I am coming back after a year since I wrote my review and I got infected with Covid for the second time. I had a family case and every day I did a nasal self-test because I had symptoms (mainly sore throat). Everything came out negative. I thought it couldn't be, I have symptoms, I am in Covid, I am definitely positive and the nasal test doesn't show it. So, I read some research about Omicron, which states that the virus can be detected more quickly through a throat sample or saliva. Given that I also work as a school nurse and a responsible person for Covid, I remembered that during the winter my students would test positive in the nasal tests of the school very late... on the fourth or fifth day of intense symptoms, in fact. And there I thought, why not do a saliva test... and BAM, it showed positive immediately. What I want to conclude is that there are other factors that play a role in determining whether a test is reliable or not, and one of them may be the mutation that the patient carries. REALY saliva and dry bread. And the second time it was reliable, and very honest for its price.

My personal experience is very positive (literally and metaphorically!) with this test. Although fully vaccinated, it showed me positive (without having any symptoms yet), while everyone else in my family tested negative. I thought the result was wrong, but on the same day I did rapid and PCR tests, which also came out positive (!). My family, as close contacts during quarantine, continued to do the same test every day, and the result was confirmed by rapid or PCR tests at the end of the week and always matched. It is practical, especially for young children, as it does not require the use of the annoying swab, you just spit into the cup that comes with the package. It may require some attention to the instructions for use. For example, I had difficulty understanding how much quantity should be put in the pipette the first few times. It also has a low cost. For the summer, I have already ordered about 15 to use during vacations. I really wonder about all the negative reviews. Maybe they are partly due to improper use, as most people are not familiar with the correct use of such over-the-counter kits.
