stay away from Asus. after 4 days of using quality usb cables for charging, it stopped charging. maybe 10/11 charges were done with the original charger and maybe one with a quality apple cable that has charged other devices for years without issue. the rog ally was purchased for €499 on black friday, and the repair cost for the scratching of the usb port was €603!!!!! in the end, I will fix it elsewhere and lose the warranty. Overall, a tragic representation and a vulnerable device. It's not worth the risk....
For those of you talking about the battery. It's not meant to be used without a power outlet anyway, it gives you a reasonable small autonomy like a regular GAMING laptop. You achieve the best performance when it's plugged in, as is logical. It's not a PSP, it's literally a handheld PC.

It is the best thing I have ever bought in my life. It is better than my friends' computers and it is slightly bigger than my phone. However, its battery is not very good because if you play high-quality games, it lasts about 1-1:30 hours. But it is worth it and more for its price

On the 7-inch screen, it feels like you're playing on a 2k monitor with high settings. You can't tell the difference.
It's quite fast in startup and loading times.
Compared to the Steam Deck, it's more comfortable to hold due to its size, weight, and thickness.
I like the Rogally much more, it runs everything without any adjustments.
Its weak point is the battery. It lasts for 50 minutes. So, either you stay plugged in or you buy a power bank.
Also, the Steam Deck is not silent. It wins in battery life but loses in fan noise.
To conclude, if you're into Steam games that it supports, go for the Steam Deck. But if you want everything, then the Rogally is the only way to go.
For those looking for a stable computer with a limited budget and the ability to do everything, this and a 20 euro dock work wonders. The battery is indeed an issue, it lasts about an hour on average, which is reasonable considering the device's power. It does indeed break the SD card slot, but who would use an SD card? With the same amount of money, you can upgrade the hard disk.
As a gamer for many years on a computer, I did not expect that such a machine would be able to play games so well, many positives as a console, let's say, practical to the end.
BUT let's take things as they are. First of all, its battery is not good, of course, running Windows 11 and demanding games. However, a better battery could make it 10 times better than it is. As for the connectivity to a TV, the game quality and performance suffer quite a bit, plus the fact that you need a keyboard and mouse, things that will cost you to go for something wireless of higher quality, so the whole package comes close to 1000 euros, which exceeds it. In other words, you can have a 1000 euro computer that will perform much better, but it won't be portable... as a user of two weeks playing on this, I had to charge it several times a day, something that makes you think that the main reason I bought it is because it is portable, you can have it with you on trips, always considering the battery life they claim will last up to 8 hours, which is not true. So, for someone who wants to buy it, they should consider that the biggest negative is the battery, which for me was the only negative.

Hello, I have the Asus for about a month. I have no words for how amazing this console is. As someone who has PS5, XSX, Nintendo Switch, I have put them aside and only play on the Asus. I have never had direct contact with games on PC and now I see the sweetness.
Positives: It runs heavy games like Cyberpunk, Starfield, Forspoken on low/medium graphics with very high sharpness and 1080p at 32 to 38 fps at 15W, and at 25W it runs at 40 to 45 fps without being plugged in, and at 30W with the charger it runs at 45 to 50 fps.
Negatives: The battery drains in AAA games in 1 to 1.30 hours at 25W, and at 15W it can last 2 to 2.5 hours.
So far, I haven't seen anything else in terms of software.
Finally, regarding the micro SD, I haven't dared to try putting it in because of the overheating issue and the possible alteration of the card and maybe a problem with the console itself.
For me, it's worth its money for anyone who doesn't want to spend money on two different consoles and wants a compact console with some compromises, it's perfect.
Purchase from Plaisio, I am very satisfied. A mid-range laptop that plays many games. Fast. We did a BIOS upgrade in general. Asus is top, it has support! Quality keys that don't creak like on the Switch. Solid construction with nice lighting. It surpasses Steam. Worth every euro. One thing to know is that the SD card function didn't work even once. I took it to the service center and they fixed this issue quickly! Upgrades were made after months. 1TB 2280 SSD, transparent back. With LED decor RGB and USB-C. What can I say, the Lenovo Go is like a slipper for the beach, I'm waiting for the Asus ROG X, it's coming very strong.
I believe that the console is worth every euro that ASUS asks for!!
- It plays everything from emulators to FORZA HORIZON 5 and BALDURS GATE 3 without lag and with amazing graphics and sound quality!!!
- The ARMOURY CRATE + Command Center is simply... you have to work with them to "feel" their value!!!
- The controller needs remapping to play certain games like MAME, Crash Bandicoot, but this doesn't take away from the quality and "value" of the console as it can be easily done through the options of each game!!!
- The only negative is the battery as most of the time, after about an hour or so, it needs to be plugged in to play...
- I will try other emulators-games and I will come back!!!
So far, I am completely satisfied!!
Some games I tried:
- Baldurs Gate 3 is simply IMPRESSIVE!!
- FH5, you can't tell if you're playing on the SERIES X or the ALLY.
- TEKKEN 7, and here... you can't tell if you're playing on the SERIES X or the ALLY!!
- F1 22, the graphics and gameplay are great, but the sound sounds a bit "broken".
- OUTRUN 2006 COAST 2 COAST... You just have to see it and play it if you're a fan of arcades!!!
- DIRT 2.0, and here I have no words, while if you "play" with the Operating Mode in combination with the ALLY on a socket, the results are impressive!!
August 2, 2023 Update
Having the OneXPlayer 6800U as a benchmark, I will comment on the following.
The build quality could be slightly better, as the plastic seems of lower quality compared to the OneXPlayer.
The screen quality and brightness are the same, with the difference being that the Asus can go up to 120Hz instead of 60.
Battery-wise, expect around 1.5 hours of duration with the performance profile and 2+ hours with the 10W profile for retro gaming, movies, etc.
The latest firmware and software updates fixed the minor issues that existed.
For most people who don't have a benchmark for comparison, I believe they will be satisfied.
Now, for those who have a Steamdeck, OneXPlayer, Aya Neo, GPD, Aokzoe A1, etc., they will definitely see both positives and negatives.
The biggest positive is the price for the device's performance and screen quality.
Being able to play Diablo 4 with a mix of medium/low graphics at 80fps, I don't think any other handheld console can achieve that.
Update: The console received firmware 323, and the FPS in games increased with the exact same settings. It plays flawlessly at 15W for Nintendo Switch emulation and can go up to 30W in dock mode. With the latest firmware, it now supports aftermarket chargers and docks from 65W and above.
I have one thing to say after 6 months.
