Personally, I loved this series from the very beginning much more than Caraval; however, you should know that they are connected as it is a sequel series to Caraval, and it would be good to start from there to avoid spoilers. Our story is about an ordinary (or not) girl with rose gold hair and many dreams who tries to find a cure for her broken heart from her first love in a world where Fates, dragons, and magic are dangerous and forgotten by many. So, in her despair, Evajeline turns to Jacks?, Prince of Hearts, and makes a seemingly simple deal to fix her broken heart. Thus, the two of them embark on an adventure filled with secrets, magic, curses, and enchanted potions in the Magnificent North where stories may be both true and cursed. However, Evajeline's happy ending seems not to be what she expected. But can one truly trust a deal with a Fate?
