No comparison to the old version. I don't understand how you can call something "V2" meaning that it is the "new and improved" version of the old and end up with a product that is worse in every way.

Very good for its price. Average build quality as expected for its cost (€45). Small, comfortable, and easy to use. It is not suitable for heavy use, of course. It is great for light and occasional use. It heats up very quickly and starts to burn your hands even on soft solid wood such as pine. You can also use it on denser woods like oak, but always be careful with the cutting depth and speed (feed and speed as they say in my village) because it is not meant for heavy-duty tasks. I used it with medium-quality cutting tools (this also plays an important role). Overall, it is commendable.

It is essentially a powerful windproof lighter.
Very good for its price. It is worth it for its practicality and ease of use.

It is slightly larger in diameter than a regular electric soldering iron (in the photo it is shown next to an Antex). Inside the cylindrical nozzle, there is a grid that ignites and heats the tip. It takes only 30-40 seconds to reach a temperature sufficient to melt the solder. I have never used a gas soldering iron before, and the fact that there is no cable to drag around makes the job much more comfortable. One refill is enough for about 20-30 minutes of continuous use. Perfect for small jobs. It can be filled with common propane/butane canisters for lighters.

It only requires a little caution because there is a hole 2 centimeters from the tip for the gas to escape from the burner. This hole releases a considerable amount of heat, and if the area we want to solder has other nearby cables, it may melt their insulation, so it should not be aimed at things we do not want to heat up. It is good, as with electric soldering irons, to tin the nozzle and tip before the first use because, as known, heat immediately oxidizes metals.

The flame intensity adjustment it has is a bit useless. If you increase it above 1/4, it starts to release gas irregularly and with interruptions, resulting in it going out. However, it is not that important since even at 1/4, it heats up very quickly and does its job properly.

Very good quality of materials, construction, and good ergonomics. The jaws are made of good, hard steel and seem like they won't easily wear out. I didn't expect anything less from Knipex. You pay once and have a tool for life.
