Crucial BX500 SSD 240GB 2.5'' SATA III

In both cases, the performance (speed) of the laptops increased significantly. Especially in the case of HP, the boot speed of Win-10 and programs was unreal.
2. The SSD - due to negligence - was found in the washing machine, along with the backpack (left in one of the pockets). When I discovered it, I thought it was useless. I was wrong... The BX worked as if nothing had happened. I put it back in the T420 (which I mainly use for watching movies), fearing that it would cause some problems in the near future. 4 years after its purchase and 2 years after the unfortunate incident, the BX240 works perfectly!! After this experience, when it's time for an SSD, I buy a Crucial BX without a second thought.
3. The 500GB one is quite "warmer" compared to the 240. The difference in their operating temperature reaches 8-10 ºC. At first contact with the BX500, I was worried. In the end, it turned out that the increased temperature of the BX500 does not affect either its performance or its durability over time.
4. The "Crucial Storage Executive" has an outdated appearance. Some versions are prone to crashes. They are usually fixed in the next update. It does its job... In addition to checking for firmware updates, it provides settings that further increase the performance and longevity of the SSD. If you don't absolutely need it, don't hesitate to allocate 10% of the storage space for "Over Provisioning" needs. In the long run, it will benefit you. Finally, by enabling the "Momentun Cash" feature, you will have a -small- additional gain in disk speed.
- Expected speed
- Reliability
- Consistent performance
- Value for money
- Management software
