Sony Camera Lens Fixed for Sony E Mount Black
at 2024-12-23Usually, I don't give 5 stars in a review, but in my humble opinion, this one is truly the best automatic medium zoom lens that has ever been released. It's only been a few days since I received it from a well-known store in Glyfada, and I am genuinely impressed by the work that Sony has done with this wonderful lens. The lens works on FX3, RV, A7SIII; let's hope in the near future on A1MKII, although they didn't make a significant upgrade from the previous version.
So, the GM, with just 900 grams and quite a small size, offers a very important range with a constant aperture of f/2, truly perfect. An incredibly sharp lens at all its lengths, with much less distortion at 28 compared to the Canon RF (which I also have with the Canon R5II; I've done a related review, but I will do a separate comparison for these two lenses).
The G Master, therefore, has amazing color performance with almost negligible focus breathing, which is crazy for an automatic zoom lens, extremely balanced without the barrel extending too much like in the 24-70 GMII. The well-known features are also mentioned in the description, such as the aperture adjustment from a dial, different buttons, a door on the lens hood, etc.; I won't elaborate on these.
I think this will become my second favorite lens after the 50mm GM f/1.2. I'm genuinely trying to find a negative about this lens; some mention the size of the front element at 86 millimeters as a downside, where the truth is, it is a bit of an odd size mainly because we are all used to the 82 millimeters, but it's not too bad for the filters that will be used. Personally, I always use a larger size of screw-on filter for several reasons; one of them is to avoid vignetting, but it also works well with a matte box with an adapter at 86 millimeters (I usually use the Tilta with two or three filters: one variable ND, one mist 1/4 or 1/8, and one variable polarized with the relevant mounts, etc., but also square fixed filters for other jobs). The cost of the matte box is enormous, but you can use a screw-on filter, e.g., Nisi True Color at 95mm, which I also work with, and it's perfect with an adapter at 86 millimeters; the result is superb.
It is a very expensive lens, of course; is it worth the 3.5k? My opinion is that if you are not making money from it, there is no reason to go for it, and the GM 24-70 MKII is perfect. I don't even mention the MKI because it is not worth the money at all; you can easily get a much better Sigma. Anyway, if you are a professional like me, a perfectionist, looking for even the smallest detail, wanting your work to stand out, to be easier, more enjoyable, and of higher quality, especially in this jumble (where everyone acts like a photographer and videographer with an A7MKIII and a Tamron lens), if you are a bit of a gadget lover, you like technology products, or simply don't care about money and have to invest in your work, then yes, you just buy it with your eyes closed without any second thoughts and without regrets.
*I will definitely return with further information in the future about this almost perfect lens from the G Master series. Here is my review for this lens, basically my first review on YT!!

Sony Camera Battery NP-FZ100 Lithium Ion (Li-Ion)
at 2024-12-01Verified purchaseExcellent recipe from Sony with these specific batteries, they work for all the alpha models, have satisfactory duration at half the price of the regular ones. Their capacity does not decrease so easily with the charging cycles, so for me, they are just fine. I have batteries from 2019 that work perfectly with minimal difference from the latest ones I've bought, and I have many, over 15, because I have almost the entire alpha series along with the FX3,6.

Canon Full Frame Camera Lens 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM Tele Zoom / Telephoto for Canon RF Mount White
at 2024-11-15The 70-200 mm 2.8 is a must-have for any photographer or videographer, so the RF is a wonderful zoom lens with amazing color performance, very fast focusing, lightweight, and very compact at 70 millimeters when closed, making it extremely easy to carry, especially for travel—you will love it. The only downside I find with this particular lens is the noise caused by the AF; I always compare it to the corresponding G Master lenses from Sony, which I also work with. Recently, Canon released a new series aimed primarily at video without the extension of the barrel, which is simply enormous and with an outrageous price close to €4000—it's laughable, even cauliflowers are laughing at Canon; even serious cine lenses don't cost that much, to say the least. Anyway, if you work with RF systems, my opinion is to get this one here, don't think about it at all; it's wonderful even for video, and as for the noise, you just get sound from another source and the matter is settled. I'm uploading some photos taken with the 70-200 with the R6 and one with the brand new R5 II, which combo is simply incredible. Happy shooting and enjoy working with your favorite lenses and cameras.

