Description

The G.Skill Aegis, taking its name from ancient Greek mythology, "Aegis" the shield of Zeus, is aimed at users who demand high performance and stability from their computer.


DDR4

DDR4 is the fourth generation of RAM memory technology for computers. It replaces DDR3 and offers increased speeds and capacity.

It offers operating speeds from 2133MT/s to 4800MT/s, response time (CAS Latency) from CL 9 to CL 22, while its capacity has increased up to 32GB per memory module.

For speed (MT/s) and capacity (GB), the larger size we choose, the better performance we will have in our system, while for response time (CL), we want the smallest size for the speed (MT/s) we have selected.

The above characteristics should be compatible with our motherboard specifications.

Aegis provides speed at 2400MT/s, with CL15 and 4GB per memory module.

Compatibility

The DDR4 technology is compatible with specific motherboards and processors. Specifically, DDR4 is compatible with Intel Skylake, Kaby Lake, Coffee Lake series processors, as well as the latest Intel processors, and with AMD Ryzen and Threadripper series processors.

However, for compatibility with your motherboard, you must ensure that your motherboard supports DDR4 technology from the manufacturer. Compatibility depends on the processor platform and the type of motherboard you are using.

XMP & EXPO

The XMP & EXPO is a technology that allows us to increase the frequency and performance of our computer's memory, without the need for manual settings. XMP/EXPO is easily activated from the BIOS, is available on certain RAM memories, and is supported by certain motherboards.

The G.Skill Aegis DDR4 RAM has an XMP 2.0 profile with the following specifications:

  • Speed (XMP 2.0): 2400 MT/s
  • CAS Latency (XMP 2.0): 15-15-15-35
  • Voltage (XMP 2.0): 1.20V


Cooling & Design

The aluminum material, along with its high-quality construction, helps keep the memory RAM and the entire computer at a relatively low temperature and stability even during demanding operations.

    While in the photo it personally seems to me that it has a cooler, it has nothing to do with a sticker, it is otherwise a simple RAM from a good company. For me, it is better for someone to spend 6-7 euros more and go for a HyperX which has both warranty and a cooler. The only reason I am giving it 3 stars is because it doesn't have a cooler. Otherwise, it is a simple RAM.
