The phone is flawless, it doesn't heat up much as some mention (maybe a little more under certain conditions, but we'll see in the summer how much of a problem it is). As a compatible device with 6.2 inches and such a powerful processor, it's reasonable to have some heat. As for Samsung's One UI, if you have another phone, get a Samsung just for that, honestly. Its battery will last you almost an entire day, almost always. Personally, because I use the phone quite a bit for YouTube, movies, social media, etc., where video and social media consume a lot of battery, I would say you can watch 7-8 hours of video (and reels/TikTok videos count) on a Wi-Fi connection, which is a satisfactory number (generally, I've noticed it consumes about ±10% per hour of screen-on time on Wi-Fi and maybe ±15% per hour of screen-on time in combination with data/Wi-Fi). If you're not watching videos and not playing games, the phone will last a day without any issues and you'll have 30-40% left in the evening. 4 stars and not 5 strictly because of the battery, which, although satisfactory, could have been better for a phone in its category
I have had the phone for about 6 months, it is a very powerful choice, amazing screen, very loud and quality speakers, the fingerprint sensor is very fast, the speed of the phone is quite good, the camera didn't particularly impress me to be honest, and the battery easily lasts a day and
Coming from the S22, I didn't find any significant difference. Unfortunately, the photos don't have vibrant colors and compared to the S22, it is much inferior in this area. For now, this is the only negative I see and I can't say it's negligible for me.
I changed it after two years, while I usually keep my phones for four. The S22 had given me quite a few problems, and the main one was that it would freeze. However, if I had known that the S24 is not something very different, then I would have kept it for two years because most of the problems during that two-year period had almost been resolved.
Since 2014, I have been on Team Samsung of the S series.
I started with the S5, then the S9, S22, and now S24.
Perhaps the best for me was the S9, which I was satisfied with from every aspect.
Of course, the S5, which was my first contact with Samsung, left me with very good impressions. I hope to get used to the colors of the photos and that this issue won't bother me over time.
I will continue to buy the S series because I have generally gotten used to the menu and the Android environment. I just hope that the next model I get fully meets my expectations.
Well, I've had it for over a month now. For compact phones 6-6.3 inches and if you don’t want to spend a thousand bucks to go for the iPhones (and more for the Pro), the S24 is the only option. If you can get it without VAT through a company like I did, then we're talking about value for money. The screen looks crystal clear even outside at noon, perfect design, tiny bezels, a decent battery for its size, it’s as fast as it could be, and the temperature is okay; it will heat up if you fiddle with it for a long time (and if you hold it without a case! This is very important) but personally, I've always had compact phones, all of them heat up, I was prepared to deal with any increase in temperature after use because I don’t want the large (6.7 inches) phones that feel like slippers. The only thing that really bothered me as a consumer is that Samsung launched the phone in Europe with an Exynos processor while the rest of the world got the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. The differences are minimal, about 8%-10% faster for the Snapdragon which no one notices in everyday use since the Exynos is also similar at 4nm and is very fast, but I don’t think it’s right. Because the photos are a click different if you see the comparisons online, since they go through different processors. I’m not saying one is better than the other, it’s a matter of taste. They are similar with slight deviations. I’m saying that the product should be universally 100% the same. I don’t think that’s right. Obviously for me, it’s not a deal-breaker since I bought it, I’m just pointing it out. Personally, I’m very satisfied with the purchase. I highly recommend it to fans of small phones. It has no competition at this price when we talk about compact phones. You would have to spend an extra 150 euros to go for the Pixel 9 but even then, comparatively I would still choose the S24, purely based on appearance, and I would spend the 150 on souvlaki.
Coming from the iPhone 14 and 15 Pro Max, I decided to try out how Samsung phones are, and I am truly amazed. Wonderful phone, screen, speed, speakers, call quality, signal, cameras—everything is fantastic! I am a heavy user, playing heavy games and emulators, and it runs them without any problems and doesn’t overheat (I don’t know what others say about overheating or that the phone lags; it’s lightning fast).
It really has nothing to envy from Apple; it has so many features.
The only negatives are a bit about the battery; I was hoping it would last a little longer. For me, it lasts 6-7 hours depending on the usage I do every day normally. But okay, as much as you say, it’s a small phone.
Never again iPhone; I am satisfied with this device :)
Coming from a five-year-old S10e (€448), I can't say that I was impressed.
Average phone with a max price (around €740) for flagship category.
It is not worth the money in any case.
Let's blame the time bombs that are calculated to reduce the performance of devices after a certain period (I would call it creative marketing).
