When talking about printers, surely the first thing that comes to mind is HP printers. (Not that Epson, Canon, Brother, etc. don't come to mind as well) but how can we help it, we all had an HP Deskjet at home at some point (and maybe still do) that we have associated with our childhood years. Now, I opened a Word document to write this little text and the printer woke up, thinking it was going to print, but little did it know that I opened Word for spell checking! :P (more on that later - no, I don't mean spell checking)
Choosing a printer is a bit chaotic out there, as there are so many options now, countless features and reviews. But what can you do, at the end of the day you have to choose one and stick with it as long as it lasts. The two main features you look for when buying a printer are connectivity and ink cost. Something that this particular HP printer checks all the boxes for.
Design and build quality;
No matter how you look at it, it has a design and perhaps one of the most beautiful printers out there. It is compact with a simple yet very beautiful design. It's no coincidence that it won the iF DESIGN AWARD 2023. Also, the plastics are of high quality and sturdy, and it doesn't give you the impression that it will fall apart if you lift it. (BONUS: I would say it can withstand a few hits from small children.)
On the top left, there is a small screen with buttons for all the functions you can perform. At the back, after lifting the sliding input tray (as HP calls it), you place the paper, while at the front, there is the lid for scanning.
At the front, that's where the paper comes out, and after opening the door, you can access the ink cartridges and print heads a bit further inside.
Installation;
And now comes the moment when you have bought it, brought it home, opened it, and you're like, "Oops, now what do I do?" No matter how much of a high-end user you are, a drop of sweat comes to mind that even you, the mighty and terrific builder, might make a mistake.
After taking it out of the box, which HP has made very easy for you because they put it in a bag with handles and you just pull it (a big bravo to HP for not making you struggle with bubble wrap and the box until you manage to take it out), the moment of connection comes.
Here you can (and should) download the HP app or open the manual that comes with the box to guide you through the next steps (but I will tell you anyway), and they do it very well, step by step. I would recommend downloading the app because it will connect the printer to your WIFI, which is very easy, and it will be useful later on.
You start by removing the cardboard and tapes (TIP: remove the cardboard from the front first and then open the lid) and once you're done, you turn it on. It shows you that it doesn't have ink, something that shouldn't scare you because HP and the smart tank, in general, have made it very easy. You open the lid of each ink and place the bottle after it is filled to the top, you can remove it without worrying if even a drop will spill outside (well, don't do it like a clumsy person because then you might have a little problem) gently and with love. Then we have the printheads, which are like all the printheads out there, you just have to be careful not to touch the film and get stuck. Then you place the paper, align it, scan what you printed, and you're ready.
Printing Speed and Quality;
Apart from what it claims to do, such as fast printing and the like (to be honest, who cares if it prints in 12 or 20 seconds when it comes to home use). I will focus on the print quality since it does not disappoint in terms of color accuracy. The color prints are vibrant and precise, without significant variations in shading or hue, even in multiple prints. The black and white prints, I would say, are close to perfection with a clean and clear image, without smudges, making it suitable for both text and images. As for durability, the prints remain untouched even after prolonged use. Especially in photos, I would say it is quite good considering that to have a very good result, you have to go for a printer that costs 600-700 euros.
Verdict;
The installation was very easy and informative thanks to HP, just don't throw away the manual and use your head. The app is well-designed and informative. It connected to any device in the house, from desktop, laptop, Android, and Apple without any problem, and I haven't noticed any issues regarding connectivity. Also, I chose it because it offers a 3-year warranty and until the end of July, it gives you a 30 euro cashback. I highly recommend it if you want to invest in a very good printer for the next few years with low cost per page.

I was experiencing a problem where all the lights would randomly blink, and the only solution was to turn it off and turn it back on to fix it. I discovered that HP has released a firmware update that fixes it. So, I recommend doing the firmware update after purchasing.

Very bad printer. The first one broke in two weeks and the second one in one week. And HP's service kept transferring us from one colleague to another after a month of talking for hours with them without getting anywhere, they brought us a black and white one that I don't need. Just thieves!!!

