Reliable. It has been working 24/7 with a SIM in a remote area for a year. There are constantly connected devices (cameras) that send signals continuously without any issues. The power goes out, and when it comes back, everything is fine. There is remote control capability via an app. When multiple devices are connected, it is really perhaps even faster than a simple stable VDSL connection.
Easy and simple installation especially if you download the dedicated app.
Speed is very good but always depends on the mobile network provider.
I always have it plugged on due to the frequent power cuts in Greece.
I personally believe that this device is ideal where there's no landline network.
For this amount of money it's a good choice as technology changes and for sure you will have to replace it after a few years.
I don't know if it was this specific defective one, but it never worked... Sometimes it would receive the signal and sometimes it would lose it... Until it completely gave out... A waste of money
This one was purchased for 24-hour operation 7 days a week. I've been a owner for about 2 months, and I haven't encountered any problems. It has a stable connection and quite good signal reception
I got it for the village where we didn't even have a landline and they were asking us a ton of money to bring a line!!! Full signal everywhere and I work with the laptop normally at work when needed!!!! I highly recommend it! Also, smart TV and we watch Netflix normally!!!!
I've been using it for years now and it's problem-free. I got one for a friend and he is absolutely satisfied as well. It does its job as it should.
Very slow, with 4G on my mobile in the area where I live I am at 150mbps if I remove the sim card from the mobile and put it in the router it does not go above 40mbps with great instability and drops to 24mbps
I have it in the village where there is no stable line due to the non-existent internet... and it almost always catches full signal. I have it for telecommuting for several months and I am very satisfied!
Just if you have an issue with the Internet, do not choose this solution. You will be even more disappointed.
(This review was written with the hope that it will be uploaded someday)
slower in speed than the mobile connection. It needs a good spot to catch a signal, 2 bars where the mobile has almost full signal
I think I reached a good speed.
The router is fine, I have version v5.3, the important thing is to have a good signal and antenna in the desired band. I have all the settings on automatic, I haven't done anything special.
If I could give 0 stars, I would. Unacceptable router. In a house next to a Cosmote antenna where I would get 4G with mobile devices at around 100 and 80, with full signal, this one barely reaches 15mbps in download. It's not even worth 20€.
I have the ZTE MC801A where I am EXTREMELY satisfied and because one of its external antenna plugs broke, I took it for service and decided to get a 4G modem to have it in case of emergency like now. I went to public and found this specific one and bought it. THE WORST 80€ I HAVE EVER SPENT. From getting 70-100 download on 4G with the ZTE, I ended up with 10-20 download with this piece of crap. I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT AT ALL
It does its job perfectly for a vacation home and in collaboration with the company that each person has, you can get a sim card and have internet without a fixed line! You need to find a spot inside the house that catches the signal well! Once you catch the signal, it doesn't stop or have interruptions! It's worth its money! I've been using it for 1 year at my vacation home!
For the cottage, it is incredible. It is very light, you can easily carry it. I am completely satisfied.
It works flawlessly for 3 years in a cottage, it hasn't had the slightest issue.
I read comments from some of you talking about disconnections and such.
Guys, if you don't know how to set it up, don't buy it or call a SPECIALIST to configure it for you.
Tireless. I left it at the country house for cameras and heating/lighting via wifi and for 6 months there hasn't been a single disconnection. It just needs power. And with the TP-Link app, you have remote monitoring. It's worth every penny.
Good evening, very good product as you can see in the photos. When the mobile has E, the router with 2 lines reaches 50 mbps. What else does anyone ask for from a little router? I would buy it again without hesitation, with a Vodafone SIM card.
Update 7/12/2024 ...after a year of operation everything is perfect you don't need to look for anything else....I have connected 3 ptz cameras in a vacation home it works perfectly for almost a month now you definitely connect comfortably and the alarm. I am lucky the antenna in a straight line is at 200 meters the wifi is very satisfactory with the router in the center of the house with thick walls in between
If I were to buy it again, I would go for the 5GHz (the router's second operating band - more expensive of course, €90). However, at €60, it is very good and does the job. At first, I didn't have a good signal reception from my mobile, but it turned out to be a coverage issue with the mobile network. So, if you get it, make sure that the company covers your area with 4G.
I bought it for my vacation home. It works better than I expected with the red company's card. I have speeds of 30-40mbps with a 3/5 signal strength. It had one interruption, but it wasn't due to a device problem, it was bad weather. I believe it's worth it at 65-70€.
For the use I make of it, on weekends in the village... It does its job just fine! Stable, good signal, easy installation, easy menu and app.
Excellent.
Just find a way to place it next to a window, so that it has the best possible "visual" contact with the outside world
In the two years it lasted, with difficulty in getting a signal from the provider, I tested SIM cards from all three major providers in two homes and an office. Due to the low signal, it frequently disconnects, practically rendering it useless.
While it was functioning, it was okay even in an area with not particularly good signal. Paying 100 euros for 2 years, you can't call it a value for money choice, I do not recommend it.
I have nothing to say... the photo says it all... on the mobile with data from Cosmote network and on the TV router, with a Cosmote SIM card, connected to the internet... the measurements were taken from the same spot... as for the router, it's garbage... I wasted my money
With two out of three signal strength bars (presumably due to the area), it doesn't have a serious problem sending data to our mobile phones. It works perfectly with Ethernet on the TV! For me? Yes! Pretty good!
AWESOME!!! I solved the problem regarding internet in my country house (Alepochori, Pefkogiali) consistently at a range of 18mb - 30mb download with a change in the band (zone) using a Cosmote sim. WiFi radius easily reaches 30 meters next to a window at a frequency of 2.4ghz. Connected are 2 mobile phones, 2 tablets, a smart TV, full streaming, and no lagging. I won't describe any further :)
