• They were installed very easily, correct fit on Passat 3B5 (photo). I don't care how long they will last in good working condition (I hope 2-3 years, although I see no reason they shouldn't last twice as long), the car has an "expiration date" due to its age.

  • Gift for my son-in-law. He is happy with it...

  • For its price, it is very good. It's not for "wintering" in the squares (it's thin), but for what I wanted it for - from the car to 500m for coffee - it's just fine and presentable.

  • Very good! I got it for fishing in the winter. I put an extra thermal insole ("aluminum") under the sole and you really don't feel anything. Of course, the two times I used it, it was not below 5°C, but compared to other shoes (insulated boots or winter sports shoes) it was like day and night. By accident, the sea covered it for a few seconds, but no water got in! Just if you plan to put an extra insole and thicker socks, definitely get one size bigger. I usually wear size 42 (I wear 42 2/3 in adidas), I got this in size 43 and it's just fine for long winter use. In general, I would say that the fit is rather narrow.

  • I wasn't particularly impressed. I am 1.74 / 75kg. It's Small and it fits me like a box, compared to the Medium I had bought before (US LVL II though). I didn't feel anything different compared to wearing a thin long-sleeve t-shirt, unlike the LVL II which you "felt". Thermal shirts from the brand "you burned me" might have done a better job... In any case, I will wear it a few more times and will come back for an increase - or decrease - in rating. Positive that I didn't feel any discomfort at all, and it didn't smell at all after 12 hours of wear at work (with quite a bit of movement).

  • Very good at doing its job (protection from cold). The only problem is that the openings for the eyes are very narrow. I will open the seam between the eyes. If it works, I will change the rating to 5*. As it is, it is problematic in its application.
Update: the 2 photos were taken after the modification I made to the eye area. I believe it will be fine, but I will get back after testing it in external cold conditions.
Update 170125: For its price, it is excellent. At 2°C and very humid, when I wore it while fishing, it felt like I was taking a spring walk in the park... Could it be better in the details? Yes, but I guess not at this price

  • Recent purchase from Fishing Planet (12/24). I knew from other people's comments that some things (not significant) in the mechanism are of very low quality. I realized this within the first hour of the first fishing trip when the cap on the handle of the mechanism came off without any pressure, leaving the spot exposed to sand for future problems (I eventually glued it, as it wouldn't fit back on by itself or some part was lost). Otherwise, its performance in fishing in rough seas with many clumps of seaweed (thus weight/resistance for the mechanism) was very good. This particular rod didn't catch any fish, but the operation of the mechanism under such conditions was very good and smooth, while I didn't notice any other signs of "cheap work"... I will return for re-evaluation after a few fishing trips.
Update 050125 2nd fishing: For a purchase up to €80, it seems good. For anything more, prefer something better (e.g., the Shimano XC14000 I bought for €98 is a class above, however you compare them).
Update 100125 3rd fishing: FOR THE TRASH! For the first time in 30 years of fishing, the mechanism's pickup disintegrated out of nowhere. This has never happened to me even with the cheaper Chinese ones! I wonder about the good ratings on various sites. Useless...
After contacting the company (17-18 days from receipt), they told me that the mechanism cannot be replaced after the 14th day. So if you buy it, camp out in a beach for 2-3 days in winter to make sure it won't ...fall apart on you, with no prospect of replacement. However, I can send it for repair for free if I'm not responsible for the damage... (as if to say, I just bought it and started to ...break it, to see ...how it’s made). Free (I assume) repair, €20-25 for shipping since I don't live in Athens...
Update 180125: Finally, after communicating with the store, I sent the mechanism with their shipping charge for repair. I will return once it is repaired and I try it again.

  • I have been using the 0.35mm for many years. I chose the 0.40mm mainly for winter, as I fish in rough weather and often get clumps of seaweed/branches caught while reeling in the line, which puts a strain on it and increases the chances of it breaking. Something you definitely don't want when you catch a fish... I have tried much more expensive lines, but I was not satisfied at all. The cost/performance ratio of this particular line is very favorable. You just need to check it occasionally for wear due to things like debris in the sea or rocky bottoms, and if you fish all summer, then you should "replace" it (flip it front to back...).

  • I hadn't tried the XB10000 (older model), but this is a "beast." It's not far from the truth to say that the power needed to bring its weight to shore is almost the same as that needed to bring in a 1.5kg bass... It doesn't feel anything. I didn't choose the XB10000 because it was a much older model and would probably be replaced. Of course, the XC14000 has the disadvantage that it requires 350m of 0.40mm line (as if I were fishing in the Atlantic)... In about 6 months, I will "turn" the line "back and forth" and it will last at least 1 year with the initial filling. I would describe its weight as normal for serious surfcasting. As for its quality, it shows in every detail. It's no coincidence that the only "reels" of mine that survive & work properly from purchases 7-10 years ago are only Shimano...

  • I got one for myself and a friend, exclusively for data transfer between devices. It works great for that specific role!
