There is quite a delay in boiling, 2 - 3:30 minutes at maximum water volume. The previous one, 1.5 liters (this one is 1.7 liters), brought the water to boiling point in 1:30 minutes

1+ year and it continues steadily. Regarding the salts, I find that dissolved in plenty of water, apple cider vinegar does some work although over time it is not as effective.
