TLDR; I have been using it for 2 hours daily for the past 40 days. The choice of this specific product was clearly made due to the fact that it has been used in over 600 scientific studies and is considered the gold standard in its category. Comfortable, useful, accurate, seems to last over time, did not cause me any issues anywhere. I would buy it again.
In summary:
The strap: is comfortable, does not tighten anywhere and seems to be particularly elastic, so I assume it will be suitable for larger individuals as well. It does not move easily during use, so it maintains contact. As for durability, it has held up well so far, with intense workouts and frequent use (at least 2 hours daily). It has been in the washing machine 3 times, and it still looks like new. It doesn't require much for maintenance, and washing in the machine doesn't need to be done every day, but weekly. Usually, after the workout, you just wet the strap and let it dry, and wipe the sensor after you remove it.
The Polar app: is user-friendly, provides you with plenty of information, including duration, average heart rate, an estimate of calories (not the most accurate tool, however), and finally your minimum and maximum heart rates. Additionally, it keeps a "Diary" with your measurements, so you can check and save them anytime you want. Note here that the product essentially does not work without the app, as it has no screen, but it can connect to other devices (e.g., watch, or a treadmill/other equipment that supports Bluetooth).
Regarding the connection: I did not encounter any problems either with mobile use or with any other external gym equipment. Bluetooth connects easily and simply, as long as you follow the instructions provided. No issues so far.
On a personal level, due to a chronic illness, I need to monitor my heart rate variability (HRV) during workouts, so it has been a great help and provides data that is useful for my condition, to the point that my cardiologist uses it as a basis. So if someone needs something similar, then this product is probably a good choice.
Now, 40 days is not enough to say if the product truly lasts, so I will return in a few months for a review update.
