The Code of Judicial Officers was ratified by Law 4798/2021 (Government Gazette A' 68/24.4.2021). Its purpose, according to Article 1, "is the upgrading and modernization of the status of judicial officers, so as to ensure their dignified, rational, and creative work, and to achieve their substantial contribution to the smooth and effective functioning of the courts, as well as to the quality and prestige of Justice".

The Code of Judicial Officers is presented here codified and updated with the amendments brought by Laws 4816/2021, 4842/2021, 4855/2021, 5001/2022, 5003/2022, 5016/2023, and 5028/2023.
