Purchased for 100 euros. The price is ridiculous for what it offers, so THIS REVIEW IS RELATIVE AND NOT ABSOLUTE. I believe that everyone should know beforehand what they are getting (and if they don't know, THEY SHOULD DO THEIR OWN RESEARCH, consumers are not helpless and ignorant beings).
Therefore, the review concerns the cost of its category!
First of all, I bought it as a very cheap solution to avoid using a screen, as blue light affects me a lot now that I use it for many hours. So we are talking about office work, mainly internet and office tasks. Occasionally, I watch a movie or video on YouTube.
The pros:
- For the price and maybe even more, it offers excellent image quality. It's not perfect, it's soft at the edges and doesn't focus uniformly, but overall, with the least possible compromises (in its category and above), it is a very high-quality solution.
It's enjoyable for movies and acceptable for office use (and probably the ONLY solution in the 100-200 euro range). I initially experimented with 40-50 inches, which didn't suit me, and I ended up with around 75 inches, where I work. I think anything over 90 inches will lose clarity, so it's good to take that into account. Besides, the brightness is not sufficient for many inches.
- The focus is easy, and the menu is also easy to navigate.
- DURABLE! (not street dogs, I mean shepherd dogs!) It works for 10+ hours every day for several months.
- Low power consumption due to LED.
The cons:
- The fan makes noise, especially during prolonged use, it becomes annoying. It's difficult to find silent projectors in the 300-400 euro range, maybe only on Amazon after extensive searching. Personally, I have searched and found, based on my experience, that it's worth investing in a quieter projector. The drawback is eliminated if you play some ambient music. It's not that it's completely silent (at the distance I am), but it no longer bothers me.
- The high-frequency noise from the power supply is particularly annoying, even with the machine closed.
- It emits some heat, so it's good to consider that the machine shouldn't heat up, although it's not something terrible, especially for short-term use.
- The actual brightness is 270 ANSI LUMENS. Don't even consider the "Chinese" lumens. I will come back with photos to help you understand what these actually mean, but in short:
In a dark room, it provides sufficient brightness for a 75-85 inch projection. It's a bit soft at this level, and it depends on whether you project on a wall (worse scenario) or on a screen (better scenario), and what type of screen it is. I wouldn't go for more inches on regular screens, except for those that are reflective but only suitable for one person.
In a dimly lit room with a lamp, it's okay (with a significant decrease in quality).
In semi-bright sunlight, it's difficult, quite challenging. There is a serious compromise, and you need to control the incoming light.
In bright light, it cannot project.
- It is an "open" optical circuit, which means it collects dust like ALL cheap projectors. After prolonged use, like mine, it starts to lose quality (clarity) of the image, etc. There is a cover underneath that needs to be opened, and the panel needs to be cleaned with a cotton swab and a little rubbing alcohol. So far, I have done it three times due to my hours of use, and I am going for the fourth time. I wouldn't say that I made it brand new since the lenses also collect dust, but I am still at good levels.
For lenses you need a blower, a special brush, and special optical liquid with a microfiber cloth. This applies to all projectors to keep the lens clean, especially if it is made of plastic which tends to collect more dust.
If I were to upgrade, what would I get? One that makes less noise and has 1000+ ANSI LUMEN. These are what interest me. If it had better uniformity, it would definitely be a significant bonus. How much would I give? 200-300 after A LOT of searching.
When I can, I will upload some indicative and useful photos for evaluation (especially of the lighting).
For 100 euros, about 10-15 stars...
