Skroutz Tips
We took care and learned for you!
Many users have noted that they feel the speargun is stable in their hands, and the ergonomics of the handle and trigger make it comfortable to use for extended periods.
The gun features a high-quality barrel and muzzle that allow for accurate aiming and shooting, even at longer distances. Additionally, the gun has a smooth trigger pull that many users appreciate for its consistency and reliability.
They also mention that the gun can be used in both open water environments and reef settings.
Some users note that the speargun may take some time to get used to, especially for those who are new to spearfishing or are accustomed to using different types of guns.
It is also highlighted that there is difficulty in cocking and securing, particularly on the second notch.
Regular maintenance is important to keep your speargun in good working condition. This may include rinsing the gun with fresh water after each use, checking components for wear or damage, and lubricating moving parts as needed.
The importance of safety and training
It is worth noting that spearfishing can be a dangerous activity and requires proper training and safety equipment. It is important to always follow safe diving practices and use appropriate safety equipment, such as a dive flag, weight belt, and buoyancy compensator.

The loading with the 19mm band is relatively difficult for a beginner but not as dramatic as some present it. Simply, compared to the old spearguns, you need to load with your thumbs facing each other. Overall, it is a well-made weapon. The grip could be a bit larger and the safety could be a bit better. Generally, it is accurate and powerful with a quality muzzle and shaft and quite respectable in the most important elements of a speargun. For holes (bream), octopuses, lionfish, it is fine and due to its power, it is not excluded to ambush in shallow waters for white fish and close distances. It loses points in the finer details but is a good purchase. For a more all-around better choice, the 82mm model is a better option as with the reverse mechanism it is like a compact conventional 90mm.
For me, who started as a beginner spearfishing with a searcher in shallow waters, it worked very well. The rubbers are soft... very bad... but okay, you can change them if you want. I have no higher expectations for its price.
I completely agree with the review of: "pavlos.st 23/10/2023". Terrific weapon, the absolute value for money. The review concerns the 82 model. As soon as you enter the water, you realize that this weapon is no joke: although it is a single band, the 19mm Anaconda/6.5 mm Sandvic Taitien setup gives it tremendous power at close range, at least for 3.5 meters (approximately 3 spear lengths). I bought it because my (own) years have passed, and I started to leave deep dives and hunting and focus on shallow rocky, swimming searching, and absolutely meditative spearfishing. In the photo I am posting, it is a hit on a bream at a depth of 4 meters, where the spear, after penetrating the fish at a distance of 2 meters, got stuck 5 centimeters deep in the base of the rock - it took a couple of consecutive attempts to retrieve it. And all this on the first notch (I am experienced, but I didn't expect such a hit!). Regarding the loading: no problem, make a contraption with a cut old flip-flop at the chest contact and a little practice. Even if it had a wider loading heel, the 19mm band is still tough, but not something terrible (the hit it delivers is amazing, so it's worth it). Caution: the trigger is very sensitive: keep your index finger OUT of the slot until you fire! Also, the safety of the trigger is a bit unclear, it will probably settle with use (I used a little high-quality lubricant, the same I use for the shotgun, and it improved a lot - that's what you see in the photo). RECOMMENDATION: Use gloves, even in summer, to avoid finger injuries in case the band does not sit well in the notch (the band, I repeat, is very strong). It is absolutely accurate, almost 100%, flexible in searching, and you handle it comfortably from the first moment. The only downside is the moderate buoyancy, but we are talking about an aluminum single band, we can't have everything - after all, it is super light and very well balanced overall. In conclusion: a tool for all (relatively close) uses. Ideal for beginners, the weapon helps you. If I remember, I will update after a while about its durability (to see how it handles wear over time). Excellent purchase...
It's really perfect! I got the 82 model, it's very powerful but for close shots and on rocks the size and power are amazing. In a hide and for long shots, it will let you down... I don't know if a second rubber and a 6.75 needle would make a difference. It's very good overall and 100% accurate. Besides, if you get a larger size for hiding, it won't work for close-range shooting. A spearfishing gun for all tasks doesn't work... maybe if I were to buy again after 2 years of use, I would get the 90 model for my next purchase
I took the initiative to write my review because I see many complaining about how difficult it is to load..
To load a spear gun, you need experience to understand how to position your body and use it as a lever to pull with more force. If you can't do it, it's not the spear gun's fault, it's yours. You can watch videos and train yourself, and soon you will succeed and even have fun.
The 19mm bands on a 26-inch gun for a beginner may be a challenging track, but not something so terrible.
I have seen a 65kg untrained person loading it easily and not changing it. So relax a bit with the bands, wear a wetsuit with a chest pad to avoid pain, or cut a flipper and put it on every time you load.
This is my first purchase of this speargun. I agree that the bands are excessively stiff. Even for loading at the first notch, it requires a lot of strength. I managed to load it, but due to the difficult loading, I make few shots. The loading heel hurts a lot without a wetsuit.
