months.
P.S. For those of you who have a screw-in and not a plug-in (with clips) in simple cases, there are rubber bands for vibrations, if you touch the hard drive and the metal of the case you will understand where the noise comes from, the reason I bought a new case for my son was simply because the case was old and it will have a problem with the new generations of computers. Patience, in 3 years HDDs will disappear...

I bought it for backup use as an external drive using a SATA -> USB enclosure. This particular one is manufactured in Sep/2018. As for the noise, yes, it is obviously audible, especially when it first starts up. It's not an SSD, so it's not silent. It has a different tone compared to WD drives and might alienate some people. However, it's not any louder by any means, even though I use it without a case. In terms of speed, it's slightly faster than the other drives I use in this way. I can't say for sure though, because my computer doesn't have USB 3, so I have a ceiling of 480 Mbps without my drives being the cause. In the 2+ years that I've had it, and with occasional use, I haven't had any issues. I bought it because of its price per GB, and today, as I look for a new one, it remains the second cheapest (per unit of capacity). I will probably buy it again due to the positive experience I have with it.
Edit: Temperature-wise, it's the same as the others. When I first got it, I started a transfer of 2+ TB and after 5-6 hours, it was hot, but there was no issue (I didn't interrupt the copy). The other one that was feeding it the data (thus putting less strain on it) was equally hot.
The hard drive for HDD is very fast, around 150mb/s, and completely SILENT! I don't know about others who install their hard drive and it makes noise, but in my midi tower in the HDD slot where I have placed it, it is not heard AT ALL! Ideal for storage. 10/10
I use it for data storage, no software at all. When it's activated, it makes incredible noise... U've been warned!
