The LT500D by Cudy is a mobile router, a device to which other devices (e.g., computer, mobile phone, television) connect wirelessly, and it distributes internet access to them. It receives internet access through the built-in modem and uses the mobile network with the installation of a SIM card.
With a built-in 4G LTE modem and integrated SIM card slot, all you need to do is insert a nano SIM card and power on the router. Enjoying fast, stable Wi-Fi on a 4G LTE network has never been easier.
The WAN/LAN port can be configured as a WAN port or
LAN port. When working in LAN mode, the LT500 is simply a
regular 4G LTE router.
While operating in WAN mode, the LT500 can maintain 4G and WAN connections at the same time, and provide Internet preferably from
wired ports to reduce 4G mobile data bills.
With built-in VPN, this router can easily connect to a VPN server to transfer all online data and traffic, securing them with its encryption at the same time simultaneously.

Perfect, if you play a bit with the APN settings it works wonders. It's a pity that the price has gone up so much, I had bought it for 50 euros.
It's quite a good little router with a SIM card for those who don't have the option of a wired internet connection. The settings are easy when you access it via the IP to change the DNS. For gamers, a good choice is to use the Quad9 DNS. It's the fastest one available. I didn't use the back screw antennas that came with the box but preferred to buy 2 external antennas that connect to the SMA-type ports behind the modem and I placed them on the balcony with 3 meters of cable each. I consistently get 20-25 ping with Cosmote, excellent response for the games I play. Also, connection to the PC via LAN cable (and I preferred CAT7 Ethernet). Be sure to remove the password on the SIM before inserting it into the router. I didn't encounter any interruptions during 2-hour gaming sessions.
Purchased to replace the terrible mobile wifi router sold by Vodafone. The difference was immediately noticeable, as both the download and upload speeds increased from 0.2/0.2 Mbps to 26/11 Mbps just by inserting the micro sim and without configuring it (in Halkidiki, where 4G caps at 30 Mbps)

Excellent 4G reception with Nano Sim, quite good WiFi coverage at 2.4GHz, but incredible coverage with crazy beamforming at 5GHz. Place it flat against the wall at 1.80-1.90 with the top antennas (LTE) at a 45-degree angle and the side ones (WiFi) extended to the right and left __\ /__ and you will remember me. Just make sure there is open space in front of it where it will be placed to spread the beam, meaning don’t close it in a storage room or a tiny 2x2 room. It really kills, penetrating 2 and 3 walls with ease. With the router in the living room on the 5th floor "looking" outside, I have satisfactory reception (about 30dB) on the 3rd. It accepts mesh, so maybe later I will add a Cudy WR1300 (30€) with 4+1 Gigabit LAN/WAN Ports - Dual Band with 4xBeamforming WiFi antennas - WPA3 security - Captive Portal - OpenWrt ready [update] +Cloud and many more, to set it up on 5GHz as a Wireless AP/Mesh or WISP mode in a good spot on the 3rd for coverage from the 2nd to the 5th floor, bypassing the 10/100 limitation of the LT500D... if it ever downloads over 100Mbps with 4G/LTE here where I am. With less than 100€ total, I cover 3+ floors of 80-100 sq.m.
Super easy setup with a very friendly interface that does almost everything by itself. It has 4 LAN 10/100 ports and one can be WAN/LAN as chosen from the software. It comes pre-installed with about 10 VPN providers (WireGuard Client/Server, OpenVPN, IPSec among others) for those who want to "play" more privately... and there are on/off switches for internet and VPN for all connected devices, wired and wireless.
Caution: It is essential to disable the Sim Lock on a tablet or mobile before inserting the card into the LT500D slot, otherwise, you will struggle for no reason. After that, just insert the card, go to the quick setup, and it will find everything else by itself. If you have Cosmote and get it mixed up like the friend above, or get lost in the settings of the 4G provider, with the Sim in the slot, enter: AT+CGDCONT= 1,"IP","internet","0.0.0.0",0,0 in the "AT Command" option, press Enter, and in 5" you will be connected to Cosmote.
A very valuable and useful feature is that it also accepts "wireless WAN" via WiFi, which it calls WISP (Wireless ISP), so depending on what kind of internet connections you have available, it can operate in 3 modes WAN/WISP/4G where it automatically prioritizes the internet input from the WAN port (e.g., from a modem/router/extender), if the WAN connection is interrupted, it automatically switches to WISP mode (wireless internet via WiFi from a second router, or from a known Hotspot e.g., from a mobile or a free Hotspot), and if those are interrupted, or if there are no WAN and WISP connections, then it switches to using the 4G connection, if WAN or WISP connection comes back, it disconnects from the 4G. The whole process happens without the slightest interruption, described as "4G Backup" by Cudy and works automatically when it finds other active internet connections besides the 4G.
Tip: If you use WISP connection, select only the 5GHz band on the Router/Repeater/AP you want to connect to (if it is Dual Band), completely ignore the 2.4GHz! This will give "Gigabit+" vitality to both WiFi bands that the LT500D will create, especially at 5GHz!!

It has very good support at [email protected], so good that I made a mistake and installed a (EU) firmware from Cudy's site... which was only for German ISPs, and I lost the Greek ISPs for which there is no "ELL" firmware available online, so I couldn't connect anywhere with the SIM. I explained what happened, and they sent me the latest "ELL" version the very next day in response to my email, newer than the pre-installed one on the router, so it turned out well for me.
It has two types of firmware, one visible for the hardware and one hidden for the ISPs, which you access with this link from the router's web interface (LuCI): http://cudy.net/cgi-bin/luci/admin/network/gcom/upgrade and it only applies to the LT500 V2 and LT500D V2. The EC200AELLAR01A05M16.bin firmware comes pre-installed on the specific models for the Greek market today. I chose this specific router because I always prefer to have detachable mobile antennas, in case I need to play with extensions and external antennas for signal enhancement, but when I saw within the day 40 to 60+ Mbps 4G Down/Up among the apartment buildings with the LTE bands on automatic, I won't bother with hacks even for fun.
I also have the TP-Link MR400 V3.0 (4G-10/100-2.4GHz/5GHz-detachable LTE antennas) and the TP-Link MR600 V3.0 (4G+/Gigabit/mesh/detachable LTE antennas/cloud) in different locations, with the MR600 in a very difficult spot with 2 external antennas costing €5 that improved the signal from 25% to 75%!
OK, the MR600 with 4G+ is top-notch in the €100-150 category and cannot be compared, but the LT500D (4G-10/100-mesh-2.4GHz/5GHz-detachable LTE antennas/external WiFi antennas [update] +Cloud) is significantly cheaper and class superior in connectivity compared to the MR400, with which it is directly comparable. Also, the LT500D has greater WiFi coverage at 5GHz than both the MR400 and MR600, which have internal WiFi transmission antennas.
I admit I didn't expect it to be this good! I wrote a lot again; I hope I helped those who have it or are interested in acquiring it.

It is perfect, it just needs a SIM card and a frame, but then it takes you to the menu and you have to go through a rather time-consuming process (to add cosmic pins, etc.) if you skip the installation process, it is a quite reliable router that also supports 5G, which I liked were the Ethernet ports as I could connect the consoles and the computer and have a more stable network, it also has a very good range, meaning I was on a floor above the router and it still had signal
