It does exactly what it says. WARNING, the socket for the nut is not 1/2 inch, but 3/8 inch. For those who don't know, it's the medium size nut, not the big one or the very small one. For convenience, I recommend getting an adapter (usually costs 1.5 euros), from 1/2 inch to 3/8 inch so that you can use it with a larger nut for more torque when loosening if it's stuck. I remind you that oil filters should be tightened with specific torque specs measured in NM (Newton Meters), depending on your model you should search on google. You will need a torque wrench to do it correctly. Of course, if you tighten it approximately with a regular nut, you will be fine 95%, so don't worry too much if you don't want to buy a torque wrench, the job can be done without it. Most workshops don't use a torque wrench anyway since they don't care much and don't have time to deal with such details for each car.
