Description

The Asus ROG Zephyrus G16 GU603VV-N4007W is a Laptop intended for Gaming with a 16" screen.

• Model 2023
• Screen 16" 2560x1600
• Core i9 13900H-2.6GHz/Raptor Lake (13th Gen)
• Ethernet, HDMI, Thunderbolt 4, USB 3.2, USB-C
• Weight 2Kg

The processor it incorporates is the Intel Core i9 13900H clocked at 2.6Ghz Usually chosen by users who handle heavy applications and fully exploit multi-thread applications, for CAD, image processing, video, and sound. Also can be used for demanding gaming.

Has 16GB RAM DDR4 and is recommended for demanding applications such as image and video processing, music production, and sound editing.

The resolution is 2560x1600. Touch screens are particularly useful for users who work in environments that require quick and flexible navigation as well as editing such as image and video professionals. Education professionals could also find this feature particularly useful. However, laptops with touch screens tend to consume their battery faster.

The screen refresh rate is 240Hz which expresses the number of images displayed per second and relates to the quality of the image. The higher the refresh rate, the smoother and more enjoyable the image becomes without flickering. A screen from 120Hz and above, is mainly aimed at gamers.

Equipped with a disk SSD of 1TB. It has a capacity capable of storing a large volume of photos and videos as well as installing many programs.

It features the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060 with 8GB RAM. It is a graphics card that can run even the most modern games smoothly at high resolutions and at maximum settings.

Includes the operating system Windows 11 Home.

The Card Reader it comes with is useful for the user who is into photography and video. Otherwise, the purchase of a separate Card Reader will be necessary, which will also need to occupy one of the existing USB ports of the Laptop.

Finally, it offers connectivity options such as Ethernet, HDMI, Thunderbolt 4, USB 3.2, USB-C. With the HDMI port, you can connect an external monitor, TV, or Home Cinema that has this specific port for the purpose of extending the workspace, projecting movies from the Laptop onto larger screens, and transferring sound to higher quality sources.

With Thunderbolt 4 comes support for two 4K screens or one 8K, a significant upgrade compared to Thunderbolt 3 which supports up to one 5K resolution screen. The new standard is compatible with all previous generations of USB devices and uses the classic USB-C to C cables. It also provides power up to 100w for charging devices.

The laptop does exactly what it says on the tin when it comes to its specifications. I bought it for heavy programming (not that programming requires such a machine... and an i7 is more than enough... not lower though). I tested it on 2 games, Forza Horizon 5, running everything on extreme settings and anti-aliasing 8x, and it ran at a steady 70-80fps. In Microsoft Flight Simulator, it ran at 50-60fps on high settings with anti-aliasing 4x. (To play them properly, it needs to be plugged in). As for the battery, if you put it on silent mode and eco mode for the GPU, it lasts around 8-10 hours at 100% battery (I've seen someone who has reached 16 hours). The temperatures are good when it's on eco and silent mode, but they do increase afterwards, although nothing too alarming... within reasonable limits, I would say, for a 4060 and i9. In gaming, if you put it on turbo and performance mode, yes, the fans work like crazy (not constantly, it has an algorithm that regulates them), but the temperatures are very okay... the heat that comes out is because it has powerful fans and it blows out a lot of hot air (I have a PC with Ryzen 5 3400G & RX5500XT and the temperatures are much worse, and we're talking about a desktop, not a laptop that is tightly sealed...). Furthermore, the screen is amazing with fantastic colors and the 240Hz is unbelievably smooth. Finally, the laptop is fully customizable with Asus software, and one last thing I forgot to mention is that it charges fully in just 1 hour, so no matter how quickly the battery drains, as others say, it charges very quickly.
    I hope I helped you!

The laptop is powerful in terms of its technical specifications. But it has very poor temperatures. No matter what settings I put for the fans, it overheats. Even if I use a cooling pad, it still overheats. 95C for real. With gaming, regardless of the GPU it has, it runs games but the high temperatures throttle the performance and at worst, it crashes. And try playing when you have a keyboard that is so hot and fans that sound like airplane takeoffs. I have tried changing the thermal paste to see if it helps, but there was no change, so I will assume that these thermals are related to the laptop's airflow design. For gaming laptops or demanding tasks, stay away from this laptop.
