Very convenient razor. The blades protrude just enough for a good and deep shave without cutting yourself. I am new to shaving and use it as a soldier. I have dense and intense facial hair growth and daily shaving is necessary. Any other commercial razor would dull after a few days of use and make shaving slow. With the safety razor, I relaxed. Cleaning is only a little problem if the water pressure is not enough, but it opens easily to rub the blade inside with your hand.

  • It is the second razor that I have tried and, unless I want to experiment, I have no reason to look at anything else. I only have good things to say. The choice of blade is of course very important (currently I am using Rockwell) but this is not related to the machine itself. The following are my observations, summarized, after using it for a few months:

    1. As a machine, it is aesthetically pleasing.
    2. It has a very good weight, which makes shaving much easier and precise.
    3. It provides a very good angle for the blade, important for a comfortable shave (which does not happen with other more expensive ones).
    4. It is very easy to clean from the cut hairs (just pour water with a little pressure into the appropriate openings underneath).
    5. The handle does not slip from the hand, even when wet.
    6. You really have to try very hard to cut yourself.

I highly recommend it, but the opinion is subjective.

I can't say much as a newcomer to DE shaving, but compared to my previous razor, the Lord L6, it is much better. Sturdy, with the right weight and properly balanced with a non-slip handle. It provides a close shave, gliding on the face like a caress. I used Proraso soap and Bic Astor blades. I experienced some minor irritations, so I will try Feather and Astra blades next.

I haven't dared to try against the grain shaving yet. The razor, however, appears to be of high quality, and the black color I chose is perfect. I will come back after a few shaves and tests with other blades for updates!

Update 18/2/2024: After many tests with various razors, I think the Permasharp works better for me, although I alternate it with Bic Astor as I consider it also very good and more durable. Overall, I haven't had any issues with the razor so far. It has proven to be very good and durable!

My previous razor was the Edwin Jagger DE, which rusted and the male screw in its head got worn out after 3 years of use. I wanted something similar in general, meaning a closed comb and similar construction, and I got this one.

After 5 shaves, I can say that it is much better than the Edwin Jagger, specifically providing a closer shave but with greater comfort. I tried it with Astra and Dorco Platinum blades, and with the Dorco blades, I can say that I had the best shave in every aspect. Also, the blades fit more securely, if that makes sense, whereas with the Edwin, if you didn't pay attention, there was an issue.

UPDATE September 2023: Two months ago, the chrome plating on the head started to come off and now it has almost completely disappeared, resulting in some rust appearing on the bare metal. It remains a good shaver, but I would recommend investing in a more expensive one that does not have chrome plating. I ordered the Muhle Rocca R94. Therefore, I give this review 3 stars.
