The horizontal aluminum buttons lock left & right with something plastic that is painted in the same color! Also, the aluminum ones have small rubber bands to prevent them from moving left & right, which you put inside on the left & right of the wood! (I don't know how long they will last).

For the above 2 reasons, I consider the product overpriced even though the wood is of good quality.
