  -While I was downloading about 5GB of data from Steam, suddenly the download froze.
  -I started restarting and Windows kept freezing (it's on the first NVMe hard drive of the computer).
  -It took me a while to figure it out, but to get back into Windows, I had to completely disconnect this hard drive because it was freezing the rest of the system.
  -I tried everything to refresh the firmware (WD application or startup stick and firmware flash), but the hard drive was permanently gone.
  -In the end, I found out that the wireless receiver for the Xbox 360 controller was also burned out. Something happened with the power on the USB bus, and it probably took that with it through Steam.
  -On the WD page, it states that the return shipping costs are covered by the customer, so that's several dozen euros and all the hassle/waiting for a disk replacement that might be refurbished as they say.
  -I don't think it's worth it; some data has already been lost, fortunately mostly games, and the hard drive lasted me about 2 years. It could have happened earlier than what I read, but I had a bit of luck in that.
  -Personally, I will try to ignore WD for a few years and will try products from other companies.

  Unfortunately, I will agree with the review made by another member on 25/08/2023, which unfortunately I had not seen from the beginning in order to avoid the hassle.
  My purchase concerns the 4TB version and was intended for file storage on an SSD-HDD Docking Station.
  Unfortunately, I did not use it from the first day I received it, but two weeks later.
  If I had used it from the first day, I would have had time to exchange it for a new disk or a better model from another brand without waiting for the unacceptable waiting time of about 30 working days that the store requests to check the product.
  The problem it presents is the following.
  The disk has been loaded occupying about 70% of its capacity.
  The next day when I reopen the Docking Station, my files are lost and the disk shows as unregistered (asking for reformatting).
  Within two days, I repeat the same process twice, that is, reformatting the disk and transferring files, but the same thing happens again the next day.
  I have tried four different Docking Stations and all of them refuse to display my files.
  As soon as the disk loses power, the files are lost.
  Below, I attach images.
  Informally, I had to buy a new 4TB SSD from another store, but this time Samsung.

  Stay away from this particular model. The entire SA510 series has an issue with the firmware that renders the hard drive useless, resulting in the loss of all your data. Western Digital made no effort to inform consumers and on top of that, they make you pay for shipping all the way to the Czech Republic to send you a replacement. They recently released an update, but the damage has already been done. Now that the firmware issue is resolved with this update, will they send me a new one that will break again in about six months?

  Only God knows...
