The BOYA BY-M1 microphone is compatible with smartphones, DSLRs, Mirrorless cameras, video cameras, audio recorders, Mac and Windows computers.
The omnidirectional pickup pattern provides full 360° coverage and the 6.10-meter cable ends in a gold-plated 3.5mm TRRS plug.
The lapel microphone is powered by the included LR44 battery and features a battery on/off switch.
When using the microphone with a smartphone, you can turn off the battery as the power is supplied through the smartphone.
For use with a camera, turn the power switch so that the power is supplied by the battery.

I use it purely amateurishly for YouTube! For its price (I bought it for about 18 euros), it is a very good upgrade that you can make to your sound! It includes a battery in the packaging, and it has a power switch from the battery and not from the source so that you can use it on a camera or wherever the headphone output does not provide power! Also, very long cable.

The difference in quality is chaotic if you consider the cost!
This microphone is a replica, i.e. a fake of the popular model boya by-m1. This is evidenced by the half-discharged battery, the differences in the packaging of the original from what I received, the presence of stripes on the microphone plug, which are not present in the original model or even in the photo, and, of course, a very noisy sound.
I didn't imagine it would be this good. Very good sound even from a distance. It easily clips onto clothing (like those of journalists on television). You don't need to have it right in front of your mouth. Get it with your eyes closed. You have to put the battery inside the microphone. It has a very long duration. If you're worried it might run out quickly, you can turn off the microphone using the switch it has. In any case, it changes very easily.
Quite good, and in terms of quality, I can say that it is quite high-quality especially for its price.
If you want a simple microphone to get the job done, it is just right.
For the money, it's the best thing. We've been using it for a year now and it's working great, you don't need to be on top of it, and it does its job well even from a distance.

Use on a computer. It does what it promises! It works even without a battery, as long as a splitter (Headphones - Microphone) is used, where only the microphone plug will be used.
Tested only indoors directly on mobile and on a sound card. Awesome for its price! I was satisfied!
If I could give more stars, I would!! I have owned this particular microphone for almost a year now. I am a video creator and a microphone was essential for upgrading my equipment. I have nothing but great things to say about this mic, the sound quality is exceptional, the build quality is excellent, it is simply the perfect product for its price, I highly recommend it!!
For its price, it is perfect and more. I believe it is worth giving an extra 10 euros to get the pro, but this one is also very good!
Very good product, the only negative thing is that sometimes, even though the cable is wrapped, it produces some interference that luckily goes away with a little music, but it's better for those who buy it to unwrap the cable before using it

Unbelievable microphone guys... Even in windy conditions, it only recorded my voice, very clearly. For its price, I am honestly amazed. Except for the fact that the first one I received was defective, buy it, just buy it... for all uses
Well, the microphone is not worth its money at all. It constantly makes a noise when I make videos and it becomes very annoying. Also, the switch it has sometimes works and the build quality is not good either. Finally, I have to mention that it requires a battery, so I recommend another microphone from the same company and at the same price, the Boya BY-MM1, which is battery-free and has perfect sound.
I will agree with many that it gives better sound (for video recording) than the microphone of the mobile or the microphone of the headphones.
Starting by saying that I have the Samsung S7, which means that the 3.5 mm jack does NOT recognize it as a microphone.
With 5 euros from a Chinese store, I found an adapter that has two outputs, one for sound and one for a microphone.
It worked perfectly!!!
Always considering its (plastic) characteristics, I consider it a good choice. Clear sound (I don't have intensity in my voice but I sound clear), practical clip to support it wherever it is convenient, very good cable.
I have to say that I had a little difficulty placing the battery. I used the tip of a screwdriver, pressing the spring to insert the battery.

Good product, it records clear sound. It works without adjusting anything on Xiaomi Redmi 8 Pro, Xiaomi Redmi Note 11, on an HP laptop with a dual jack (headphones & microphone together) you need to lower the gain a bit, as well as on a PC but there, because I don't have a dual jack (I have separate ports for headphones & microphone - case: BeQuiet Pure Base 500) an adapter is needed. For its price, I did not expect it to have such good quality. I use it exclusively for recording voice in video presentations on YouTube and I can say that I am very satisfied with the sound. I recommend it for someone who wants a good external microphone without wanting to spend a fortune.
The microphone has amazing performance. I used it on a smartphone. Besides being very easy to apply and use, the most important thing is that it provides clear, crystal-clear sound and isolates the surrounding noises. I couldn't have bought anything better. I use it for the videos I make and the sound is excellent. Strong and clear. The length with the 6 meters seems quite long for my needs, so I leave the cable wrapped up, but for someone who wants to use it outdoors, for example, to move away from their phone or camera, it is very convenient. I highly recommend it. It won't put you through the process of isolating the sound yourself, searching for sound improvement programs (after recording). Finally, it's a great value for money purchase, as for around 12 euros if I remember correctly, you get a high-performance microphone that can compete with much more expensive ones.

It's worth buying. For its price, the quality it has is excellent. Even in an outdoor space with a little wind, there won't be a problem, thanks to the included pop filter in the package. The only thing you need to be careful about is that when you have it in a closed space, it should have decent sound insulation.
I wasted 17 euros, I really spent over 5 hours on this microphone doing all the tests I could, but nothing. Many interferences just because I touched the cable. As a result, the headphones of my phone do a much better job

I bought it for use on YouTube. I was impressed with its performance! Very clear, powerful sound without noise. It can be connected to a laptop as well as a mobile phone (redmi note 8) and it has a very long cable for longer shots. I think it's one of the best value for money products!

A year ago, I bought four pieces and I use them regularly for professional broadcasting purposes, either with a DSLR camera or with an external audio recorder, directly connected to the devices or through a sound console or by applying them to wireless transmitters that accept a 3.5mm jack.
Although initially I was quite biased, the result is excellent, high-quality, without lacking anything compared to much more expensive lavaliere microphones of the mid-range category, of the same size. Even if they have any problem or permanent damage, their very low (almost ridiculous) cost (19-25€) does not leave you exposed since you can replace them by buying the same ones again. It is also positive that they have a long cable, without the need for additional cable extensions.
So far, they have not presented me with any problems at all, and even if they do, their cost has already been amortized and more. I have also bought various other BOYA audio accessories and I have no complaints. This specific company does an excellent job in terms of audio equipment and at a very low cost. For those who wrote that they received defective ones, unfortunately, they must have come across a defective batch (something that happens with all companies).
I highly recommend this specific lavaliere microphone.
P.S.: Try to use them with branded batteries (LR44) which will ensure a guaranteed and quality use. (With frequent use, I changed the batteries after six months!). Pay attention to the ON/OFF switch, do not forget to turn it off after use and storage, even though they only function when the microphones are connected to the audio devices.
