At this moment in January 2025, it is the best value for money choice for a flagship. Essentially, you have a phone priced at 570-600 euros that competes with the S24 Ultra and iPhone 15 Pro Max, last year's flagships, of course, but with small differences from this year's models. Its biggest positive and the reason I chose it is the camera, which is one of the main reasons to buy a Pixel. Top-notch photos, they look professional-level with a slight reservation for night shots, where it is also very good. The 120Hz AMOLED display is flawless, as is its battery, which can easily provide 6 - 6.30 hours of screen on time. Regarding speed, with the Tensor G3, it lags behind other flagships, but for the everyday user and someone who doesn't engage in mobile gaming, it is more than sufficient. Finally, it is the cleanest experience you can find on Android, smooth, without bugs, and without unnecessary apps.
First day with the phone and I have to say that the system launcher of the phone is quite annoying. I was used to some specific customizations from my much older Xiaomi phone that are no longer even an option on the Google Pixel. For example, at the bottom of the screen on the home screen, there is a Google search bar that is hard set and cannot even be moved! Also, the dark mode is not black as I was used to, to go to the settings you have to swipe down the notification bar twice without the possibility of any other shortcut. Also I was used to tap the power button and the closest volume button for screenshot, with google pixel it's hard set the opposite!
Everything is fine, but what I didn't expect was that it would disappoint me so much in night shots. It is below average, having the vivo x90 pro as a comparison. Once, Google was a pioneer in the field of photography. Not anymore.
The touch sometimes does not respond, and until updates are made, many of my calls were showing that I was talking when I was doing nothing, and then it appeared to me as a message. Other than that, excellent battery, nice screen, good photos

The screen is satisfying with high resolution, flagship quality, perfect colors, and ideal for watching even series/movies.
The sound is good, full, and correct, although not very loud; it is just enough without exaggeration and doesn't distort at maximum volume.
The keyboard response is also very good.
The camera, typically pixel, is amazing with many features. The zoom lens needs good light. In photos, I often think it even competes with a DSLR.
In video, it performs well, with a small downside in HDR that takes many hours to upload to Google Cloud and process, but the result is very good, especially when there isn’t enough light.
Battery, the reason I removed one star. While it has a fairly large capacity, it doesn’t comfortably last the day. I, of course, charge it to 80% and don’t let it drop below 20%. I don’t play demanding games. If you take many photos and some videos and play a little game and do quite a bit of social media, then it will be hard to last the day. I knew this before I bought it.
Maybe with the latest version, the battery has improved a bit, and with the next updates, it might get better, but I’m not expecting miracles.
Appearance and weight, it is heavy and quite large and thick, especially in the area where the cameras are located. However, Google has done something amazing here, and in terms of grip, it is the best I have held in my hands. You feel like it won’t slip from your hand for any reason, while at the same time, it is pleasant and satisfying for everyday use. The previous points do not negate the fact that it is very heavy and large, so in the summer, especially, I fear that in a pocket it will pull a bit on the clothing, e.g., shorts.
I come from a Poco F3, but I have had flagships in the past. I last had a small DSLR always with me for photography, but I got a bit tired and decided to return to a good camera phone.
I took a trip to Rome, and the photos and videos I took surprised me to the extent that on the second day, I left the DSLR at the hotel.
Purchase 12.2024. For the money it costs now 600 euros, you won't find a better phone! Great screen, clean Android, battery and management of it very good (without games) cameras are okay.... Pixel and let others say their own.... With cosmote sim no problem.
I didn't expect it to be different from other brands, but the build quality, the software, the camera, are on another level. I completely changed my mind.
charges a little slowly
I'm still looking for an Android that will overall be superior to the Pixels. The 8 is flawless, just like the 7. Hopefully, we'll get to the 9 pro soon.
Owner for about 1 month. At the price it costs now (under €700 - November 2024), it is the most value-for-money flagship available. Camera (especially in photography) and screen are top-notch, justifying its reputation as one of the top phones in these areas. Nice and fast clean stock Android with all updates (every 2-3 weeks) and AI features (exclusive to Pixel and others, definitely some are very useful especially in photo editing, like zoom enhance, best take, etc.). The operating system lacks some simple things I was used to in Xiaomi and Samsung (for example, for NFC and Bluetooth, it takes 2 moves instead of 1..), but everything can be easily fixed with routines or shortcuts. The battery is satisfactory, with normal use I reach 35-40% by evening, while with a comparable last year's Samsung model I reached 25-30%. I might wish it charged faster, but the adaptive charging option is very useful, especially for charging at night ('sees' when you have an alarm and charges so that it reaches full by the time you wake up). I have not encountered any issues with the processor or overheating (though I haven't tried any heavy games). A bit heavy in the hand, but definitely much more comfortable to hold compared to Samsung Ultra. Everything works just fine with Vodafone (5G, vowifi, volte).
