Detailed objective review and comparison with Xiaomi pad 6.
In summary for the tablet: a budget-priced (300€ 8gb/256gb) tablet with a very premium build and features that give the feeling of a 700€ tablet. Purchased mainly for use outside the home, for watching movies, browsing, and playing games, but also for lounging on the couch and bed at home. It does all 3 VERY well with a very satisfactory battery life. With the same exact usage from real experience, the Xiaomi pad 6 holds about 20% less battery due to its smaller battery size and the management by the Snapdragon 870.
On the basics: in terms of screen experience, they have the exact same panel which is 12bit with different pixel ratio and size, and if you put these two side by side, the screen of the pad 6 wins in the eye. 120hz vs 144hz, this refresh rate applies to browsing scrolling, etc. but not to games and movies, so only in numbers does the pad 6 win, in reality you can't distinguish the difference, they will satisfy you exactly the same! The higher PPI wins in the pad 6 as well as the peak brightness which, although lower in the pad 6 at 600nits compared to 550nits, due to the PPI 250 vs 310, it appears brighter, something that of course has an application if the device is used outside with daylight, however, both are very satisfactory... in gaming and movie experience, they have the same great color performance and neither disappoints. Now comes the personal need of each for the size we have 12.1 vs 11 and already the 11 inches is big so the 12.1 might be too much!
As for the sound, in the Xiaomi Redmi Pad Pro, its 4 stereo speakers give it a big plus in clarity and sound performance... a movie with Dolby Atmos support from Netflix/Disney Plus, etc. in a closed quiet environment like a room, for example, has a VERY good performance. Distinct sounds from effects and very clear.
Regarding gaming performance, only some very demanding games with selected max graphics like Genshin Impact/Amikin Survival (Palmworld-like mobile game) win the pad 6. Games like PUBG play perfectly on both! The pad 6 runs smoother but heats slightly more and in the same period has consumed more battery compared to the Xiaomi Redmi Pad Pro. Therefore, if you just want to play and don't play the latest game titles with max graphics on the tablet, the difference in performance between the two is imperceptible, while at the same time the Xiaomi Redmi Pad Pro remains cooler and lasts longer...
Where the Xiaomi Redmi Pad Pro wins over the pad 6 is in multitasking, as through the software for split screen that favors it, you can do 2 things simultaneously in two apps without any delay, lag, or crashes. The apps remain more open in the background, full buffered without losing data, which makes switching between apps noticeably faster than the Pad 6, which manages apps like a mobile phone. Regardless of the better processor of the Pad 6, many times in everyday use the Redmi Pad Pro is faster, BUT neither of the two disappoints.
To avoid further elaboration, I will say the following, both are very much worth their money. If you didn't have or have any of the latest iPad models that cost x2.5 or x3 the price of these two, then you won't be disappointed by either of them. Overall, the redmi pad pro is a good tool-tablet while the Pad 6 is a good tablet but not such a good tool. It depends on the use you want to make.
My opinion, having used both for about a week daily, is objective and not according to benchmarks and numbers. If I didn't take it out of the house, I would choose the Pad 6 for the slightly better screen and gaming performance. Overall, though, the redmi pad pro satisfies me a bit more. What I was able to distinguish between the two happened because I had both side by side. If you exclude the size difference, if someone used each of them at a different time without having them side by side, they wouldn't know which one is better. They are very close.
They are worth their money (300€ redmi pad pro- 325€ pad 6) and this was the maximum amount of money I set, so I won't compare them with anything more expensive. The first one was recently released, so we have 2024 release versions compared to 2023 for the Pad 6, but they now wear the exact same software version, so it doesn't matter much.
