Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5 16ABR8 16" IPS FHD+ Touchscreen (Ryzen 7-7730U/16GB/512GB SSD/W11 S) Arctic Grey (GR Keyboard)
at 2023-10-01Verified purchasePositive:
- Excellent color accuracy on the screen, quite bright with good viewing angles. The 16:10 aspect ratio of the screen really helps with productivity as it fits more code/text on the screen.
- Excellent performance of the NVMe, minimizing loading time for any program.
- Good speakers and camera.
- Very good keyboard with small travel and backlight.
- Very good battery, lasts 5-6 hours of regular use and 1 hour of rendering/gaming. Charging takes 1 hour from 0% to 100%.
- Very user-friendly and useful Lenovo software for battery saving, widgets, pen program, etc., with plenty of settings.
- Very pleasant touchscreen, with a little attention it doesn't get smudged with fingerprints.
- Temperatures under control: obviously, during demanding tasks, the bottom part heats up and especially during battery charging. However, compared to other laptops that throttle, this device has very good heat dissipation and cools adequately with minimal fan noise. This is also helped by the space created in front of the fans when the screen reaches a certain angle and the laptop base is slightly lifted.
- The build quality (in general, the external casing, screen hinges, etc.) is very good and sturdy.Negative:
- The pen sometimes creaks slightly when dragged on the screen.
- The external casing is plastic, which means it can bend under pressure and is easily scratched.
- The touchpad is large but could be more user-friendly.Additionally, it is up to each individual's judgment as to whether its features (16 cores, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD, touchscreen, lack of dedicated GPU) are suitable for the intended use, so I do not mention them as positives or negatives, I simply confirm their validity.
Personally, I am very satisfied and consider this to be a good deal!
--> Update 9 months after purchase: for unknown reasons, the motherboard suddenly burned out and I sent it back to the dealership for repair. It was accepted and I was served very quickly, I had it back in my hands within a week with a replaced motherboard. The service center of Lenovo was very friendly, I must say. I imagine I was unlucky to have received a defective product, but time will tell.
