Skroutz Tip: For more shading, choose a fabric with high density or fabric weight to have a higher shading percentage. The weight of a fabric can exceed 300 gr/m². The higher the weight, the denser the weave, thus more shading and protection from weather conditions.
Specifications are collected from official manufacturer websites. Please verify the specifications before proceeding with your final purchase. If you notice any problem you can report it here.
Quite good quality although it's the first time I'm coming into contact with such a shade and I have no comparison measure.
Disadvantages:
The larger it is, the more it sags in the middle (you can't stretch it fully because you don't know the limit, so you don't know when it will stay in your ... hand).
It is perforated but with very small holes, and the rainwater doesn't drain quickly, resulting in ... more sagging.
The fabric gets soaked (it absorbs water) even in light rain as if it were ... wool, making it even heavier.
A decent shade for its price (satisfactory surface for a car).
You need to give it a significant slope (when we say significant, we mean significant) from one side so that ... the rainwater can run off, or you run and gather it when it starts drizzling.
It provides good shade for the money it asks for and cuts down a lot of heat (from the car). If I leave the front windows open 5 centimeters, I can get inside at noon in July without suffering from ... heatstroke.
The rope it comes with is flimsy, so you should get your own (at minimal cost).
For wall supports and tensioners, budget around 15 euros.
If you want to increase the height, you need metal. I used 40 x 40 millimeters x 2 millimeters thick. The 4 meters cost about 15 euros. I had welding equipment and attached it to the fence bars (it was very convenient for me). Generally, if the walls and the fence of your house don't work for you and you need to buy several meters of metal, the additional cost can easily (very easily) exceed fifty euros.
In considerable wind, it ... doesn't make any noise.
These are my thoughts after 2 weeks of use.
If I notice anything strange, I will come back.
UPDATE 17/7
After a month, everything is fine.
During a short downpour that occurred while I wasn't home to gather it, when I returned (it was still raining well), a significant amount of water passed through the center (it had sagged quite a bit).
The positive thing is that it hasn't loosened at all (when it dries after the rain, it returns to its shape, eliminating the ... sagging) and I haven't tightened the tensioners again.
As we said, it doesn't make noise in the wind.
There are bird droppings that appear from below like stains, but you can't easily clean them.
When summer is over, barring any unforeseen events, it will be washed in the washing machine and stored.
If I see anything else strange, I will update.
If it lasts the whole summer, it will have paid for itself.
The evaluation was made based on the purchase price. At 30-something euros, it's ridiculous to expect the shade to be comparable to ... a tiled roof. It cuts heat enough so that you can get into the car at reasonable temperatures. It's not meant for setting up a table and sipping coffee in the afternoon heat of 40 degrees.
UPDATE 12/9
It's nearing three months, and everything is fine. The fabric and rings are in excellent condition. I tried to put it in a 7-kilo washing machine, but it got too cramped. So I spread it out on the patio and weighed it down with a hose. The droppings came off easily since they had dried. It was gathered and stored.
To be honest, I didn't expect it to last the whole summer without ... losses, not so much due to rain but because of the wind.
It has paid for itself, and God willing, we’ll go for a second summer.
UPDATE 20/5
So, it's the second summer.
It came out of storage and was set up exactly as last year.
It's intact. I have the impression that we will get through this summer too unless something shocking happens. I will update.
CAUTION: When there is a lot of wind (around 4 Beaufort if I can estimate), the fabric sways quite a bit. It can go up to about 40 to 50 points above or below the resting position. I estimate that this happens to me because I have put over 1 meter of rope on both ends, and it has quite a bit of tolerance. I can't stretch it any further because I'm afraid it might tear. Of course, it hasn't suffered any damage as I've mentioned. I'm saying this so that you leave enough space from the car's roof. This is because most cars have the antenna on the roof, and if there isn't enough space, the antenna can puncture the fabric due to the oscillation. And then it will come apart like... a sweater!!!
UPDATE 25/8
The second summer is coming to an end. It is intact, as if not a day has passed. The truth is that this summer there wasn't much wind (calm most days) nor did it rain (except for one day when it dropped 10 drops) to say that it was worn out. At the end of September, it will be washed like last year and stored.
UPDATE 16/11
It was washed again at the stamped and stored. It is like new. We're going for a third summer, God willing
In the diploma, around 2.5 meters wide and throughout the length, it had holes. Personally, I took it to a tent and had it cut to the 2 meters width I wanted, so I didn't return it. The rope inside is a joke, you can't do anything with it. I had to improvise where I put it.
Simply top quality. Buy with your eyes closed. You will find good boat fenders here. It doesn't understand anything about air. For sun, it would be better if it were black.
Very good fabric and waterproof. I bought it for 45 euros and even got two. At 29 euros, buy without hesitation. For installation, you will need tensioners (photo). They help to stretch the fabric well so that it doesn't make noise when it's windy and doesn't create puddles when it rains.
Very good fabric quality. Easy installation. Easy gathering. Of course, the rope included in the package is not of good quality. I used my own.
"It's not 'shading' bad as it is written, it doesn't make shade, it slightly cuts the sun more decorative it is."
Very durable!!! Personally, I wanted the light to pass through, so it is exactly what I was asking for. However, if you want complete shading, it is better not to choose it.
The dimensions are not the ones mentioned. It is 3.50X5 fully stretched. I bought it for a car parking space of 3.30X6m and it was empty!
So far, it's going very well. Dimensions are 4x3 meters.
Buy it without fear.
I disagree with the price. It should be worth 15 to 20 euros because it's all plastic canvas. It doesn't have any cotton at all.
The ropes that it had were slipping, so I had to use other ropes. Furthermore, when I put them on, I realized that they had a "dent" in the center, which, with my simple logic, means that they had already been used quite a bit and had received a lot of vertical air pressure. In hindsight, I realized that it may mean that it needs to be installed flat and not tilted. Also, the material is shiny and therefore attracts solar radiation, which is the worst thing for a shading cloth. A better name would be greenhouse cloth... However, all this testing was at the expense of my pocket because the product is now non-returnable... The conclusions are yours, but for God's sake, do not buy it for shading cloth... Good morning
It looks very durable, just like its hooks, and the shading is very good. For its price, it's great.
In a space of 5x6, possibly the best value for money (VFM) to have 80% shade, with temperatures of 35°, you can sit comfortably underneath and not feel the slightest discomfort from the sun. It was recently tested in heavy rain and strong wind, and it didn't even notice. The only thing that the product lacks is not related to the quality of the fabric but to the rope that comes with it, it is funny in both quality and length. Obviously, a stronger and longer rope was purchased. Other than that, I consider it to be one of the best purchases you can make for easy shading
The cloth has provided very good shade and is quite durable. And mine had a hole in a certain spot, towards the center, but it wasn't bothersome nor did it open further. In rain, there is a problem because water doesn't easily pass through, so it needs to be placed at an angle. The rope in the packaging... a joke, for the tightening and stretching that is needed, another one was purchased. It should also have at least two more holes around the perimeter for tying.
Friends, it doesn't block 90% of the sun, at most it's 60%!! So you get burned underneath, the sun hits you as if you have a useless beach umbrella. Completely useless for the Greek sun, it might be useful in England...
The only good thing is that the fabric is slightly stronger than the other cheap ones... but even that is of poor quality.
Very good shade and beautiful.
Its application is very easy and it blends quickly if needed.
