Unfortunately, the case mm is 41 and not 43 as stated in the technical specifications, it does not glow at all in the dark, and the bracelet is of low quality; of course, with €52, don't expect anything better... you get what you pay for. However, it seems durable, and with the money it costs, you don't really care if it happens to get damaged
Much more beautiful than it looks in the photos, just what is needed for small wrists. The weather will show if it will withstand daily use although Casio is synonymous with the word durability!
The best watch for the money. CASIO warranty.. Very honest watch, sturdy, you don't fear hitting it here and there. The best quality-price ratio.

edit: from Spring 2024 until now 01/2025 it hasn't lost EVEN 1 MINUTE
This watch is proof of why Casio is globally known for its reliable and affordable watches. Having owned many digital Casio and Square G-Shock watches, I wanted a new watch with hands this time, that could be worn daily with any activity and outfit. However, I wanted it to be smaller on the wrist than the "all-weather" MDV-106 Duro that I have had for a while, and most importantly, I wanted it to display the correct time (after all, why do we need a watch?). I left out the automatic mechanism option, as I prefer watches that don't lose minutes every month, so quartz again. Taking cost into consideration, only one option emerged: the MTD-1053D that you are looking at now! You will find many videos and reviews about it, as it has been on the market for years (previously as the MDV-101 with the sword on the dial), so it is proven to be reliable - and I won't go into details, let's get practical: It is a "diver" watch with unexpectedly small size, suitable for any wrist. The build quality surpasses that of other branded watches costing at least twice as much. It looks much more expensive than in the photos, and considering the price it asks for what it is, I would call it the "best buy Casio" along with the G-Shock DW-5600. If you like its appearance, are a watch collector, or simply need a good watch without spending too much, buy it without a second thought!
Update 2/2024: Only a 6-second loss in 2 months, while the second hand "snaps" accurately to the dial markers (at least in my piece). Sometimes the bracelet catches a hair. It looks balanced on my wrist (16.5 cm). If you have a larger wrist or prefer bigger watches, check out the larger "brother" MDV-107, which has the same mechanism. Completely satisfied, I'm also considering getting the blue version.
I was looking for a nice gift to give to my boyfriend... And I think I made the best choice after a lot of searching! He loved it and takes good care of it... I am more than satisfied!
I bought it completely randomly after reading its reviews. (I was looking for an everyday watch).
It's not bad, it looks a bit cheap. What can I expect with 50€!
Now, in terms of size, it's just right, neither small nor big... I would say ideal.
I used to wear Tissot and Seiko for many years, when I first put this one on, it felt heavy compared to the others, but I got used to it immediately.
I got it yesterday, so I don't have an opinion on its durability.
I give it 4 stars mainly for its appearance, I would have preferred it to be more authentic.
The fact that it was missing from my collection (I have 7 other Casios) I considered it sacrilege. Heavy watch, classic diver's watch that a similar one from another "economical" brand costs over 100 euros. Without being impressive, it has a good appearance, somewhat conservative of course, while the name Casio guarantees its quality, durability, and accuracy. What I didn't like and I deduct one star for: a) its packaging, which is in a relatively soft cardboard box, while other, even cheaper models of the same brand are in a transparent plastic case, b) the second hand pointer does not align exactly with the indicators, and c) it has a little bit of phosphorus. Definitely worth the price and I highly recommend it, but an experienced eye immediately understands that it is not a great watch.
It's worth every penny. And don't forget, Casio is the Toyota of watches. They are durable, unbreakable, and never malfunction, especially this one with its 20-bar waterproofing. Get it with your eyes closed
Very good purchase in terms of quality and price. The only downside is that it is impossible to see the time in the dark. The phosphorescent points do not help because they are too small.
There is no chance you will find something better at 50-60, so it's definitely worth it. The only "bad" thing is that it came with a very large bracelet for me, but even if you take it to a specialist, it won't cost more than 5 euros to resize it. Also, it's not very big, I say this because even I expected it to be bigger without measuring it, but believe me, it is the perfect size for a man's hand.
Casio demonstrates how capable it is in presenting everyday watches. The watch is truly perfect. In terms of its price, one cannot expect anything else. Extremely durable, with a good battery and capabilities underwater, I don't know what else someone could ask for.
Very good choice for the money. The only thing I can attribute to it is that after I adjusted the bracelet on my wrist, after a while it "overflowed" a little and I took out another piece. Otherwise, perfect.
Basically, we are talking about the small 40mm sibling of the MDV-106 Duro, the humble but honorable MTD-1053. Previously, it was released in the MDV-101 version with the sword hand on the dial, just like our well-known Duro.
At €50, Casio's mama has no rival. Just seeing the seconds hand aligning with the center of the indices is enough!
The bracelet was replaced with a €20 Hirsch silicone tractor strap that I had, and I think it suits it very well.
