  After several years of shaving with various cheaper closed type razors and with a safety razor, I can say that an open type razor is by far better. What I noticed with closed type razors is that precisely because they do not clean easily, hairs get trapped near the blade and it is those same hairs that cause the cuts.
  In the case of the R41, it cleans extremely easily even with 6-day-old stubble, which is also the reason why you don't cut yourself easily. By using simple red Astor razor blades, I managed to shave every 2 days. One thing is for sure, it doesn't require many passes and the more you shave with the weight of the razor, the less it irritates the skin. So far, the only way I managed to cut myself was by moving the razor horizontally and not vertically (expected of course).
  With a little attention at the beginning and experience, I will never go back to a closed type razor.

  Very satisfied, it provides a close shave but not for everyday use, it's for a maximum of 2 times a week (of course, the blade also plays a role, as with any razor). Also, such type of razors requires a good foam for the face, not too dry.

  I am new to shaving in general, and after a few uses of multi-blade razors, I searched for something less irritating to my skin. This is my first traditional shaving machine and I was anxious about its "aggressiveness". In the first shave, I only cut myself once and it was on a pimple. But after getting used to it, you realize that it is not difficult to use at all, as well as understanding where you need to move more carefully. No irritation after shaving and there is the bonus of the pleasant smell of the soap.

  It takes a little more time because it requires some attention and preparation, but it cuts the hair very well and the skin becomes very smooth with just one pass. I highly recommend switching to traditional shaving (less irritation, cheaper). Ultimately, from what I have heard and from my own experience, this specific R41 is a wonderful machine to consider.

  I have been shaving for over 15 years (Gillette Mach3, etc.) and after watching videos on YouTube about traditional shaving, I really liked the idea and joined the club myself.
  Although I shave every 3rd to 5th day and I am new to traditional shaving, I took the plunge and went for this open comb R41.
  With the right process (brush soaking, good soap, proper lathering on the face, etc.), I can say that I have been doing great!
  I use Perma Sharp razor blades.
  As for the razor itself, it has a nice weight and looks like a jewel.
