Light density filters reduce shutter speed on bright sunny days, making it easier to decrease depth of field or use wider apertures. They are ideal for shots with fast lenses such as F1.4 or F1.2, providing a softer and more beautiful bokeh.

Medium density filters add motion blur to objects in conditions that do not allow for natural slow shutter speeds.

For creative shots with extremely low shutter speeds, deep density filters are recommended. ND filters, such as ND500 or ND1000, allow for the creation of dramatic surreal images, beyond the limits of human perception.