If you are looking for a beater dive watch to put through its paces, and you have a medium to smaller wrist, this particular timepiece is the way to go!
the best value for money, quite sturdy after two years since purchase, needed a battery which costed 3€ at the dealership, a waterproof check costed 16€, shipping was 5.60€*2 round trip, totaling 30.20€, a high cost
Very good watch. I bought it for the summer, for the sea and vacations.
Sturdy, beautiful, and very high quality for its price.
Diver with screw-down crown, 200m waterproof and with the guarantee of the Casio name, truly there is no equivalent for its price. Essentially, it is an old Duro (mdv 101) without the sword hands.
It looks and feels more expensive than it actually is. Okay, if you put it next to watches that cost 250 euros and above, it doesn't deceive you, but that's not its purpose.
The dial is very simple and functional. Maybe too simple for my taste, but that's subjective.
The size is wrong here, it's not 44 but 40mm.
I didn't use the bracelet at all, I replaced it with a pearl strap and saved half the weight and it also looks better. I didn't really like the feel of the bracelet when I saw it.
Very good value for money product, it gives me the feeling that it will make me look good. Well done, Casio.
EDIT: Guys, the watch is not for children, you are used to XXL sizes. 38-42 mm is the normal size, like this one.
Update: Third summer with lots of swimming, diving at 3m, and playing in the sand, and it's still like new. Waterproofing will be checked as soon as the battery is finished. With a red NATO strap, it looks even nicer and more summery.
The watch is excellent for its price in terms of quality and appearance. It is durable, fully waterproof, and in my opinion, it goes perfectly with a black rubber strap. The rotating bezel does not have the smoothest movement and does not align perfectly with the minute indicators, which is justified at this price. The size (42mm) fits better on smaller to medium-sized wrists.
Extremely accurate, sturdy, screw-down crown, a true diving watch.
Can be worn with anything, you can hit it and it withstands everything.
With a black dial, it looks even better and a NATO strap elevates it. I have several more expensive watches, Casio, Seiko, Tissot, etc., but this is the best value for money I have.
Also, at €47, it makes a great gift
An excellent watch. The black dial is more beautiful than the blue one and more legible.
Excellent considering that it is truly a diving watch (tested), it is scratch-resistant due to being quartz, it can be worn with anything, and it is stunning with a leather NATO strap.
Perhaps the most value for money watch in my collection
I am not a fan of quartz watches, but for an everyday watch that withstands any condition, it is very good and value for money. Compared to no-name or fashion brands, there is no discussion, it is superior by far.
Reading the reviews, I decided to buy a very affordable watch for the first time, which is actually very beautiful for a price below 50 euros.
I was impressed that it has a screw-down crown (I imagine with a flange) and that the second hand falls exactly on the mark. I just wish it was a little bigger.
Its weight is ideal for you to realize that you are wearing it.
It is a value for money watch similar to the Casio Duro and with a very good bracelet. Easy to use, very simple with decent luminous points, it keeps time well, especially on the hands in the dark. The mechanism is Epson, worn by Seiko quartz, and it is very accurate! The case is of a solid stainless steel diving model, with a screw-down cap. It has a winding crown with a safety lock that makes it a true diving watch, as water cannot touch it at all. Good glass, be careful not to scratch it and in general, avoid hitting the crystal, especially in diving watches, as it is their weak point. Up to ten meters and then the depth of the sea, a scratch becomes a crack... Buy it with your eyes closed, it's worth it! I also got the black one and put a Citizen strap on it!
The watch is worth it and more for its quality!! The name Casio is a guarantee in itself!! It doesn't face any problems for swimming in the sea!! Anyone who wants a beautiful and very reliable watch, I highly recommend it without reservation!!
I bought it to wear it only on vacations. Second year this year, with a lot of swimming and diving in the sea and pools, the watch doesn't notice anything, it's like I bought it today!
After 25 years of experience with four Seiko5 watches, I decided to try something else....this watch is truly amazing in every aspect...beauty, accuracy, water resistance, durability, words cannot do it justice...don't think about it at all, buy it with closed eyes
Excellent watch, bought it for everyday use and from the first day I put a leather strap on it, so I don't have a particular opinion about the bracelet, but as a construction, the watch seems sturdy and gives you the feeling of a watch with double the price. The photos don't do it justice, especially the blue version, the color is deeper and much shinier. The only "negative" thing is that the glass is not scratch-resistant, but for this price, I think it's unlikely to have that feature.
UPDATE for the bracelet and the watch in general after so much time. After a few months of use, I can say that the quality of the bracelet is excellent considering the 50 euros it costs, satisfactory fitment with good weight. As for the watch, it is excellent, I use it for everyday wear (even in relatively challenging environments with machinery and many tools), it is accurate and has minimal scratches