Coming from a Galaxy S10 that I had for over 4+ years, I tried this and I was very satisfied in terms of device quality, speed, cameras, etc... the only small issue is that the battery doesn't last as long, but it still makes a big effort to hold up; however, at night it definitely needs charging, like most phones. I would give it 5 stars if it had a slightly larger battery, but still, the phone is lightning fast, it doesn't lag anywhere, and generally, whatever you want to load onto it, it won't struggle; it will do it quickly and efficiently.
I bought new phone but it’s not functioning properly some bugs are there some time it’s hang for a while most worst thing is volume key not working properly.
The mobile phone heats up significantly (it's summer, ok) and - as a result - stops charging. A redmi 13 pro, at half the cost, seemed faster to me overall (and in fingerprint recognition!), even with the included case, although it did not have wireless charging. Maybe the seller who praised it was right?
Did not meet my expectations, the battery life is very poor , I expected a much better mobile phone for so much money! my A34 was better!! ( just it was a bit slower but everything else was better than the s24 & more than half the price)
Coming from the s20+, the phone works flawlessly, the battery is excellent, and the speed is perfect. For its price, I would like more vibrant colors. With the appropriate adjustment in the display settings, something can be done, but still, for its price, it should have more lively colors!
Coming from the Poco F3, I can say that although the S24 is faster with a slight difference, its camera also has minimal difference but! the battery is terrible, with protection (meaning it charges up to 80%) I have to charge it twice a day! While the Poco F3 I would charge once and it would only consume 35% with more usage. It's not worth the money for me.
Additionally: It doesn't have an option in the built-in app for macro photography, something that other phones have for a third of the price.
Previous phones all Samsung.. Note 9, Note 10+, S21fe and now the small S24..
It covered me in everything I asked for. The ideal size of 6.2' with minimal bezel. Comfortable handling with one hand and fits in all pockets.
Positives.
-Screen: Very bright, readable under the sun. Unlocks instantly with fingerprint even with screen protector.
-Processor: Very fast in switching between applications. For two weeks now, it hasn't shown the slightest lag. Even with a temperature of 35 degrees Celsius, only in demanding gaming (cod) and long video recording in 4k 60fps, you feel it getting warm, but without overheating.
-Battery: I was afraid, but it proved me wrong.
You easily get through the day with heavy usage. From 100% with everything open (continuous Bluetooth connection with smartwatch, GPS, synchronization), eight hours with 5G and another eight hours with Wi-Fi, you have about 5:30 hours of screen-on time, and you're at 20% in the evening.
-Cameras: Very nice portraits with the 3x lens. No complaints overall, day and night. With Expert Raw, you can achieve any result you want.
-Sound: Good quality, although not very loud for music playback, but very good for open conversation. Even while driving with open windows, you can talk and hear comfortably.
Negatives.
Apart from the annoyingly slow charging and the difference in image quality when switching cameras during video recording, I didn't find anything else.
It is a very high-quality compact construction, with Samsung warranty, 7 years of updates, Samsung Dex, fully customizable (Good Lock), you never get bored with it.
What else could one ask for..
I came from the S21FE. In the user interface, I didn't notice anything radically different as both phones run on OneUI 6.1 (now the S21FE as well for a few days). As for battery life, I noticed an improvement, possibly because the S24 has an LTPO display that enhances battery life. Overall, it's a welcomed improvement. Additionally, Samsung promises 7 years of updates from the S24 onwards, which is also welcomed.
Coming from the S21 fe, which I was fully satisfied with for 2.5 years, I upgraded to the s24 which is expectedly excellent, although not particularly different.
- Build: gorilla glass victus on the front and back, screams quality and durability. Among the few flagships along with iPhone 15 pro & pixel 8 that are easy to use with one hand. But who asked for sharp edges like Apple's on the corners? It feels like they tried so hard to make it like an iPhone that it lost the perfect feel in the hand of the previous models. Fortunately, it doesn't slip much and the colors are discreet and premium in appearance and touch.
- The screen is truly impeccable. I don't know how much it would improve with 10 or 12-bit color, but it has incredible clarity, color accuracy, vibrancy, and it's bright to the point where you almost can't believe it, and it's perfectly readable under the sun.
- The fingerprint is fast and accurate, and with the Spigen glass on top, it works without delays. The speakers are loud and clear, but I didn't like the playback quality much. It lacks bass and it's a step back compared to previous models.
- The battery life is a pleasant surprise. The exynos 2400 doesn't disappoint like before, and in combination with good management, it lasts through a demanding day without any major issues. It charges slowly by today's standards.