Owner for 2 months, coming from a Xiaomi that cost 200 euros which I had for the last 2 years. I see many positive reviews here and I wonder.
The battery barely lasts a day and the charging time is long when in 2024 other phones charge in 20 minutes. Terrible customization and shortcuts. For example, to turn off the NFC I have to go into settings. To turn on or off Bluetooth there is a shortcut (thank God) in the dropdown menu but for some reason it takes 2 clicks instead of one, like it does on every normal phone. The fingerprint sensor is slower than the delay. The tap to wake function when the screen is off often doesn't work and causes frustration. Many apps underperform. For example, Messenger half the time doesn't load properly and says "connecting" as if there is no network, while there is. To work, it needs a restart one or two times. Instagram often jumps 50 posts down with a small scroll. Notifications from email, messages, etc. often come with a significant delay (I received a notification I was waiting for from an important email 2 hours later). Overall, it is a completely buggy device with issues that should have been resolved a year after its release.
As for the modem issues that many say they have, I haven't noticed any.
The only positive thing about the phone is the camera, which is excellent.
Stay away
Perfect phone..... One of the best and most reliable phones available on the market. And at a super price for the size and capabilities of the phone.
In the photos very good. Flawless processing, such as removing people from the background. Also comfortable to hold. Some instability on the screen, it turns off momentarily or stops responding for a while. The battery is average, lasts one day with relatively light use. It heats up slightly with use.
I come from Xiaomi 12. Amazing phone, problem-free for a month now. I have no negatives so far. It's worth the money.
I have only had the phone for a week and I am satisfied with the overall device. The battery is excellent for my usage (youtube, tik tok, instagram mainly in the evening, calls and emails all day with mobile data and bluetooth always on). The selfie camera is amazing and unique, and generally the camera. I would describe the photo as unique (in terms of colors) but beautiful. The software is amazing, regular updates, and the phone is incredibly smooth. No issues with calls as it is now my main professional phone. I believe it will stay quite a while in Google's camp as long as it has more affordable prices.
I bought the phone ten days ago in a flash sale from abroad for 590 euros. Since around 2017, I have been exclusively a Xiaomi user. For that price, it is an amazing value for money. The camera and post-processing are incredible. There are articles comparing it and finding it at the same (approximately) level as phones costing 1000+ euros (Samsung S24 Ultra, iPhone 15 Pro Max, etc.). As others have mentioned, you might find issues with the processor's capabilities in extremely demanding applications (the average user is unlikely to encounter problems). It feels great to have a clean Android with zero bloatware and useless apps bothering you. The screen is perfectly fine, absolutely no issues.
To be more complete, let's point out two negative aspects of the phone:
1. I would like better charging speed and battery life.
2. The fingerprint scanning is somewhat slow and lacks good accuracy. The previous phone I had, a Xiaomi 10T Pro (2020 model), was better in this area.
Other than that, it meets expectations. If the main requirement is camera quality while keeping the budget in the mid-range, this specific phone is the way to go.
As a basic alternative, after the research I did, I would probably consider the OnePlus 12 (it should have unreal battery performance with 120W), but I think it is more expensive, without reaching the extreme levels of Apple and Samsung flagships, of course

I have had the phone in my hands for a few weeks now. It is the first flagship phone I have purchased and I am quite satisfied. Let's go to the positives (+) The camera is amazing in combination with the AI and other tools, providing a satisfying experience. It is stock Android, where the operating system takes up less storage compared to other Android flagships. The G3 has been performing very well so far, it hasn't lagged at all, combined with the 12GB of RAM it runs smoothly. But its longevity will be seen in the coming years, with the 7 years of support the device will receive. So far, I haven't had any issues with the battery, having gotten a Google charger. Caution! There are settings like location and NFC that may be active and consume more easily than it seems, resulting in a bad rumor about the phone's features. Negatives (-) The difficulty in activating a feature like NFC immediately (I have to go to the settings) or for location. There may be a customization option to scroll down and have them available, but so far I have to access them through the settings.
+ Perfect camera and display, amazing sound, incredibly fast and smooth in all applications, very responsive, very good battery, 7 years of Google support.
- Relatively slow charging.
