With three cats and two (open) litter boxes inside the house, this litter has freed us from odors, combined with half a tablespoon of baking soda in each box every 2-3 days.
Pros:
- Excellent at eliminating odors
- Biodegradable, so I scoop the waste into a dustpan and throw it in the toilet
Cons:
- The price
- Wet waste sometimes doesn't clump well and breaks apart
It is excellent. I have had it for twenty days already, I believe it will last a month but just barely. It doesn't smell, it makes good clumps, it obviously needs daily cleaning. I didn't do a gradual transition from sand, and the little cat got used to it, but sometimes she does her business outside the litter box, but that has to do with the cat itself (she does it when she gets stressed). It doesn't produce clumping materials, it doesn't raise dust, I wish it had a better price.
Very good product, does what it promises (clumps easily and covers odors). The only issue is that the clumps break apart very easily and it's almost impossible to clean it.
The product is generally good. Personally, I found the smell slightly strong mainly because it clings to the cat's fur and follows her to the point where after a while you just find it disgusting or at best, you get tired of it. Certainly, if there is an unflavored tofu pellet, I would prefer that for my next purchase. And it would definitely be good for the company to slightly reconsider their prices downwards if they want to remain competitive in the Greek market. After all, when the production cost of one kilogram of tofu pellet is estimated around €0.35-0.85/kg and the price is at €4/kg (not liters), it is obvious that the company's profit remains large, and I reasonably believe that they can lower their prices. Especially since in Canada, where salaries/pensions are much higher, it sells for about CAD 42.99, which corresponds to about €29 and is certainly sold with some serious profit for the resellers and the company. Unless, of course, cat owners are considered by default to be of high society!
Positives
-Clearly, the house is freed from the most unpleasant odors, but I believe that with regular daily cleaning, which every single litter box needs, things are quite bearable even without scented sand/pellet.
-It does clump quickly, and it’s equally positive that you can dispose of it directly in the toilet bowl. You save effort and time.
-Much less litter is carried by the cat around the litter box since it doesn't get transported very far like sand and doesn't scatter as easily. However, some still stick to their paws, depending on the cat and the mess caused during digging/covers or the type of litter box you have.
Negatives
-Very high price
-A scent that becomes tiring to the nose because while it is not overly strong, it tends to become so as it is transferred through the cat's own fur.
-Duration. Here, things obviously depend on many factors such as the size of the cat, the frequency of using the litter box. However, the rule applies that the manufacturer gives a nominal value that is calculated under ideal conditions as they see it and inflates the numbers up to the legal limit they can. However, based on personal experience, I estimate that there is no way this quantity (18lt-3 packages of 6) will last for 60 days as the company claims, perhaps barely reaching 30 days and that really with difficulty, unless the litter box is not cleaned regularly. So, combined, this makes the product even more expensive for use given the frequency of changing and purchasing that will be needed.
P.S. The 18lt/7.2kg package barely lasted 20 days (kitten 7-8 months old, weight 4-4.5kg)
Very good, the quality is evident in its price... without odors and dust that I wanted for the living room. The cats got used to it immediately, if they have the option of the litter box in another room
I have written a detailed review for the red packaged tofu.
The only thing I have to say about it is: it is the most delicious thing I have ever smelled in my life. Like milk chocolates?
Attention, do not eat it.