- I don't know how much faster the s 8 gen 3 would be, but the phone is still very fast in all aspects even in the "gentle" profile that limits performance. Of course, the competition still looks at Apple with envy, but the gap has decreased significantly over the years. If I say it doesn't heat up, it would be a lie, but it's within the range of almost all flagship phones. It's expected when you put a laptop-grade processor in such a small device.
- The support for the phone puts the competition to shame. Even Apple doesn't offer 7 years of support for its pro models. Why offer support for a phone for so many years? Because someone will be able to buy it in 2-3 years from now at a discount and continue to enjoy updates for another 5 years. The competition simply can't keep up here. The software is also great. Those who are dissatisfied with One UI probably haven't used the mess of MIUI or the lack of functionality of Pixel & iPhone.
- The cameras are somewhat of a mixed bag. Don't get me wrong, they are very good, with plenty of detail, a very wide dynamic range, and practically no noise day or night. However, the competition has made strides and uses newer and more expensive sensors. It wouldn't be my go-to camera phone, and the Ultra has a lot of difference. The photos are often dull and cold, although quite accurate.
However, it has a good wide-angle lens and telephoto lens that the competition often doesn't offer, and both lenses are perfectly usable.
The video recording is excellent, I have no complaints whatsoever, and the HDR makes night look like day.
It also has one of the best selfie cameras I have used.
Overall, maybe not the best cameras, but incredibly versatile.
• In conclusion: the s24 has some (known) minor issues, it doesn't have the fastest processor, the best camera, or the battery champion. However, if someone is looking for a compact flagship, there aren't many good options available. The 15 Pro is slightly better but much more expensive, the regular 15 has significant shortcomings, the Pixel 8 proved problematic with a poor processor and similar quality issues seem to affect the Xiaomi 14 despite being flawless on paper. It is a mobile phone that doesn't impress at first but leaves you satisfied as you use it.
Incredible phone, coming from the xiaomi 11t.. day and night.. I fell in love with it.. you get what you pay for after all, I will keep it as long as it lasts. Amazing screen, incredible cameras, this phone is truly a rocket
Coming from the A51 was like day and night. Yes, obviously you pay quite a bit of money but the difference in everything is visible from the first moment. I can't know if it will last 7 years but the guaranteed software upgrade was also an important factor. The phone is also smaller in size than the A51 I had, which didn't bother me as it is very ergonomic and I don't play games. As for the UI, I don't need to comment, just amazing. The AI is also useful in some points, not so much in others, but it is still something new and extra. I hope I helped...
It was purchased today for 256, but that doesn't matter much... Unfortunately, us unlucky ones in Europe got screwed again with the crappy Samsung processors aka Exynos... The Snapdragon version is better in everything and specifically better in temperatures and battery life, where it gives you 20% or even 30% more battery. The phone is great, but unfortunately it has a Samsung processor... If you find a way to get the Snapdragon, even if it takes longer, do it...
We all know the positives, stability, sturdy construction, great screen and camera. A big plus is that in the S series, Samsung provides updates for up to 5 years.
Regarding the battery:
With a cumulative 2 hours on social media and the rest of the day with Wi-Fi/data on and one to two hours of Spotify, the battery doesn't last the whole day if we assume that the manufacturer recommends not letting it drop below 20% for proper use. A charger is not included in the package, which I find negative or even a very cheap move from Samsung
YES.. it is expensive. For someone who can afford it, though, they will have a phone with top quality materials.. wonderful screen, top camera, fast in any task, powerful speakers and finally a battery that lasts a day with intense use. As for the processor, it is the first time that an Exynos has such small differences from the equivalent Snapdragon. Given the 7-year software support and the powerful specs, I believe it is a good investment for anyone who wants a mobile phone that does everything perfectly and wants to keep it for years.
Former owner of s22, big upgrade in everything.
Excellent and beautiful LTPO screen, excellent cameras, ideal size!
The EXYNOS 2400 really does a great job.
Battery is a big improvement, lasts 1 day with charging up to 80%.
UPDATE, both cameras take much clearer photos, especially at night, compared to the 15pro!
The Samsung S24 is a bit expensive, but very good. Many cameras, good screen, many features, and the best thing is that it's better than another Samsung phone. Also, this phone has AI.
And yet it happens... the phone has been completed in every aspect and has become an excellent pocket flagship that you enjoy carrying. The screen has become even brighter and larger at 6.2 inches, with a refresh rate ranging from 1 Hz to 120 Hz. The sound is more solid, the battery is even better with excellent management from the Exynos 2400 that doesn't resemble anything from the previous models. The camera has gained better processing without the saturated colors of the previous series, showing maturity from the company. Finally, the 7 years of upgrades bury the competition, which simply cannot keep up.