Coming from the Huawei P40 Pro, I noticed a perfect smoothness, everything runs like flowing water from the tap, the camera compared to the P40 is a click better, I recommend it.
I see again reviews from unrelated people who take away stars as if they are peanuts. A Greek phenomenon.
Incredibly high-quality camera. Incredibly high-quality display. Unreal! You can't get enough of browsing on this screen!
Finally, a very good battery in a flagship phone. The Android runs incredibly smoothly without any issues. Also, finally 5G. Generally, Google is making strides forward. Slowly but surely, everything will be unlocked in Greece. Patience.
Lastly, very sturdy construction. Nice finishes. A bit of a heavy device in my opinion. Overall, for a flagship in a top-tier version, a very good price.
2 months user, those who write in the comments about fake construction, bad signal, bad photos, crashes, and the like are 100% liars. Yes, it's not the most powerful, which will only be evident if you play heavy games or if you compile a video in an editor, plain and simple. In everyday use, neither iPhone nor Samsung can compare to it. The AI is at least 5 years ahead (I would say 10 years for Apple), some things are missing that I was used to with the 1+, regarding customization, but I won't complain. The Pixels are the embodiment of "Android as it should be," everything smooth without too many frills and scents. In the category it is in, where the only competitor is the S24 Ultra and 15 Pro Max easily beats them, for those who want a more detailed analysis, you can simply go to dxomark to read it in detail, and when the Gemini comes, it will go even further to a better level than it is today.
Do not be fooled and do not spend this money on this phone. It is not worth it under any circumstances. Max 400 euros. I bought it and sold it the same day. Terrible build quality, completely fake. The Pixel 4xl I had was superior in every way. Stay away.
Excellent camera with AI support. However, it faces significant issues in other areas. The battery life is disappointing as it needs to be charged twice a day. Additionally, the signal is unstable, often nonexistent as if I am in a basement. The device's performance significantly decreases after installing 15 applications, and at times the device freezes, requiring a restart to function. Just stay away!!!!!
Positives:
+ AMAZING photos and videos. The best I have seen so far (definitely better than OnePlus and iPhone, I have no opinion on Samsung, Xiaomi)
+ Okay screen, battery life, "vanilla" android (not that it’s 100% perfect)
+ Very frequent updates (about every 2 weeks)
+ 5G now works like VoLTE although for Cosmote at least you first need to put the SIM in a phone that is officially supported in Greece (e.g. iPhone)
+ In every app I use, it’s perfectly fast (I don’t play games)
Negatives:
- Almost impossible to find a decent case that doesn’t cost €50. One doesn’t have a magnetic ring, another is fake, another doesn’t have satisfactory protection. I ended up getting a Mous slim. For OnePlus and iPhone, I found similar ones for €10-20.
- Although in practice you usually don’t need it, the charging time is disappointing compared to OnePlus (the iPhone is the same or worse).
Bottom line: for this price category, it is one of the best options although depending on someone’s needs, the OnePlus 12 or some other equivalent may win in some areas. I definitely still can’t justify the premium of iPhones anymore, even though I am generally an Apple fan and use a Mac for a computer.
The Pixel 8 Pro for me is one of the best phones someone can buy. Excellent videos with and without video boost, excellent photos. The phone calls are incredible! I can be talking on the phone against the wind, barely hearing my own voice, but the other person on the other end hears me crystal clear without any problem. Its size is large but you don't even notice it.
The purchase cost with what it offers is low.
The processor is weak.

Using Samsung or Apple phones for years and Huawei P series for photography, I decided to try stock Android. Since I have been involved in photography for years, I wanted a phone for easy shooting and compared it to all the top devices. I have had it for a month already. It is much better than I expected. The user experience is excellent. The phone is fast and never gives any problems, even though it is not as powerful as the S24 Ultra or the iPhone 15 Pro. Two updates in a month. Extremely smart phone thanks to Google. However, where it excels is in photography. In all conditions, it is excellent and the only one that matches the P60 Pro. It is definitely better than the iPhone 15 Pro that I have tested (not in video) and the S24 Ultra (not in zoom). The difference is clear in printing. In everything else, it is a 5, except for the slow charging battery. In calls, everything is perfect, wifi calling and Volte work flawlessly
Perfect mobile, I don't have any problems in general even though I am a heavy user. The negatives are that it is heavy, it has some bugs due to Google but they will probably be fixed. Also, it is not the fastest in terms of processor. Overall, it is not worth their money. If it is 500-600 euros, I would say yes, but now at twice the price, definitely not.
