Mountain running shoes for medium and long distances with good shock absorption, excellent grip, and secure footing. Also great for hiking. In more detail:
Shock absorption: 8/10. They cannot be compared to extra cushion shoes for asphalt, but they have a tight and moderate shock absorption that really works (less than the Hoka Speedgoat 4). After 2 half marathons on rough terrain with a lot of pounding on the downhill, the feet and especially the laces were in very good condition. Compared to the Salomon Sense Ride 2 that I previously had, which had the shock absorption of a wooden sandal, these are far superior. On asphalt, they are quite hard, and I would choose a second pair of shoes.
Fit: 10/10. Having very narrow feet, I had no difficulty bringing the shoe where I wanted. The materials around the ankle collar are somewhat hard, as are several areas of the upper that really lock the foot almost perfectly, giving a sense of security on any terrain. The front toe guard is very useful and really saves you from painful collisions with rocks and branches. Overall, their fit is narrow, and I'm afraid it may not suit people with wide feet. As for the size, it's really a mystery where you will end up. According to La Sportiva's size charts, I should wear a 43, but after trying them on, I ended up with a 45. In Nike, Adidas, Salomon, I wear a 44, and in Hoka, a 44 and 2/3. It's better to try them on first in a store. They may not fit you in width or length.
Material quality: 10/10. Undoubtedly, the materials are very good and convince you of their quality and durability. There is not the slightest wear after 80 km, neither on the upper nor on the sole.
Grip: 10/10. Tested on mud, dirt, uphill, downhill, and rocky trails, I can say that it is a shoe that inspires confidence and can handle anything. It doesn't slip anywhere, steps with certainty, and gives you the feeling that you can push uphill with your toes. The rocks don't cut your feet, and the shoe's geometry doesn't allow for left and right turns.
Breathability: 9/10. Very good breathability. It is not waterproof, but it dries quickly when wet.
Weight: 7/10. The Achilles' heel of the shoe. It is relatively heavy. In my size, it weighs 355 grams, while the Salomon Sense Ride 2 weighed 277 grams. Quite a difference that you can feel while running. All this protection and secure footing come at a price, and that is probably it. The Akasha 2 will be lighter and have reinforced shock-absorbing material under the sole.
Conclusion: An excellent shoe for mountain running on any type of terrain. The only drawback is its weight and the peculiar fit, which may not suit wider feet.Translated from Greek ·- Comfort

Excellent quality, they need a little breaking in at the beginning, asphalt and concrete effortlessly, but their element is dirt and hard terrains. Wet dirt mud haven't tried yet, I reserve judgment.

Well, it is extremely comfortable with a perfect fit for running, very good shock absorption to the point that after many hours on trails, it keeps your feet pain-free and simply ignores the type of terrain you have under your feet.. They swallow everything and don't slip ANYWHERE... The only thing you need to be careful about is that they fit tightly, so you definitely need a size larger than your regular running shoe size!!

Did you find this review helpful?Although I am a "fanatic" of HOKA, for some reason the Speedgoat 4, which is a trail shoe, felt too bulky for me, so I decided to look elsewhere. This particular shoe, although the brand didn't really catch my eye for some unknown reason, is truly a serious trail shoe in every sense of the word.
I have never felt my foot more stable in a shoe and overall it gives you a tremendous sense of security in your steps.
It is definitely not a coincidence that it has been on the market for so many years without changing (I think almost 5).
I recommend it with closed eyes, just be cautious about the size because it's a bit mysterious. If it helps, I wear a 44 2/3 in HOKA (in all models) and here the 45 fit me perfectly.

Did you find this review helpful?Owner of this shoe since September and having covered 500km, I have to say that they are very high quality, very sturdy, and fit comfortably on the foot while holding it incredibly well. The longest distance I have done is 20km and as soon as I took off the shoes, my feet were fine without any pain, which means they have very good shock absorption. They have very good grip on downhill slopes without slipping. They breathe well and if they get wet, they dry relatively quickly. Overall, they are a very good shoe for running in the mountains and on the most difficult and rugged trails. Definitely go for 1 to 1.5 sizes larger than what you normally wear because they have a narrow fit on the inside.

The only thing I can criticize it for, just so I don't make it 100% perfect, is the grip on steep descents, and that's not so dramatic. Update 09.01.21, they have covered 300plus km on the rocky trails of Attica, the shock absorption is satisfactory and the sole is still almost new. We're talking about tools.

Very good grip on rocky terrain and tireless for the foot, I have run 2 mountain marathons as well as 6-7 half marathons + several training sessions and they still hold up, if I were to change them again, I would get the same ones. I highly recommend them.
