It's a plastic jug that does the job, and it withstood being dropped many times. It has too many nooks and crannies around its base where it connects to the motor unit, which makes it a real nightmare to clean if any debris manage to get in there. The handle also consists of 2 plastic parts that trap liquids easily, and are nearly impossible to separate and clean. I didn't even dare to do so, because they look very flimsy.