At first, it confused us a bit with the installation and the apps, but it is very good. Through the app, you can print whatever you want, documents, photos, as long as the printer is turned on.
I have had it for 2 months. On the first installation, it indicated a problem with the color cartridge. HP replaced it for me in 1 week (Samothrace shipping - no problems and very polite). It connected easily to 2 laptops, 3 Android and iOS phones, and 1 iPad. The signal emitted by the printer is detected by both PS4s. I have had no disconnections. The first print is a bit slow, but it doesn't bother me (10 sec). Good print quality and construction. If you change the password on the router's wifi, it's best to delete it from all devices as a printer and re-add it in the app as a new printer. The connection to the wifi and the settings adjustment is done only through the app. It was easy for me. I got it because I had an HP 4500 OfficeJet, which now had expensive inks, and I couldn't connect from multiple devices simultaneously (the machine probably didn't allocate many IPs). After 2 months of daily use in the office and school, it has no problems, and the inks are intact. For me, the code for Instaink didn't work, or I didn't do it correctly, but I didn't receive the free inks that others mention in comments. HP told me that this printer model is not eligible for free ink, although through my HP account, I have the option to register for Instaink. I don't know; I didn't look into it further. For me, so far, it's worth it - for the HP4500, I wanted almost 80 - 90 euros for 2 inks.
In terms of features and price, everything is fine. However, it has nothing to do with what you expect. Very slow printing. I have it connected wirelessly to the PC and almost daily it loses the connection or shows 'busy'. I have tried everything but it doesn't want to cooperate. Average printing and scanner quality. If it worked properly, for the use I want it for, I wouldn't mind the quality, but definitely the fact that it doesn't work sometimes or those times it does work, it prints so slowly, then it's useless. Overall, a very bad product.

New product and during the installation the first time it shows a message that there is a problem with the color cartridge. I spoke with HP service and I am waiting for a new cartridge.
The truth is that some reviews scared me a little before buying it, but luckily none of them is true. The printer is awesome and the app works perfectly without any problem. I use it on my iPhone, maybe the problems that some people write about are on Android, I don't know, but for me it works perfectly. It connected almost by itself without me doing anything and it's smooth. The print quality is incredible, even on photos. To get the right and good quality on the photo, the paper plays an important role. I have bought special paper for photos with good quality and it prints simply flawlessly! It's worth every euro spent on it!!!
It seems to be of very good quality, both in terms of the multifunction device itself and its materials, as well as the print quality. A serious problem is the unlimited time and patience required to fully install it so that you can print either via Wi-Fi or USB. Unfortunately, the only downside is that its application responds quite slowly, and you get frustrated until it finishes.
The printer is quite good. The plastics are okay, although it has some creaks, but it is of better quality than similar entry-level Brother printers. The installation is very easy and is done through the application that guides you step by step. The print quality is good, although personally, the ink is not absolute black in texts (which is logical for an Ink Tank). The first print is slow, but if you do more, the process speeds up significantly (although I am used to laser printers). Incredibly economical, especially in color, with very affordable ink cartridge replacements.
Just to mention that the first printer broke on its second use on the day of purchase, but I must have gotten a defective one.

I have had it for about 2 months and it is my ultimate value for money purchase. It is connected to the HPsmart program on three computers and a mobile phone. The only negative is that sometimes it disconnects and it may take a while to reconnect. On the positive side, HP had an additional discount offer after the purchase, which was 50€, making it an even more worthwhile purchase. The ink cartridges seem endless, and for normal printing needs, I believe it truly deserves its price.

Easy installation following the instructions. It connected easily even to the router, although I personally recommend wireless connection only if someone really needs it.
We empty the color inks completely by filling the cartridges, the black ink is left over and there is also a second black ink.

It is intended for amateur use, it loads the paper from the top and takes a while to start the first print of the day, but it serves me well as a second machine in the office. A color laser multifunction printer would start from €300, while for medium quality and above the cost increases even more. Probably the combination of a black and white laser printer for the main printing volume with this multifunction printer for a second (and color) printer and scanner excels in terms of economy and reliability. The obvious drawback is that I have at least 2 printers connected and 4 cables at the back...
