Description
The year is 50 B.C. Gaul is entirely occupied by the Romans. Well, not entirely... One small village of indomitable Gauls still holds out against the invaders. And life is not easy for the Roman legionaries who garrison the fortified camps of Totorum, Aquarium, Laudanum, and Compendium.
Peace reigns in the small village, where the villagers go about their daily business. Our two heroes, Asterix and Obelix, hunt wild boar, watch the blacksmith's quarrel with the fisherman, and the village chief parades around the village square on his shield.
After a good day's hunt, Asterix and Obelix return to find their village in flames, plundered by the Romans! They set out to rescue their fellow villagers, accompanied by their faithful Dogmatix. Their journey will take them to Normandy, Greece, Switzerland, Egypt, and finally, Rome, to save the villagers from the clutches of Emperor Caesar...

Reviews
Graphics: It is a remastered version of the PS2. There is a significant upgrade, allowing you to immediately see the difference from the original. Of course, it is not among the top titles, but it doesn't bother you at all.
Gameplay: Okay, we go ahead and beat up Romans in a classic way. It is a linear game, you have fun for a while but then get bored since you are constantly doing the same thing. They didn't add anything new at all.
Story: It simply exists to progress the game.
Overall: A decent remastered version, but that's about it. The graphics upgrade is worth mentioning, but nothing new in terms of gameplay. It's a pleasant game that is worth buying at a low price. I encountered 2-3 bugs and the levels also didn't load properly.

Did you find this review helpful? The game is very amazing and it feels like playing the old PS2 version from 2004. The graphics are nice, not incredible, but they match the game's style. I didn't like that they added difficulty options, but I'll let it slide because it helps some people and gives you a reason to replay the game from the beginning but with a higher difficulty. I liked that they added extra content like time trials and score attack. It had some issues, but they fixed them in the PS5 version, utilizing the power of the SSD to load in 1 second and play in 4K at 60FPS without any lag, except for a few instances that I encountered. The game occasionally experiences bugs, but you have to be very observant to come across them. It's worth it if you're a collector of games or if you're looking for a game with easy to moderate difficulty to earn the Platinum trophy.