Quite a powerful and straight shot.
Update 09/22/2024 In the end, the bands are not that stiff. It just requires technique. Now, since I learned the method, it loads very easily. Also, the loading heel doesn't hurt that much after all. Without a wetsuit, it will leave a small bruise.
I have done 3 fishing trips so far with this gun (I also have the 82 and the 90 pro), coming from a 75 with a reel... From the second fishing trip onwards, I had tremendous accuracy. So the gun is incredibly accurate. The shaft has already hit rocks and it hasn't bent or anything. Just file the tip a little from hitting it hard and it's ready. Really, the loading is very easy (I have made a makeshift construction with a latex band passed through a flip-flop sole and I add it additionally to the chest where I have no problem and it works well). The grip is good, the trigger is sensitive! Be careful when loading, always make sure it clicks, keep your fingers away from the trigger in general (a slight pressure is enough to shoot) and when loading, always check that the spear is properly inserted into the notch and not crooked due to haste or incorrect loading technique. SAFETY FIRST and happy diving!
EDIT: I have been fishing with this gun for 8 months every week, it is incredibly good and accurate. The shaft hasn't suffered any damage, it just needs regular filing if you encounter rocks. Get it with your eyes closed. Very powerful and when the bands wear out, you can get a smaller size and it will be just like the old set
Very good spear gun, I must say, for the fishing I do, waiting in shallow waters, searching and swimming. As the owner of the pro 90 closed head, I am completely satisfied. If you learn how to handle the weapon, you can shoot at quite long distances, but it requires trust and self-confidence because long shots can be intimidating. The 19mm bands are sufficient for this gun, and there is no need for exaggeration with double bands, etc., as stronger tension will cause bending of the barrel. The only negative aspect that someone might notice after years of use is the buoyancy, especially with white fish that can move faster. The mechanism is flawless, no issues in the 4-5 years that I have had it, and the barrel is simply amazing - incredible flexibility and a great alloy that provides incredible resistance to impacts on rocks, stones, etc. I don't understand the comments that these guns are not armed as they come from the manufacturer. Band guns require strength to arm, and yes, the second notch requires more strength than the first, but it's a matter of getting used to it. I am relatively fit, but I have friends who are twice my weight and muscle mass and they can't even arm the first notch. Arming is also a matter of technique. The only thing I would change is perhaps an open head for faster arming and better accuracy, but again, I have noticed these things after many fishing trips. A beginner who wants to get into spearfishing will make the best choice if they choose this gun, both the 90 and the 82, although I would recommend the 90 because once they gain experience, the 90 will feel more convenient. This barrel is exactly what the gun needs, no need for any changes. Also, definitely switch to a reel after some time when the fisherman's skills improve, but I would recommend it from the beginning because you never know what fish will appear in front of you. If I were to make a new purchase, it would be for something more powerful for longer shots and bigger fish, although with this specific gun, you can catch quite large fish.
As a beginner, I bought the Pathos Pro 75.. I highly recommend it, the gun simply can't be beat.. accurate and very powerful tool, comfortable grip and overall it has very good materials on it.. I believe it is perfectly tuned and doesn't need any modifications..
My first spear gun,
very satisfied,
at first it seems somewhat difficult to load, especially in the rear position and without something on the chest (wetsuit, pad, etc.), but after a few times I do it easily.
good grip, good trigger, I would just like a slightly more positive buoyancy
very good price
I definitely recommend it for beginners
Very satisfied with the fishing I do. Sturdy and accurate. I have the 82 model.
The disadvantage is the buttplate, which if you don't have slippers or wear a protective suit, will scratch your chest and abs. Also, the loading mechanism requires strong arms, especially the second notch, which if not properly secured, can say goodbye to your finger. I filed down the second notch a bit to insert the spear deeper and saved myself. It also lacks a bit in long-range shooting. Okay, the length is not ideal, but targeting anything over 2, 2.5 meters is difficult, especially with faster and more elusive fish like saragos.
I have had it for over 3 years.
I have used mares, Cressi. But this one suits me incredibly well in water movement.
I have hit it a lot and it hasn't suffered anything, the mechanism is still perfect, the only thing I changed because it wasn't good was the closed head, I put an open one and I can even spearfish with it in deep waters.
Nice looking spear gun, with a harpoon-style design, but USELESS for now, as it does not come with a spear. Even more so for those who don't have strong muscles. It needs bands, which will cost extra, for the gun, and I hope it doesn't negatively affect it. Bad impression for me as a beginner. I bought the 75 model.
Very good spear gun for someone who has recently started but also for beaches with shallow waters, it is very stable and has a very good aim, the only downside is that it hurts a lot in the armament, an easy solution is to put a piece of plastic on top and tape it so that it does not come off in order to soften it, for example, I comfortably arm it with a rubber band 4cm smaller
I have been fishing with the Pathos 82pro since the first model came out with the reverse trigger mechanism. I go to the sea at least once a week. Over the years, all the color has faded, but the gun and trigger have not suffered anything... Incredibly lightweight, accurate, and it doesn't get damaged. For so many years, I only change the bands. If anything ever happens to it, I will buy the same one again. All the other guns have been left on the shelf.
