You can control it via WiFi from your smartphone or tablet, as it has an app that allows remote management. Additionally, you can control it with your voice through Alexa or Google Home.
Motion Detection
You receive notifications every time the camera detects motion and provides you with the ability to see a snapshot of that motion, so you have control. Additionally, you can create detection zones to monitor activity in areas of your choice.
Night Vision with Infrared Radiation
Allows you to see in the dark, up to a distance of 10 meters, through the infrared sensors it has.
Motion on 2 Axes
Monitor your space through two different axes of motion. The Tapo C200 features adjustable 360-degree tilt left and right and 114-degree tilt up and down.
Storage on SD
The Tapo C200 has a slot for an SD card with a capacity of up to 128 GB, equal to 384 hours (16 days) of video. At the same time, you can refer to any date you want through the app to view your previous recordings.

Specifications are collected from official manufacturer websites. Please verify the specifications before proceeding with your final purchase. If you notice any problem you can

Easy installation, user-friendly software with many settings options, at a very satisfactory price. I only use it for monitoring (without an SD card for event recording) and the push notifications for motion detection work perfectly. I have placed the camera high up in an indoor space and have enabled motion detection only in the upper corner of a door. This way, while I can have live view from the entire space whenever I want, I only receive push notifications when that specific door opens or closes. If I could ask for any improvement, it would be slightly better clarity in the sound (speech from a distance is not easily discernible, although the sound volume is satisfactory) and slightly better clarity in night vision. I am so satisfied that I will definitely purchase a second one for another space.
Edit: I ended up buying two more cameras for other spaces and purposes. This time, I also purchased SD cards and event recording works perfectly. I also upgraded the cameras' software to the latest version, which allows the same camera to be used by different users with different accounts. This is extremely useful because although you could share the usage with someone else before, you had to have the same username and password. This meant that whoever added a camera to their profile automatically granted access to the other person. Now, this can be configured more rationally, as one person declares the camera in their profile and specifies which other guest can use it, per camera and not the entire profile. Guests have limited functionality in settings, movements, and camera communication, although they still have normal image and notification access.
Edit March 2023: Since I see that my review has positively influenced several future buyers, I feel obliged to provide an update after several years of operation and use. All three cameras continue to work perfectly. However, the same problem occurred with the two cameras I placed in outdoor areas: their SD cards failed and they were no longer able to record. They did not recover even with formatting. It is possible, of course, that the cards themselves were to blame, as I admit they were not the best ones available on the market. But because only two out of the three cards failed, specifically the ones in the sheltered outdoor area, while the third one inside the house still works smoothly, I conclude that the cards are not as protected against moisture and/or heat in outdoor conditions. The manufacturing company is not responsible for this, as it does not advertise the camera for outdoor use, but I felt the need to point it out. It is also indeed annoying that software updates have introduced several features that are only available with a subscription, but on the other hand, I don't think there is any significant functionality that used to be available for free and is now only offered with a subscription. The company is simply trying to make money from old customers by providing any substantial software upgrade only for a fee. Nevertheless, the camera continues to function fully without a subscription (I haven't paid).
It is quite cheap, but no one prepares you for what you get with this money.
1. The camera is designed to work with the subscription service TAPO Care. Privacy zones, motion tracking, person detection, and baby crying detection do not work unless you pay extra every month.
2. It cannot record to both the SD card and NVR, only one of the two (in comparison, the first Wyze cameras could do it just fine years ago).
3. Unfortunately, it comes with a custom 9v power supply, not USB or USB-C. At least it has a long cable.
4. It has a slightly small field of view, but I did not lower the rating for that.
5. It does not allow settings for static IP.
6. Without TAPO Care active and without accessing the app, the camera made countless requests to TP-Link. The image is less than a week old since installation.
7. The time can only be set automatically, with the camera needing internet access. So you cannot completely cut off internet access (e.g., with MAC Address) because the camera will show that it is living in 2021...
It also has positives, of course:
It is ONVIF compatible.
It works with NVR (including Synology NVR, home assistant, and others).
It is really, really cheap compared to the competition, now we know the reason.
Update:
I spoke with tech support, provided debug logs, etc., and they made improvements that will be included in the next firmware release:
```
Took some time to reply.
Normally, an access request to tplinknbu.com and tplinkcloud.com is to make it sure that the device is stably connected to TP-Link Cloud Server. This ensures our customers can perform remote control, watch remote video, and perform third-party (Alexa) control through the Tapo APP.
When the device is on an abnormal network (like External Network disconnected), which means failing to regularly update, it will keep trying to access. This is why it tries to access rtsp-dcipc.tplinknbu.com and aps1-relay-dcipctplinknbu.com.
Based on your feedback, we have optimized the procedure of device access. The latest firmware of C200 will be released next month, and other models will also be released in succession.
Honest indoor camera. Relatively cheap and noteworthy. It has very good image quality and personally, it doesn't disconnect for me. Easy installation on 2 different mobile phones.
It keeps sending notifications that a person was detected inside the house because it can't distinguish the cat from a person. :)) If you have pets, get another model that has pet detection. Other than that, everything is fine.
Very easy to set up, the v5 has some additional features compared to the v1 but ultimately I don't need them and the rest that I will buy will again be v1 due to the price difference. Clear image day and night, it's not in color at night but still, it's not necessary. It hasn't shown any problems in the first few days of operation and compared to the Sri I had before, I recommend it without reservation!
