The firmware upgrade enables the ability to output RAW video data via HDMI to be stored as ProRes RAW on ATOMOS NINJA V+ and NINJA V HDR monitor-recorders.*
Blackmagic RAW data can also be recorded on Video Assist 12G HDR
By using a CFexpress Type B card (MOV, 5.7K, 5728x3024, 29.97p/25.00p/24.00p), you can internally record videos with ProRes 422 HQ and ProRes 422 encoding, the industry's professional standard, which provides high image quality with low compression. This significantly reduces the size during computer processing and allows for non-linear editing (NLE) without transcoding, improving your workflow from start to finish.
Firmware version 2.0 supports 59.94p/50.00p in C4K (4096x2160) and FHD (1920x1080).
With firmware version 2.2, recording and playback using an external SSD connected via USB is supported. Additionally, the ability to record in Apple ProRes422 HQ (up to 1.9 Gbps) and 4:2:2 10-bit All-Intra directly to SSDs, which combine portability and high capacity, has improved efficiency in data backup and subsequent processing.
With the DMW-SFU3A software upgrade key (sold separately) and firmware version 3.0, users can use ARRI LogC3*, which allows color matching with ARRI digital video cameras.
With anamorphic capabilities 5.7K (5728x3024) 4:2:0 10-bit 60p/50p (17:9) and 5.8K (5760x4320) 30p/25p/24p 4:2:0 10-bit (4:3), the LUMIX GH6 offers higher resolution and bit rates than ever before and delivers the latest in high-quality image, flexibility, and expressive range required for movies, television, and all types of video production.
The first LUMIX to offer internal recording 4:2:2 10-bit C4K/4K 60p/50p, the GH6 offers unlimited recording time* when used at the recommended operating temperature**. Ideal for small production teams and in demanding conditions where portability and high quality are essential. It also allows simultaneous internal and external recording via HDMI output.
The Dual I.S.2 with 5-axis image stabilization combines body and lens image stabilization to offer 7.5 stop correction
High-resolution slow-motion recording, which has recently become quite popular in video production, is now possible using C4K/4K 10-bit 120p/100p HFR (high-frame-rate) video recording with sound. The LUMIX GH6 also offers a wide range of ALL-Intra 10-bit recording functions for high-spec editing, so you can shoot FHD 240p/200p HFR video and FHD 240fps VFR (variable frame rate). With VFR, you can record video in ultra-slow motion up to 12.5x (FHD 10-bit 24p/300fps).
The new Venus Engine processor provides approximately twice the power as before, allowing for high-speed processing of the larger number of pixels of the new sensor and higher resolution and higher bitrate video. Image quality performance has also been significantly improved. The "New Intelligent Detail Processing" offers higher resolution, while the new 2D and high-performance 3D noise reduction (for video) optimize noise reduction. The result is natural, three-dimensional images with minimal noise even at high sensitivity. The high-precision 3D Dual Color Control achieves improved color reproduction (brightness, saturation, and hue), resulting in more faithful and rich color rendering.
The LUMIX GH6 features the first 25.2 Megapixel Live MOS sensor of the Micro Four Thirds™ system. Without a low-pass filter, its design allows for more pixels and higher resolution, capturing exceptionally realistic details. The higher readout speed provides C4K/4K 120p video recording and burst shooting at 75 frames per second using the electronic shutter, while minimizing rolling shutter distortion.

A gh5 with better stabilization system and a stop on ISO. For people who shoot weddings and film up to 4K, I don't see anything more that the gh6 can offer. From comparing the image with the gh5 using the same lens and settings, I didn't see any difference... If the price drops below 1800 euros, it's okay for the stabilizer and the extra stop...
As for the negatives, it has a volume that resembles a DSLR, it's heavy, it has 2 different memory card slots, it has no autonomy (at most 1 hour), and if you use the Dynamic range as a command, it improves the background but the image produces noise in the blacks above 1600 ISO. Overall, as a model, it doesn't have the success of the GH5.
