  A tremendous job has been done on the game from all aspects. Apart from the graphics, where they took the original framework and transferred it to UE4, the combat has undergone quality of life changes. The biggest differences are that the DMW summons/special attacks are not automatic anymore, but you choose when to use them. This makes farming much easier. The combat has become similar to Kingdom Hearts, so you select skills/magic through the L1 button, which displays all the materia. The menu in the original that had the battle commands has been replaced by a menu where you simply select potions, ethers, etc. The basic attacks are not robotic like in the PSP version, but there is a flow in Zack's movements. The soundtrack has received a remaster and remains excellent. Overall, the work done is impressive and I believe that if someone overlooks some issues due to PSP limitations, we are not only talking about an incredible title (like the original) but also a very honest remaster/remake.