Update after daily use for one month: unfortunately, it loses the memory card and I have to unplug it or take out and put back the memory card for it to recognize it. The v1 seems to have much better motion detection. I will buy the v1 again because of this issue as well.
Excellent. I didn't expect such clarity and color fidelity for so little money. The impressive part is at night, where without any light, you see as if it were day. You see, hear, talk, adjust everything.
It does its job as promised, connects easily with the phone, amazing app as you can save videos, the sensor is a bit sensitive to rush movements, but it does its job and then some
Very good. I have been using it for three years. Its image is colored and very good. It is located in a covered outdoor area and its operation is perfect.
Well, I have 3 so far.. I can say that it's the best for an affordable camera.. Without needing to be a professional in the connection... For me, it's the most value for money. It's totally worth it
It doesn't lose the connection for any reason!! With frequent power outages due to a problem with the main, I never needed to take action to reactivate it, etc!!
A very user-friendly camera with many features. The Tapo app is excellent, and if you combine it with a microSD card, you can view recordings from several days ago. The motion detection is relatively reliable, and the extras like alarm, flashlight, intercom, etc., all work perfectly.
Usage: For my grandmother who has dementia, I placed it in her room to monitor her so she doesn't open any doors at night while we are sleeping. Very good resolution, the motion sensor may be a bit overly sensitive at times, but all of this is fixed by the amazing TAPO app.
Honestly, if it's worth getting the camera, get it for the app. User-friendly UI, many features, sensors, scheduling, cloud recording and MicroSD with on-demand replay, motion and face recognition, and much more. Their cloud is paid, but all features except cloud storage are free.
For the 30 euros I got it for, it's worth every cent.
For 25 euros and what it offers, it's 10/10.
I installed 2 at my grandmother's house, who lives alone on the mountain. one outside and one inside. Just in case she doesn't answer the phone... so I can check immediately. With a 24 line, it underperforms, gives lower resolution but still remote control 360, alarm, microphone, 1080p, motion detection, night vision.
If placed in the right spot, you can see everywhere, day and night.
If you want blue-ray quality, you'll need to go for something more expensive. It also helps a lot to check out a demo of the camera you want to buy on YouTube before you get it.
Very good camera, easy connection with quality image day and night. The motion detection works very well and when tracking, the image remains stable and clear. I recommend it!!
Excellent for the money. Easy to install and use, very good image quality. The only downside of the app is that it doesn't show one camera continuously; after 5 minutes it "cuts off" and waits for you to press to start again, so the factory app is not suitable for viewing it permanently as a recorder. However, it works with specialized apps, e.g., iSpy.
On the same day I bought it, I tried to install it. During the process, I realized that the camera was defective (it didn't rotate left-right) and the store did not accept replacement but communication from me with the dealership. The dealership did not help me solve the problem at first, so I was left with a defective camera without knowing what will happen. Otherwise, it is easy to install, with the daytime image not being as expected.
An affordable indoor security camera. Its connection was very easy and the use of the application as well. I have it in 720p resolution for less data consumption and the image is crystal clear that I could even switch it to 1080p! It immediately detects everything and informs you in seconds, simply fantastic.
Let them talk about the slow response and disconnection. You need to have good wifi, 50 Mbps or higher, for such things, whether it's air conditioners, air fryers, or internet cameras. Anyone with a slower connection shouldn't bother commenting because the device won't function properly. I have it and it's very good, both the image quality and the night vision and response. Everything is perfect without any problems
I don't know what changed after 3 years that I have it, not that it was anything great from the beginning, but now it detects a person as movement and a dog as a person, it also detects shadows as movement that for example the curtain makes when it blows, resulting in the recording when it detects something to be completely useless because it records 99% ghosts and you don't know if there was actually any movement in the space. Another Chinese camera unfortunately.
The camera is great. It has very good image quality, night vision, sends notifications to your phone if you are away and detects motion, has motion detector, human detection and baby crying detection. You can speak from your phone and be heard from the camera, when it detects motion it sounds like an alarm from the camera. Very good value for money.
I tried a cheaper one before settling on this specific one and I regretted it! It had poor WiFi signal, I had to constantly refresh the app, the image quality was mediocre, and overall it was very difficult to use.
With the c200, the image quality is very good day and night, and it rarely loses connection with WiFi or its app.
Everything is fine, but I have one objection. You buy the camera and after a while they ask you to pay a subscription of 5€ per month to have access to the services.
I don't know what others are writing but I have bought four such cameras. And with a difference of one year between the first and the last. I was amazed by the UI of the application, so friendly, reliable, and with many features. The camera is of remarkable quality. The resolution and video capabilities are wonderful.
Storage card.
I combined it with the Kingston Canvas Select Plus microSDXC 128GB Class 10 U1 V10 A1 UHS-I card which is perfectly compatible with the camera. The storage card is very useful for someone who wants to keep a surveillance file in the area, for example, a babysitter, etc. However, if we are talking about burglary, then you should know that if someone breaks into the house and takes the camera, they automatically take the card as well, so you have no information about the burglar. So if you want to cover this possibility, then you need to go for Tapo's paid cloud service.
Motion tracking, person detection.
I read in another review that person detection, motion tracking, etc. do not work without a cloud subscription. This is false. It works perfectly and very effectively. I don't understand why someone would lie about a product, especially when they are knowledgeable, in order to prevent other users from buying it. The update when a violation or movement is detected that comes to your phone is within a few seconds. Of course, the stability and reliability of the internet are prerequisites.
