• Vitamin E

Vitamin E is contained in high concentrations in plant oils, while it is also naturally present in the skin, where it functions as a natural defense mechanism. Its primary role is to protect the integrity of cells by fortifying biological membranes and mitochondria against oxidation. Mitochondria exhibit high metabolic activity and also produce free radicals. UV radiation and pollution are two factors that lead to the breakdown of vitamin E in the skin.
