With GPS and music, its battery drains very quickly. Other than that, it's a very nice watch, its smart features are very good, many options for various sports. I believe for someone who doesn't want something extravagant for the sport they are engaged in - I personally run - it's a very decent watch.

I use it as a middle-distance track athlete (1500m+) since August 2022.
Pros:
Satisfied with the GPS accuracy, easy connection with wireless headphones, and synchronization with Spotify (or your own music playlist from Garmin Express).
Nice smart features like contactless payment.
Long battery life and quality construction.
Cons:
The heart rate sensor has been observed to malfunction in many users, resulting in inaccurate data for training effect, exercise type (aerobic-anaerobic), etc.
Also, the altimeter is another sensor that does not function properly. In flat routes or even on a track, the altitude has a fluctuating trend.
There is also a significant deviation in the temperature sensor's recorded value compared to the actual temperature.
For such an expensive Garmin watch, this is unacceptable for the sensors, as you pay extra money for these features.
At this stage, it is much more worthwhile for someone to pay half the price and get the previous model, FR245.

Coming from the Forerunner 230, the difference is chaotic! The watch is beautiful with a large and clear screen with big digits! Charging from the computer from 10% - 100% in 76 minutes! The GPS and altimeter are very accurate. Also, the track run function is amazing! On a 400-meter track, I ran exactly 13km (32.5 laps on the 1st lane) and the watch recorded exactly 13,000m!! Another function that I like is Garmin Pay, which stays unlocked for 24 hours once you enter your pin to make a purchase (meaning it doesn't ask for a pin again for subsequent purchases), unless you take the watch off your wrist, in which case it locks immediately! At the price of €319 that I bought it, it is clearly value for money!
Coming from the Galaxy Watch 4, the difference is significant. Yes, it has fewer smart features, but the difference in sport features is chaotic. I recently started exercising and running after years of hiatus, and the Galaxy just didn't meet my needs. If you don't exercise and want a lot of smartwatch features, it's better to go for something else, and cheaper too. But for fitness, especially for running, there is nothing better at this price.
First of all, I have to say that the battery is excellent. I was used to charging my smartwatch every day, but with this one, that's not the case at all! Without running, with gym workouts three times a week, continuous heart rate monitoring and blood oxygen measurement only during sleep, it lasts about 10 days. On vacation, if you just wear it as a watch and only track steps and heart rate, we're talking about 12-14 days, even if you don't bring the charger with you. With running and GPS mode only (without multiband, etc. which are needed for high accuracy), it lasts about a week, with 4 runs + 2 gym workouts. All this while only taking it off in the shower, otherwise, I wear it 24/7.
The screen is very simple and nice, during the day or in a well-lit room, you don't even need the backlight. Always on, without draining the battery due to the illumination. I have set it to only turn on the light with the button when I need to see something and it's dark, so it doesn't unnecessarily flash with the classic "I'm checking the time" gesture. Also, since it only needs it at night with the lights off, the battery saving during the day is a big plus, and you can set the brightness low (I have it at 10%) since it's not needed during the day, so you save even more!
As for the measurements, you can watch countless videos about its accuracy in most of the things it offers. The most useful ones are those that show the condition of your body, if it has recovered, the workout history, and general things like VO2 max, HRV, training status, performance, etc. Also, very good for me are the training plans it has. Besides the classic 3 it offers by default for running, 5k, 10k, half marathon, on the Garmin Connect website, you can find even more, including a full marathon, depending on your level. You can also customize them based on the exercise you already do and your schedule!
The only feature I miss from the Galaxy is the ability to answer calls from it when my hands are busy and my phone is far away. And maybe the Google Assistant, but when I'm at home, I have a smart speaker, so I didn't use it frequently anyway.
Also, it was convenient for me on the Galaxy that it charged with the Qi charger I already have on my nightstand. The cable with the Garmin connector is a bit outdated, but it charges quickly and you rarely use it... so I won't even count it as a downside, that's how good its battery is.
P.S. It takes 22mm quick release straps, so you can put on any OEM strap in this size, which many other watches have, so you'll find countless options on the market. Also, I have to say that it is very lightweight, and you don't even feel like you're wearing it for hours on end!
You buy such a watch, you expect the GPS to work!! Well, stay away from this watch! The only good thing was the heart rate monitor!
It is very convenient, I use it on a daily basis and it has helped me tremendously, but in areas with noise from other signals, the Bluetooth for the headphones does not work well, it cuts off and it's frustrating. Especially in the center of Athens, there is a problem, it's not worth the extra money for the ability to listen to music without a phone on you. It should be noted that the headphones I have are the simplest wireless headphones available, but with the phone, the Bluetooth does not cut off at all. It is also not compatible with the Garmin Explore, where you can view the GPX files from the phone and it requires the hassle of transferring them from a computer, at least for now. I have had it for 3-4 months and I use it mostly for running and other activities.
Small - Elegant - Good construction - A bit expensive
As a Fenix 6x Pro user, the Forerunner 255 Music is considered an upgrade for me because it is smaller, more user-friendly, lighter, and has almost the same capabilities.
The price could be lower.
Only time will tell if the change was worth it.
After 9 months of mediocre use, mainly as a simple watch, suddenly the start-stop button doesn't work, resulting in not being able to use it as an activity tracker. Yesterday, I sent it for inspection, let's hope for the best (replacement)
Excellent watch, the battery lasts a long time and charges relatively quickly. Come and love the coaching that helped me increase the kilometers and improve my running times.
The 255 comes with the new sensor that it has (same as the new and expensive Fenix7 & Epix2) amazing accuracy in measurements, it is lightweight and sits nicely on a slim wrist.
I come from:
1. all Huawei GT2Pro/3 series that are for the money TOP but what can you do without Google Pay and Chinese software (and they constantly annoyed me in calls in the car with Android Auto)
2. the Samsung Galaxy 4 Classic doll but which I blasphemed to charge it every day and to remain battery in a phase that I needed it.
In general, Garmin is a different philosophy that won me over.
It is a logical solution without going overboard in money for anyone who wants to get a watch.

I put on my ear buds, load up a podcast, and run without a phone in my hand. The battery is also amazing, I have no complaints. For the record, it seems to me that the compass has a deviation of 10-15 degrees, but it doesn't affect me anywhere nor is it significant in my opinion. I ended up with such a display and not a more beautiful AMOLED watch because I want to use it in the sea as well. My other final choice was the Fenix 6 Pro (similar price now), but after reading reviews, I decided to get the newer FR 255 Music. Overall, very happy with the purchase.
