I thought it only happened to us but I saw that it is common for the top side to stop working after a few months of use
After 4 months of typical, daily use, the device stopped working in the middle of baking.
Amazing toaster, for the nine months that I managed to use it on a daily basis before it broke. I see that others have exactly the same problem: the top plate breaks and a replacement cannot be found. Really a shame. We threw our money away.
I bought it to quickly cook meat on weekdays when I'm in a hurry due to work, as well as Arabic dishes. The meat grilling is very fast (in 4 minutes I have a ready burger, chicken, or kebab) because the heat is distributed evenly. I have a thermometer to know when it's ready. I have made the dishes that I attach in the photos, as well as pork kebabs and chicken. The plates reach a good temperature and create grill marks.
Of course, the plates do not cook exactly the same uniformly. It also has a drip tray where the juices drain and collect. Only when there is enough liquid do they flow backward. Otherwise, they accumulate and the meat becomes steamed. That's why when needed (meat with a lot of liquid like chicken), I lift it on the front legs to have an incline for the liquids to flow backward. For these reasons, I give it two stars.
Cleaning is a breeze. With the soft side of the sponge, all the residues slide off easily.
I have had it for 1.5 to 2 months and I definitely use it twice a day. It hasn't had any damage yet, which I see has been mentioned several times and has worried me, to tell the truth. I will provide an update if anything happens.
UPDATE: May 2024. The top heating element gave up. What a shame. Because it was doing a good job. A replacement couldn't be found for some reason, so the toaster was replaced with one from another brand
Very good Toaster - Grill, beautiful, heats up quickly, grills evenly, fully non-stick, has the ability to adjust the height, very important so that the toast doesn't get squashed...
I received it on 08/09 and used it for 20 days on a daily basis to make toast, and I used it 2 times if I remember correctly to grill sausages and 1 time for steaks. On 28/09, the heating element burned out and it was sent for service on the same day.
After a month in service and being left without a toaster - you don't spend money to buy a second one when you have already spent about 65 euros -, I finally received it on 23/10, so it continued its amazing work until today (20/12) in the morning, when it never turned on and we were left without toast.
Again...
It's a shame because it did a very good job, as long as it worked, but it can't go for a second time to change the heating element since September (I imagine it has the same problem as last time).
No matter how good a job it did, I will replace it with another one through Skroutz again.
The toast turns out well only with oven bread or regular bread. Toast bread doesn't even come close, the oil from the cheese comes out and they become soggy. It takes a long time to cook in general. I am not particularly satisfied, but neither dissatisfied. The Tefal one I had was much better.
After 1.5 months of use and generally 15 times of operation only for toasting, the toaster stopped working. Maybe I got a defective product but I wouldn't recommend it.
Quite good and sturdy construction. The plates (aluminum with non-stick coating) come out and go in easily with the press of a button. Additionally, it opens completely and has 2 plates for grilling. It has such a slope that the juices from grilling go directly into a removable container. It comfortably fits 2 sandwiches, while the height adjustment of the top plate is convenient for a double sandwich without flattening it
