I recently bought the shoes, mainly because I wear Asics on the road and decided to try them for the mountains. They were baptized in the Dirfys race, on Saturday in the 4km downhill and on Sunday in the 15km.

On the positive side, they are very well made, I emphasize the protection they have around the toes and the construction of the heel which is hard. Incredible grip, and indeed in the 15km where there was a muddy spot, they didn't lose any traction at all. Also, they didn't hold any mud at the end of the race. The FF blast foam is a guarantee, it's a bit denser than the road version, but with good responsiveness. Very comfortable, they won't tire you out and the fit is good with space for the toes.

On the negative side, they are not very suitable for steep descents. This is due to the fact that the foot moves inside the shoe because of the comfort materials. No matter how tight you pull the laces on a steep descent, the foot moves. It's a downside that all shoes with a comfortable upper have, so you expect it.

4.5 stars because of this, otherwise an excellent shoe.
