I have had the lamp for three months now for reading, and I do not regret it. It is very beautiful and it only gives light to the desk, which has helped me not to get distracted so often. When I don't use it at night, I fold it and set it to the lowest intensity, giving a soft ambient lighting to the room. Maybe it's worth noting that it doesn't open to 180 degrees but only as shown in the photo (135?), however, it was not a problem for me.
