It is the most useless thing I have ever used in my life. I bought it on 23/6/2022 for 162€. I am writing this review on 24/12/2022, exactly 6 months later. And I have to say the following:
I opened the box, took it out, and followed the instructions to install everything and set it up to work on my Wi-Fi. It connected IMMEDIATELY and I printed a random recipe to test the print quality. The job was done right away. The print quality was mediocre, but I didn't really care since I didn't need it for any official prints and I knew what I was getting at that price anyway.
And I start thinking about how unfair the other reviews I read here are and how useless everyone else who bought it and struggled to connect must be.
BUT (because there always has to be a "but")
It printed about 3.5 times. What do I mean by 3.5? It printed the first recipe in June, all good, printed another recipe the same day, all good. I turned it off. I turned it on again in September. I printed the cover of a book that my aunt needed, all good. I turned it off. I turned it on again in November to print a calendar for 2023 AND THE NIGHTMARE BEGINS. It printed until October AND STOPPED. And it got stuck there forever. I didn't notice at first, but when I went to flip through the calendar, I saw that months were missing. I tried to print the missing pages again, nothing.
What restart, what reset, what tutorials to watch, what to reread the manuals, what to open it up to see if there's a stuck paper inside, what to change the toner, NOTHING. What diagnostic tests to run, what to bang on it, what to unplug it and leave it there for hours hoping it will fix itself, nothing. Initially, from the App, it showed as busy. I dealt with print queues, nothing. What to log, what to log out, what to uninstall HP Smart and reinstall it hoping it will work, nothing. At some point, in its short life, it half-connected. It wouldn't print, but it was willing to scan. Oh well! I pressed scan from the App and the lamp did its job there, solo career, only that it wouldn't give me the feedback. It didn't bother showing me the scanned image and threw an error. I never saw what it scanned. I thought maybe the HP server was having issues, for some reason it couldn't connect to the cloud and was doing stupid things. The fact that it took the command to scan meant that locally I had no issues, my computer could see the printer. Let me wait, I thought, a day or two and try again. And I tried. Many times. And it tried and tried, now it doesn't see it at all. Its memory is eternal. I'll try connecting it with a cable to see what happens, even though the printer is on the other side of the room and we'll laugh a lot. I need a 10-meter cable or I have to rearrange all the furniture to bring it closer. Let's see what I'll do...
If it doesn't work like that, the recycling of devices will be very happy, because I won't bother anymore, nor will I beg the toaster. Road! I begged for a month now, I begged. Those of you who have it, throw it in the trash and don't look back. And make sure that no other poor soul takes it, please. It's not their fault that we're burdening them with this.