Canon Full Frame Camera Lens RF 28-70mm f/2L USM Standard Zoom / Wide Angle for Canon RF Mount Black
at 2024-11-15Perhaps one of the best mid-range zoom lenses.
We are using it with Canon R5II, R6, very sharp lens at all focal lengths, very bright, at 28 it has quite a bit of distortion, as well as its weight is a downside, the focus is also not silent and that's understandable because the glass elements are huge and very heavy so forget about having a microphone on the camera if it's for video.
I've heard something about Sony's equivalent, lighter, silent, and smaller, personally, since I only deal with video and work with Sony systems like FX3, 6, A7SIII, it will be my first choice when it is released.
So the RF is very expensive, but it is the epitome of automatic zoom lenses so far among all the mounts.
If you make money from the subject, you have advanced knowledge in photography and video, if you are a perfectionist or if the budget is not an issue for you, just buy it, otherwise, the 24-70mm f/2.8 is also great, which we have used as well.
Have a good time and happy shooting! -

Canon EOS R5 Mark II Mirrorless Camera Body Black
at 2024-10-15Just a week with the r5II, definitely positive impressions, but!! Incredible AF with various smart features to make your life easier, pre-shooting very clever if you’re doing wildlife, the 30 frames are just fine compared to the competition and the category, 8k video is simply indifferent and a trick to sell, but it has good 4k, the sound at 100 frames is just unnecessary, some ambassador-type guys find it a crazy upgrade, as if you shoot 100 frames to record sound on the camera, anyway, the full HDMI is very good, stabilization is fantastic, the screen is okay they could make an upgrade like the Sony a9III, as well as the viewfinder is not something wow but it’s just fine, the battery change from this series is a big foul as it essentially renders the previous ones useless while they are compatible to buy others because some functions of the camera do not work with the old one, as well as its consumption, it draws a lot of power especially with large lenses for a Greek wedding you need at least 4 batteries I’m talking about photos only and it’s among the most expensive of all companies, the upgrade was from r6 as I mention where the comparison is a bit pointless but I comfortably compare it with the Sony a7rv where the differences are fewer than their commonalities.
I am not a fanboy at all nor will I defend and justify purchases and choices, they are companies and they try to make money, the issue is what suits each person, what work they want to provide, how much they are willing to set aside for equipment renewal and how they want to facilitate their work. The reason we use 3 companies for our work is that no camera does everything well.
Canon is mainly used for photos since for video we use Sony fx3, and from the new year red komodo for more demanding jobs, the r5II will work almost exclusively for photos.
I will return again with extensive information regarding its behavior.
If it’s worth the 5k we will find out very soon, it’s not cheap at all of course we are talking about professional use but still the money just for the body is a lot if you add to the cart cf type b memory cards, reader, batteries, the new grip you’ve reached €6000 for fun without lenses. In my opinion, anyone buying such a body should have top-notch RF L lenses in their collection because the lenses are what really make the difference. The reason we haven’t replaced the r6 with r6II or r5 let’s say for so long was because we were buying the best RF lenses like rf28-70f/2, rf 85 f1.2, rf 70-200f/2.8 etc… After acquiring all these lenses we decided to upgrade the bodies, so if you don’t have top lenses it’s better to get a body for half or maybe even less money the result will be equally fantastic, that’s for sure.
I know many don’t like the truth and especially those who have never worked, but have never held serious tools in their hands but have a very strong opinion, there are of course those who say "Either this or Canon", of course I’m not addressing this kind of users, whatever someone who already works with top products says they will always have the opposite opinion.
We will see very soon in real conditions what exactly Canon did, as well as the issue with overheating and whether the 6K is really worth it!
Update 21-01-2021
The R5 II is an excellent camera with plenty of capabilities in photography; in video, it cannot match Sony no matter how hard it tries. The 5K it costs is not worth it at all; if it were priced under 4K, it would be an excellent choice at those pixels. However, changing systems is extremely costly, especially if you have bought 5-6 lenses costing around 3000-4000€ each.
Conclusion: If you own the R5 MK1, don't even think about the MK2; if you have the R6 or any other EOS R full-frame, an upgrade is only justified for purely professional use and nothing else. -

Canon Camera Battery LP-E6NH Lithium Ion (Li-Ion) 2130mAh
at 2024-06-19Verified purchaseQuite a good battery but after several charges it loses its maximum capacity, resulting in a disproportionately reduced duration with each cycle.
As for the very negative aspects, its price is almost double compared to the Sony batteries we also use, with the latter having a much longer lifespan for half the price.
But what can we do? In front of Canon's wonderful photo archive, we overlook this aspect.
