So far, it works very well and the recordings are very clear. For its price, it is really good.
Prefer the equivalent of Rode after 2-3 uses, the jack and cable started malfunctioning, resulting in mono and noisy recordings.
Perfect for its price and comparable or better than shotgun mics three times the price; if you just want a shotgun for use that isn't fully professional and don't want to spend a lot of money, get it.
Awesome sound quality and very clear voice even in windy conditions. Easy to use and will meet every need. I use it for videos and the result is professional. It has become an essential accessory for my phone and PC for the videos I make on my channel. Excellent build quality and very good performance. I recommend it. Check out the video I have prepared on my channel. BOYA - M1 & BOYA - MM1/Smartphone/Wind/Test/Outdoor conditions with wind (no editing). Video link: https://youtu.be/9ZgIXrppTGw
For use as an on-camera mic, it is excellent and affordable. It has also been used on a boom when required with satisfactory results.
I have bought 2, one click worse than the equivalent of the rode (~50 euros) that I also have. For the money (~15 euros), it's fine.
I tried it with two smartphones to record songs, but the sound is almost the same as the mobile phone microphones, so it's not worth the hassle. Also, the stand broke the first time I tried to put it on, the plastic of the stand is very fake, so it needs attention. I only see its use for someone who wants it for a computer, maybe someone who doesn't have a microphone at all and wants it to speak in a stream or for some mediocre recording
So we're talking about a microphone that costs 10 euros, we found it a few months ago here on Skroutz..
It is decent for what it offers, case, cables, foam for the microphone, etc..
Overall, if you want a microphone to take your first steps and you're willing to spend up to 15 euros, it's worth it...
Now, with more money, you can get something better.. However, we're talking about the cheapest microphone on the market and it's quite value for money!!!
Attention, guys, there are 3 different models, we presented the simple and economical version. There is one with the dual jack and one with the switches on top.
Detailed review here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dCzB7BDwTlE
From the dozens of positive comments and reviews online, I decided to give it a try.
Usage: amateur vlogging obviously.
The difference with the factory microphone on the iPhone 11 (so we're not talking about any new device) is minimal. In an outdoor space with cars in the background and wind, with its furry cover, it manages to slightly isolate my voice. For a directional microphone, I expected something better. I don't know if the small improvement in sound is worth the hassle of attaching it to any device.
As for the quality, I had the same issue as others. The plug that connects to the 3.5mm jack is completely loose without a clear screwing point. Personally, I screwed it until it started to tighten somewhat... Apart from that, the front part is poorly made.
I don't know if there are fake boya microphones on the market.
If we consider that someone can spend up to 30 euros on this, it is a complete disappointment. Up to 15 euros, we can still discuss it.
READ BEFORE YOU BUY
The microphone is okay only when you have it very close to you. The cable is very short, resulting in it being closer to your computer than to you, and this causes it to record the sounds from your computer at a higher volume than your voice. As a result, the sound quality from a distance is terrible.
edit: I forgot to mention that the sound is also terrible when I connect it to my camera (Canon)
My experience with this microphone was not good, it makes annoying noise and I don't even use it
Three out of five stars for the Nikon D5600 for its video recording capabilities and the camera's microphone produces better, louder, and clearer sound. Then I decided to try it on my Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro and it was the same. Now I use it for live streaming on my PC game until I get another one
I use it for my Nikon 5600 camera. The sound is perfect and clear when shooting concerts. It's not worth discussing the €12 price for its purchase.
Excellent product for its price. With 11€ you get an excellent microphone for recordings. I used it on my Sony XZ Premium mobile with the built-in camera app and it works perfectly. The negative aspect is the short length of the cable, but the positive is that you can use an extension from the microphone to the TRRS cable and from there to the mobile without any problem.
Guys, the best microphone for its price. I mainly use it for streaming and recording, and it does its job perfectly. Get it without a second thought!
Very good for its price
The sound is terrible, it constantly sounds like zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
What can I say, I saw good reviews and rushed to get it... It's a parasite to me... The sound is like I'm in a well... I got it for recording sound more than speech, but even there it doesn't... Maybe I'm not doing something right? Durable construction.
One of the two cables did not work. The base that holds it is made of plastic and does not seem like it will last for long. The female plug of the microphone screws and unscrews on its own.
Other than that, it is fine for its value. It does its job.
5 out of 5 for its price.
Everything a average user needs who doesn't have crazy demands on how detailed the sound should be.
Ideal for young Youtubers or videographers.
I just threw it away as soon as I got it. The base that holds the microphone broke as soon as I put the plug in the socket, and the screw that holds the base also came loose, so I couldn't screw it in for any reason... I threw it away without a second thought
I followed the reviews and bought it. The microphone is excellent! Nothing else! The Boya is very high quality and the sound is incredible! I love its leather-like case.
Excellent microphone, you won't believe it for its price. The sound is clear, slightly towards the bass (without distorting the voice) and it doesn't pick up room sounds or even the neighbors opening and closing doors! Easy to use for voice recording. It connects and is recognized immediately by the computer (I have a 2017 MacBook and audio programs like Audacity and Logic). I haven't tried using it with a camera or mobile phone yet, but the plug connects perfectly fine to the camera. Attention, it is for recording - not for online conversations on its own because it doesn't have headphones, so you will need an adapter with headphone output if you want to use it on Zoom, for example. I highly recommend it for voice recording.
I would prefer it to be a little more directional and isolate the surrounding noises more. However, this is something that is related to how I use it and not to the microphone itself, so it does not diminish its value.
With the Nikon 5300 that I used, it works perfectly.
The cable doesn't work on the phone, it needs an adapter
I was impressed with the build quality and everything that comes in the box. Apart from the microphone, it includes 2 cables, the windscreen, the stand for it to sit on the camera or tripod, and a nice carrying case. The sound is great for my needs, clearer and louder than the laptop's built-in microphone.
Very high-quality microphone, I am definitely looking for a pop filter and equipment to work with a mobile phone so that I can fully utilize it. I have connected it to a Sound Blaster Audigy FX sound card with a volume of 97% and a 10db boost to avoid distortions. The noise with these settings is almost imperceptible, but you can remove it with a program like Audacity. I haven't used it in an outdoor setting due to the coronavirus, so I will inform you at the first opportunity.
Very good microphone. It does an excellent job on the camera, delivering clear sound and effectively isolating the sound of the air in outdoor video recordings (with the furry cover on). In indoor recordings, its performance is on par with semi-professional microphones that cost much more. It is recommended without any reservations for every amateur and for use either on a camera or for simple recording. It comes with 2 connection cables (1 for the camera, coiled, 3.5mm - 2.5mm and 1 for another audio device, 3.5mm - 3.5mm) and a carrying pouch.
There is nothing better for the 23€ I bought it from abroad.
If I were to go for 40-50€, I would prefer the Rode VideoMicro
It has a clear sound and it is quite good. However, it has 2 disadvantages: 1) it has a short cable 2) it is not worth its money
Just opened the microphone and was pleasantly surprised. It is of excellent quality!! Very sturdy construction with a very well-designed packaging and accessories. I haven't tested it yet, but I think its performance will be equally flawless! I will come back with operational details. 5 stars for the construction and I'm being conservative!
