The everlasting succulents Sempervivum are known for their rosettes of leaves, which have particular ornamental value. These rosettes are distinguished by their shape and colors, which change according to the season, with most colors appearing from spring to the end of summer.

They are perennial succulents belonging to the Crassulaceae family. Their name comes from the Latin semper (forever) and vivus (alive). The genus Sempervivum includes 40 species, characterized by their unique leaf rosettes.

An additional feature is their ground cover ability. Depending on soil and climate conditions, they grow quickly and can cover a large area. They thrive in poor, well-drained, moderately moist soils and prefer sunny locations in cool climates.
