When I bought the Sony Xperia 5 mark II in 2020, compared to the Sony Xperia Z2 that I had until then [it was from 2014], the difference was huge and definitely better in all aspects.
Nowadays...
There is an improvement, but nothing that impresses you.
The mark V has better screen brightness than the mark II. Definitely better processor, sound, build quality, cameras, videos, etc.
However, I have a concern...
The camera app has been replaced with Photography Pro, which takes 12MP from what I saw, in Auto mode. If you want to take 48MP, you have to switch to it yourself, at least for now I haven't found a way to put it in Auto. Maybe it requires some exploration. [Additional comment: Eventually, the way is simple, the 48MP camera opens by itself, it did require some exploration after all].
I also liked that the mark II had 3 cameras instead of 2 now, but there is now Night Mode and the photos are simply amazing even in low light... Finally, SONY.
In terms of design/build quality, it seems much more sturdy, but the mark II had glass on the back and looked incredibly luxurious, now it has a matte finish that, yes, doesn't slip as much, but looks simpler [and compact, I would add].
Is the phone good? I think it's BETTER IN ALL ASPECTS and of course in the cameras, which is where SONY was lacking.

to turn off the phone, you press the button with the fingerprint and the button that adjusts the volume!!! Another new feature again... this is a new function.
Also, you press the fingerprint button twice to open the phone, it seems to take longer here compared to the mark II which opened instantly with a touch.
That's it... the phone is good, I recommend it. I think the things that concerned me, with frequent use, I will get used to them.
The price of the phone, 999€, I bought it + 35€ for the charger, very expensive.
