• I don't know if this happens only to me and with the lenses I wear (Meyers Aqualens Aspheric UV Monthly) but with this solution, I can't last 8 hours without my eyes getting blurry and completely drying out. Something I never experience with Opti Free Express.

  • It is permanently connected to the water supply, but we have it activated (with the batteries inside, that is) only when we are away for days. So far, it has worked three five-day periods without any issues. The only disadvantage so far is the very poor construction of the battery compartment.

Well. The 5 stars refer to the quality of the appliance that I received today and its excellent performance in the first test. The comparison was made with a Candy CTY-105 (top loader) from 2009, which after 15 years had its belt break, but it wasn't worth the repair since it paid for itself. The new washing machine is silent compared to the old ONE both in washing AND in spinning (at 400 RPM) where the old one sounded like a helicopter.

And now to the main reason for this review. The 3 (at most) stars refer to the supporting material (user instructions and the smart feature) where Candy and the other companies in the group suffer A LOT, and justifiably there are many complaints from buyers.

    1st Oddity:
When you remove the packaging film, at the back you need to remove 4 screws (yellow circles) that hold "spacers" (plastic pieces that secure the drum during transport) from the inside. So while the 3 (white in the photo) fall inside as soon as you remove the screws, the top left one, which is of a different type (the black one in the photo) SHOULD NOT FALL into the void at all but remained stuck. I had to unscrew the back panel of the washing machine (another 7 octagonal screws) to remove it with bloodied fingers (literally) from inside. I don't know why they made this spacer of a different type, but its removal was a hassle for me. The manual available on the product's website not only does not help you with this specific part but confuses you even more.

    2nd Oddity:
If you download the hOn app to take advantage of the Wi-Fi features (besides the washing programs, it has useful information on when to clean the filter, when to do self-cleaning of the appliance, energy-saving tips, etc.), following the steps in the app at some point it asks you to hold down the button with the clock on the screen for 3" to pair. I spent about an hour faithfully following the app's instructions only to find out that what I needed to do was NOT to press the button on the washing machine for 3" as the app guided me (for information, on this model, this button DOES NOT pair) BUT THE WPS BUTTON on the router. The app's instructions DO NOT WORK.

    3rd Oddity:
The app has a very poor response time (it drags) even on an expensive smartphone with Android 14. You tap an icon and wait 10" for the next screen to load, which many times just stays blank and you have to go back.

    4th Oddity:
Registering the product for additional warranty on Candy's site is done through a form that only produces errors. Although the appliance is a washer-dryer, you must select "washing machine (independent)" from the list to get the model to appear. If you select "other" and write a business name, the registration produces an error. Only if you choose a seller from the already existing list does the registration proceed...

1st Addition: The consumption in dryer mode measured with the corresponding instrument is about 870 watts.

  • Unfortunately, it does not have a good fit on the back seats. The steering wheel cover (which was included as a gift) at the point where the two pieces are joined, does not have a good connection and scratches your palms when turning the wheel. It definitely is not worth more than 35-40 euros as a set and I would not buy it again.

The adapter supports SSD drives without external power supply and HDD drives with a 12V/2A or 12V/1.5A power supply (tested with both). Pay attention only to the volume type of the HDD. My "parked" one since 2020 (probably used as a backup disk in Windows 7) had a "dynamic" volume type and with this adapter, it didn't even appear as a disk with a drive letter in Windows 11 (although it appeared normally as a SATA-III on the motherboard)!! If the HDD is a "basic" volume type, NTFS or FAT32 with MBR or GPT, it will work fine. In terms of speed, for SATA-III HDD drives, you won't see any difference whether you use this adapter or connect the disk to SATA-II and SATA-III on the motherboard due to the low speed of the disk. The tests were performed with a Seagate ST3500413AS HDD drive (500GB).

Maybe I'm lucky with Kingston SSDs since I have 4 and none of them have had any issues.
In my main PC, I have the KINGSTON A400 480GB (SA400S37480G) for data and it has reached 10,000 hours of operation and almost 3,000 power cycles without experiencing almost anything!
    Power-On Hours/Cycle Count: 10039 hours
    Power Cycle Count: 2962
    Drive remaining life: 97%
The speeds in SATA-III are shown in the photo with the green indicators.
I just added an additional A400 120GB for the operating system (SATA-III speeds in the second photo),
replacing a Kingston HyperX Fury 120GB which reached 20,000 hours and I now have it in a USB 3.0 enclosure for file transfers only.
    KINGSTON SHFS37A120G (HyperX Fury)
    Power-On Hours/Cycle Count: 19631 hours
    Power Cycle Count: 6634
    Drive remaining life: 91%

    Verified purchase

Most of them have written in the other reviews. I just want to add what I found out: a) The length of the cables is sufficient for the midi tower I have (Thermaltake Commander GS-III), b) The most significant disadvantage I found is that it is relatively noisy.