Very good spear gun, it will never betray you, reliable, be careful when loading it always wear gloves because if the metal bell comes off, goodbye finger
Hey guys over at Pathos, do you think that bodybuilders, after finishing their land program, go for sea with the 82 pro? Let me explain. The setup of the gun with the RUBBER it wears is WRONG, wrong, wrong unless you hire a gunsmith to load it. And the first step with its own bell is difficult. I loaded it with a longer bell and a chest pad (first step, of course). After the third shot, I abandoned the fight because the excessive pressure on my chest caused pain - suffering from Pathos. The excessively small HEEL is also partly responsible, which I don't see offering anything. As for the SAFETY, to be sure it is engaged, you must use the index finger of your left hand while holding the gun with your right (too short). The GRIP now, for those of you with shovel hands - even with gloves - will feel small (most will manage). So is the gun bad? On the contrary, it is powerful and accurate, and if the guys - as we said - set it up differently (and the SAFETY THE SAFETY) it will shine. So when you order the gun, add a pair of rubbers. And one question. Does the textured tube help anywhere other than sanding our hand on some crooked surface? 30/10/2024 I see that some say you don't know how to load. Don't listen to anything. The gun DOES NOT load unless you want to leave with a finger less.
Overrated for its price. The plastic handle and sole are of poor quality, as if they were made of recycled plastic. Otherwise, it is satisfactory. Accurate and powerful. Even with the sole behind the handle, the assembly on the second step is not easy with the 19mm rubber it comes with when you purchase it, compared to the 75mm one I got. The safety requires some initial work and the mechanical rope grab moves left and right, apart from up and down, meaning it shakes. Personally, I would recommend the 75mm to be set with 2 thinner rubber bands and the bell, which is of very good construction, to be 3 millimeters wider in length, it's fine.
The first 5 catches with this gun have impressed me. I mainly swim and hunt in shallow reefs. The 82 pro behaves like a classic 90, so don't be afraid of its size. It is an incredibly balanced weapon, you can literally handle it with just one finger underwater. The feeling of the "sagre" barrel is amazing, I think it makes the aim of the gun more effective. Accuracy is 100%. The shot is not very long-range, but it is not weak either, after all, we are talking about a classic single-band gun. The "manisia" spear is also very high-quality, sturdy, and durable, 6.5mm. Later, I might try it with a 6.75, I think I will gain more power. I believe we are talking about one of the best value for money general-purpose spear guns. I also bought the reel (don't get confused, it is not included in the package) and now I have a good weapon for the tasks I want.
A small update about the gun, which I have been using for two years now. My impression remains excellent, but it should be noted that ultimately its range is small. Even with changed guerilla bands, it still doesn't comfortably reach the 2.5-3 lengths of the spear that we want from our gun. It is excellent for close-range work near the rocks, which is my main fishing style, perfect as a secondary weapon but not suitable for hunting in deeper waters.
First time trying Pathos, its capabilities are incredible, I believe it's the best weapon so far compared to the previous ones I had, accurate, the handle feels like it was designed for my hand, lightweight in the water and easy to move around, very durable construction materials, I'm thinking of getting it in a longer length, the reel is sold separately by the company. It's a reliable weapon and worth every last euro, I highly recommend it.
First dive and I immediately realized the incredible capabilities of this very good buoyancy, its power will amaze you incredibly strong and on the first ladder, accuracy 100% (tested). As for the size, you should know that it also comes in 75, 90, I don't remember for more. Personally, I would give a lot more money for this weapon because it's worth it.
A very good spear gun, accurate, very convenient size for diving and searching, but for very narrow rocks, a 70cm one would do the job better. Powerful, although the rubber bands naturally need to be changed depending on the distance and speed of the targets we hunt. I recommend it for patience and searching, but not for very confined spaces.
Very good spear gun with impressive capabilities in all types of fishing. For me, it is the perfect balance for searching and holes, due to its reverse mechanism it is like an 85 conventional. The friend I dive with has the 90 which is better for long distances but somewhat difficult to maneuver when changing direction. I highly recommend it.
Perhaps one of the best, most versatile weapons on the market. The Pathos pro 82 is the tool for all tasks (almost). Its length, combined with the reverse mechanism, gives the weapon flexibility in searching without depriving you of the ability for a medium-range shot, if the opportunity arises. The F19 rubber bands it has provide enough power for experienced users and a new experience for new users, as the length of the weapon does not hinder easy arming. The weapon is not suitable for very long shots without a second rubber band, due to the relatively short length of the barrel. The only disadvantage one may find is the thickness of the barrel, which is 6.5mm, which in my opinion, maybe a 6.75 would suit it better. Attention to new buyers, most of the photos show the reel, which is sold separately.
